It is in a great location with large expansive rooms. It is an older property but the charm and character far outweigh any lack of contemporary style. The staff was helpful and the hotel itself offers a wonderful hideaway only a few steps from the Charles Bridge. This is in an older building, the door frames are low and in some cases space is tight and there is no elevator. The restaurant next door offers a nice continental breakfast but the location and the character are worth the reservation.

My husband and I had such a great stay in this hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our room had a view of the Charles Bridge tower which was an unexpected surprise when we walked in. The location couldn't be better, just steps from the bridge and not far from the Prague Castle. Only downside was the wi-fi signal in our room was pretty poor. Regardless, would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent small hotel just a few yards from Charles Bridge. Friendly staff, comfortable room. Rooms are arranged around a central stairwell. There is no lift so if you happen to be in the attic (4th floor, 75 steps), make sure you spend time in the gym before you go. However, the good side is that the attic rooms are beamed and full of character. There's a good breakfast, taken next door in the small cafe. Thoroughly recommended.

This hotel is definitely to be recommended. It has really nice and clean rooms. Its location is perfect! Just a few steps to Charles Bridge and only short walks to the places of interest. The staff is very friendly and has good suggestions for restaurants and activities.

We stayed in the Domus Balthasar Hotel with our 3.5 months baby. Traveling with a little one is quite a challenge but this hotel was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff did their best for us to feel comfortable at all times. Ordering a taxi, courtesy check out, helping with the luggage, recommendation of great family friendly restaurant was some of the things we are grateful for. It made our stay very enjoyable. I can recommend this place also for it's great home feel, very good standar... Read more

The Hotel is very nice and has the best location! A few blocks from the Metro station that comes from the airport. A few blocks from the tram that gets you to the castle. A few steps from Charles Bridge! Amazing! Very friendly and helpful staff. No lift so get ready for some exercise but it is worth it. The breakfast served in the café next door is very good. Absolutely recomended!!

We loved our stay at Domus Balthasar. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the staff helped us book concert tickets and gave us advice on how to use the underground when we need to get across the city to the bus station. Our room was very spacious, with a desk and a couch in addition to a bed, and the ceiling was beautiful painted wood. The bathroom was also very nice. The hotel has a lovely location close to the Charles Bridge, convenient to all of the sights, but luckily it was also v... Read more

Placed in the heart of Prague, this boutique hotel has a great service and has an excellent location. Very good breakfast served in the cafe next door. It offers transfers in/out by pre booking. Warning, the attic room is not suitable for 1.75m+ people because of its low ceiling.

Everyone seems to love this place but it could be so much better with a little fine tuning and attention to detail. I seem to be going against the grain but I would like to give some constructive criticism based on our stay. The positives as mentioned by most people, the location couldn't be better, our rooms were large and spacious with high ceilings and big windows and the place has lots of character and charm. Our pre-arranged airport pick up couldn't have been better, our friendly english sp... Read more

We visited Prague in July, 2016 and booked two rooms at the Domus Balthasar in Prague. The rooms were charming, VERY spacious, and super clean. The location was EXCELLENT---literally 1 minute to the historic Charles Bridge. We couldn't believe it. It MADE our stay in Prague. We stayed in the upstairs suite on the 4th floor. It had quite a few steps (winding, uneven, wooden)...but that contributed to the authentic Baroque charm of the room, and wasn't any kind of deal breaker by any means. ... Read more

This was a fantastic hotel set in a perfect location right near the historic bridge on the cool side. A short walk across the bridge to downtown, but we liked staying on this side. Old historic building, but nicely decorated. The front desk help were super friendly and helpful with everything we needed, from getting a cab to pointing out things to see and places to eat.

Situated on the edge of Charles Bridge, locations really don't get much better in Prague. Walking distance to everything but on the right side of the river to miss the throngs of tourists and get some peace and quiet. Rooms are huge and well appointed. Big bathroom, big bed, we really liked the separate living/seating area. Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Avoid the breakfast place though... they aren't so nice and with the plethora of places to eat in Prague you will be better off g... Read more

This is a nice hotel in a very good location. It's clean and comfortable. The staff are very nice and friendly. They are knowledgeable about Prague and they are always willing to help. My concern though is the safety practices some of their staff follow. They kept a laundry chute open on the floor next to the exit door. There was no hotel worker near the laundry chute. There was no warning nor sign that said this and like most people I do not walk looking down or expect there to be an open... Read more

Domus Balthasar is a great place to stay in a perfect location. We were in an attic room, which was quaint and cozy. While the climb up was quite a few steps, the air conditioning was nice to have to block out some of the rowdies on the street at night. Everything from sheets to towels to mattress was of high quality. And the front desk is very helpful with making day plans. We came in on a train from Budapest early that morning and were able to check in right away because our room was free. Tha... Read more

Stayed here for three nights in one of the attic rooms. I quite liked the room, it was quiet at night and the air con worked well (only the attic rooms have air con). I imagine it would be particularly cozy on a winter night. As mentioned in other reviews, the ceilings are low especially in the bathroom. I'm 5'8 and had no problems except stumbling into the bathroom in the middle of the night. Hit my head on the sloped ceiling a few times, in the bathroom. The room was clean enough and the ameni... Stayed 4 nices in an attic room. Room was spacious and I loved that you could open the windows, and that they all had pull down blinds for shade/privacy. Was fine with the low ceilings in the room, though I did bump my head a few times in the bathroom. Lots of stairs getting up to the room as there's no lift (4th floor if I recall correctly), but it was good exercise. Great location and easy to get to all the tourist attractions. I used their car service for arrival & departure and was very hap... Read more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for five nights in July. The hotel location cannot be beat and is a couple hundred feet from the Charles Bridge. I recommend hiring a drive by contacting the hotel in advance. Milan picked us up at the airport and took us back. He spoke perfect English and it was awesome to hear him talk about sights as we passed them in the comfy car. Additionally, there is no elevator in the hotel, but Milan was more than willing to help us bring our bags up to our 3rd fl... Read more

Lovely hotel in a great location right near the Charles Bridge. The managers on reception were all helpful and really make you feel welcome. The attic room is beautiful, clean, comfortable and quiet all night, no outside noise. If you have trouble with stairs there is no lift, but....it was good exercise. I would happily recommend this hotel.

I stayed 2 nights and loved the location - it is so close to the Charles Bridge. My room was big, very clean and the bed comfortable. I loved my stay. But there are some considerations. There is no elevator - so if stairs are a problem then make sure you book a lower floor. It is a small hotel - just rooms - so if you like big with hangout spaces then look elsewhere. Finally, the two attic rooms have lots of low beams and the bathroom low sloping ceilings. So loads of character but this will be ... Read more

I travel to Prague often for work and I think I've found my favorite hotel to stay! It is perfectly balanced. It is close to everything (2 main bridges including METERS away from the Charles Bridge tower, Prague Castle, Lennon Wall) without being in the center of Old Town. It is quiet at late night but still sits on the Main Street so it doesn't feel remote. It is a classic old (heritage site!) building but with excellent remodeled updates. It has the feel of a grand luxury hotel with the intima... Read more

I stayed at this hotel towards end of August for 3 nights. You cannot beat the location, less than a minute from Charles bridge... you just walk across the bridge and you are in the heart of the town. There is no AC but don't let this deter you, there is a fan and it is quite adequate The room is very spacious very nicely decorated, simple and modern. I highly recommend this place.

We spent three nights here with my partner when visiting Prague this spring. Just a few steps from Charles's Bridge, it is a perfect walking distance location for almost all Prague's 'jewels'. The entrance in a form of a big town house gate doesn't really suggest there is a 'hotel' here and even when you get inside, you don't feel it's too special but what really makes it stand out are the spacious rooms filled with light coming from the outside through those huge townhouse windows. Our room was... Read more
