Lovely place with friendly and accommodating staff. If I had any criticism, it would be that the AC in our Blues Wing room (282) was not as efficient as the other rooms we visited. I did notice that the bed were made but not changed for the entire week and if you didn't put towels on the floor, you would not get new ones. Breakfast was great but very, very slow sometimes..... Location was convenient to town and many restaurants which was great. The daily shuttle was great but taxi/bus so c... Read more

Great hotel to stay in while in Curacao. Had a family with both older couple and younger couples. Had things for everyone to do. The hotel restaurants were all very good. The staff all around was great and very helpful. The beached were very well taken care of. Located far enough away from city to not be too crowded but close enough to walk to in 20 minutes. Safe area and great restaurants located within 5 minutes walking.

I have been here many times, it is the most characteristic hotel in Curacao, beachfront, nice rooms, good facilities also for business traveller In the past ,guests were more of o combination of business and Leisure. They have a nice outdoor bar, where many local people also came for a drink. I loved that., Now more and more packages are offered for groups oif tourists, flying in by charter flights. so it becomes more like a beach holiday destination. Probably the hotel needs these groups, but ... Read more

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We did have some trouble with ants in our room. Also, toward the end of our stay (5 days), I had been devoured so badly by mosquitoes that my skin became extremely irritated and I had to wait until the sun went down to go out since I couldn't wear sunscreen. We've visited in the Caribbean several times and have never had this issue before. The food at the restaurants were decent. But we mostly ate at other restaura... Read more

Beautiful and peaceful. Came for a girls trip with my best friend. Stunning views, water, beach. Very friendly staff, esp Elvis, Genesis, Lucas. Very accommodating. Rooms were clean but not luxurious. Food was really good and not expensive. Wished the bar was a little more stocked with certain liqueur, Patron Silver, etc. It was a little more low key than we were hoping for. Very quiet. Pool deck was much smaller than appeared on pictures. Wish there was music playing during the day (... Read more

This is a great hotel to stay at. Their attentiveness to us was amazing. On two different occasions we requested a hair dryer and a clothes iron. They were very prompt and friendly in their service. All the staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Breakfast was very good. However, I believe the price for breakfast was a bit expensive but again, good customer service. They have a great gym! dumbbells, thread-mills, elliptical machines, a squat smith machine and a lot of other machines. I wou... Read more

Why is it that I only get to stay such a short time in such beautiful places... i just arrived and already fell in love with this island ... the colorful houses ... the friendly atmosphere and the good food ... i will nearly have 2 full days here but I'll sure I will make the most of it ... the hotel is nice... rooms are clean yet a bit old and the staff makes you feel at home right away ... might have found myself a little summer retreat here...

at the bar for lunch: the hotel changed management which is manifest; paint jobs all over, beach neater, parasols nicely arranged, in short the 'hardware' in the process of taken care off! The sofware, the people serving, in attendance, different story. Drinks forgotten, and the Salmon salad in a small darkbrown bowl, routinely put together, lemon drinks toe-curling sour, and all the attention to the struggle with the cash-computer. All as before, nothing changed! No doubt they have a smart new ... Read more

If you are looking for an awesome place to stay in Curacao, read on. TRUST Me, being a level 6 Trip Advisor contributor, do NOT be mislead by other "not so positive reviews". Before our trip, Farley (General Manager) and Robin emailed me explaining how they were looking forward to our arrival (we had never stayed at the Avila prior).I cannot say enough about Farley who went out of his way numerous times to ensure we were enjoying our stay. Even with a painful tooth he kept a smile. God Bless you... Read more

My husband and I stayed at the Avila for a week in October. We stayed in the older section of the hotel, the old governors mansion, which appeared to be much quieter than the newer sections. We had an ocean view with a balcony, which was amazing. I would highly recommend getting an ocean view. The weather was partly sunny and windy. I had visited before in June and do not remember it being quite this windy. I would assume fall is a windier time of year. 10 to 25 mph winds at times. The hotel had... Read more

Reasonable place to stay - clean but a bit tired. Beach area is nice; quiet at this time of year which is appreciated. Great views of both sunrise and sunset!!! Good breakfast - very friendly staff at check in. Our room attendant, Pearl, was very outgoing and friendly!!!
