Santa Barbara is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for relaxation and comfort! This is one of those hotels where you can stay in and get pampered. I would not recommend this hotel if you want to be in the nightlife scene as it is far from everything. Santa Barbara has amazing views, great rooms, and a fantastic spa!

Overall staff indifferent. Missy and Jaymy were the exceptions. They were always friendly and gave great service. The restaurant Medi had poor service, and the food quality was not what I would have expected for it's location. There was no communication on restaurant closings. One day I went to Medi for lunch and it was closed. The Shore was only open 4 days as well. I had greater expectations of this resort and was disappointed in what it had to offer. I guess if I didn't pay as much to... Read more

We attended a destination wedding at Curacea and stayed at the Santa Barbara resort. The service was great, property was beautiful and food was good. The price of the rooms are reasonable but the price of the food was high at the restaurants. The property is far from town so great if you want to relax at the pool and unplug. Not a great place if you are looking for a lot of night life. Would stay again at this resort. Beach doesn't have waves but it has pretty sandy beach.

A trip to Cura├žao in March is a lovely way of escaping the cold. The staff at the hotel were always helpful, courteous and friendly. It is situated quite far from the main centre and city in Cura├žao but is accessible by taxi or a bus if you wish to try the transport on the island. As we stayed for a week, we were really visiting for relaxation. The staff at the hotel were always eager to help out. Shore restaurant especially impressive. Room excellent. Concierge Ellie especially helpful; staff super helpful. People of Curacao the most friendly of any place we've been in the world. When we arrived at the resort, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and delicious blue Curacao cocktails. The entire resort is breathtakingly beautiful, including our room, which had a balcony overlooking the ocean. At the resort, we took advantage of the activities and amenities provided throughout the day. I especially enjoyed the fitness classes which included yoga with Ann Marie. Our large group spent the day at the Santa Barbara Resort as part of the resort for a day. It was 35 minutes from port due to traffic hidden away on the east side of the island. Even though it was over $100.00 a person a day, it gave you both the pool and the sea to enjoy. You have the option to pay additionally for paddle boards or kayaks about $20.00. We did and the kids enjoyed it. We saw many iguanas roaming around outside. The grounds are well kept and also appeared to have a large golf cou... Read more

We loved our stay at Santa Barbara - in Curacao!! The rooms and lobby and all features are fresh and new. The d├ęcor is gorgeous. Beds are so comfortable. Towels and robes are soft. No dingey old dusty worn out hotel here. :-) The gift shop and sundries (snacks) selection could use a little help - but the homemade ice cream/gelato makes up for that (some what). An outstanding resort - rooms are beautiful. Where they missed the mark is on the quality of the food. The dinners at the Medi were horrible. And they only had the Shore restaurant open one day during our 3 day stay. The spa seemed very disorganized - i waited for over 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there for my massage. Otherwise - it was a top notch resort. Another draw back is that the resort is in a very remote area and is very costly to take taxis to the town.

This was our second time here, the first it was just us with no kids. This time we came with our two kids and had a great time. There was a wedding this nights we stayed and the first night the music was really loud near our room, so we complained to the front desk and they gave us another room farther away from the events (bigger more comfortable room) After that everything was perfect. Susan the spa manager was absolutely nice and worried about us being as comfortable as we could be. We had ... Read more

Visited this resort on a day pass off a cruise ship. The grounds were well kept, staff friendly. We didn't use the pool as we are beach people so we spend the day down on the beach. There were more than enough loungers and shade and people were not sitting on top of one another on the beach.

Even, that the Price for Food&Drinks in the Hotel is too high (like everywhere in Curacao), the Hotel is great. Super area, perfect beach for Kids, with a lot of fishes, so Need to snorkel! But, if you want to go to Willemstad you Need a car, also to get there from the Airport. Which is much cheaper then taking a taxi! Pool is fine, but no slides or so for the Kids!

The Santa Barbara Resort is isolated. You will need a car to get off the premises as they do not offer any shuttle service and taxis are a minimum of $35 each way.. Make sure your room is far from the front desk as they have public events on the lawn and at the restaurants that will ruin the quietness of this resort.

The location is remote. You can't walk to any place outside. So I would suggest renting a car if you want to see more of the island or you need to book trips with the tour operator on site. For us,this wasnÔ??t an issue at all as you can be in Willemstad in 25 minutes. The one area of improvement was the food, it... The rooms are nice, very similar to the photos. but there isnt really a fantastic view from anywhere. the nice beach is on the side of the hotel. most of the rooms look out on desert dirt and then the ocean beyond. also a 16% service charge and then a tip expected on top of that is a bit excessive. so is the ... First time in Curacao was a very nice experience. The Santa Barbara resort was very good place to spend the day or just to start the day, rent a car and explore the island. It is a little bit isolated so if you do not want to dine in one of the on-site restaurant you need to rent a car or order a cab. However, the quality of resort in general surely makes up for that.

But the price wasn't bad anyways so i didn't really make a scene over it ! Our rooms were beautiful & clean. The bed is really cozy all of us loved it! Starting with the airport upon arrival at Curacao, we and other passengers from our JetBlue flight were astonished at the utter chaos of the airport's immigration and control. We waited on line to be introduced to what is supposed to be a modernized immigration control, but it was unorganized and the line was lengthy just to get into the immigration area. Firstly let's gets the cons out of the way. 1) Need a car. Yes you need to have a car if you want to leave the resort. Part of the reason the resort is so great is its isolation and therefore highly private beach. For me that's worth having a rental but that's a personal choice. 2) Expensive shops. The stores on the resort are hilariously expensive. Another good reason to have a car as there is a couple of great supermarkets nearby (Moma, Van Tweel) 3) Loud party boats. The beach is surro... The resort's expansive grounds have plenty to keep most anyone entertained for their whole stay. I would love to give it 5 stars, but the smoking, oh the smoking just kills the place. As there is no defined distinction between inside and out, people smoke through dinner, in the lobby, by kids in strollers. If the hotel did a bit more to control this I'd live at the place...
