If you exit out the side entrance, walk out 50' and you can catch the frequently arriving tram to downtown and be there in no more than 10'. Fare is 10 kunas(6 kunas to the dollar). You can buy a ticket at any newsstand. The Westin may have them for sale. They are good for 1 1/2 hours anyplace on the system. No parking or traffic problems.

We stayed at the Westin for 3 nights at the end off a tour.. The hotel has very nice and expansive public areas. The rooms are nice, not exceptional. Breakfast is good. The bar is very expensive for Zagreb. On Tues. May 10 our room was not serviced and we had to call for towels late in the afternoon. The major incident that was upsetting occurred when we were leaving. Descending the elevator, we heard a terrible noise, a crash and something hitting the roof of our car. The eleva... Read more

This hotel totally belies the brand Westin. The rooms are fatigued, carpets should have been replaced at least a year or 2 ago. The bathroom does not have enough towels. The tea/coffee kettle was stained and poor quality. There was no complimentary water in the room. When checked with front desk I was informed that the room rate had been negotiated such that water was not provided. Makes me wonder if international brands have any standards to maintain? Do they negotiate on the brand image of... Read more

Tram stations are a stone throw away. Building is a typical 80s construction however all the ammenities and fixtures are modern and up to date. The hotel is located just a short 10 to 15 mins from the centre of the city, so perfectly located.

It is fundamentally a business hotel with a few tour groups thrown in for good measure. Architecturally undistinguished, but nice. A good walk or short taxi ride from the center of the action for Zagreb....cafes, etc. However very conveniently located for some of the major museums. This is a nice hotel in a good location. Can easily walk to the main area of Zagreb. Room was just fine, clean and comfortable (we stayed on an spg floor - don't know if that has impact on room quality). The pool and gym are nice. Other people have commented that the wifi isn't good, but we were able to stream a tv show on our laptop in on our room! The only downside is the expensive parking. I think it was 19 euros! Service at the front desk was quick and efficient. The room was clean, the bed of typical Westin fashion. Overall a better than average Westin experience and a good hotel on the way to getting better.

We stayed at the Westin Zagreb for two nights. We requested a twin room but were told there were no twins available and were given a king with a roll away bed. It was quite cramped. A bellman knocked while I was on the phone and came in before I had an opportunity to answer the door. I opened the door and there was someone outside who said our room had been assigned to them. The matter was cleared up but not sure how the front desk couldn't keep track of what rooms were assigned. The bathroom si... Read more

We stayed at the Westin as part of a 44-person tour group. It was not a pleasant experience. We arrived at 7:30 in the evening. The hotel staff was overwhelmed and rude and many of our rooms were not ready yet. The rooms were poorly maintained. Many in our group had complaints: Doors that would not close, stained carpet, smell of smoke, and toilets that were not working, showers not draining. We had to turn off the AC at night to get some sleep because of the weird noises that it made. Buffet... Read more

1. The hotel is undergoing renovation. 2. The rooms (normally given to groups) are dated and some of the facilities are not working properly such as shower and curtain. When renovation is completed (donâ??t know when) the Westin would get back itâ??s name as a top class hotel in Zagreb. 3. There is tea-coffee making facilities in the room. Since Zagreb water is hard, wash the kettle thoroughly to remove fur (or sediments) stuck in it. 4. Breakfast room is nice and bright and the food offered is ... Read more

Ugly building, dirty room, worn-out with awful quality. On the top unfriendly staff. Gym full thanks to outside hotel guests. The location is good as it is close to old town. Wide variety for breakfast. Overall if you don't need to stay here just don't

Average room. Average breakfast. Dont try to ask for anything though, staff are non-existent. Front desk was helpful re wifi. but could not help me to mail a letter unless it already had a stamp. How would a tourist on a packaged tour have time to visit the post office to buy a stamp?

Positive things: surprisingly tasty food at the in-house restaurant; polite and helpful staff at the restaurant and reception; nice view over the city from the rooms and top-floor conference centre, good location close to the historical city centre. Unfortunately, the physical condition of the room undermines the above positive aspects. The room appears to be from 90ies, wear and tear is very visible, inconvenient shower facility and water temperature rapidly changing from hot to cold and back,... Read more

Arrived hours ago with Gate 1 and pleased with their choice. The lobby, 4 swift elevators, spacious lounge, and adequate seating in the morning breakfast room. Attentive staff. The room was somewhat small in square footage and could use an updaye but plenty of storage for more than a one night stay. Linens are crisp and bathroom has glass enclosed shower/tub. I haven't checked out the fitness/pool amenities but certain they are modest in size....but at least offered. Location to the downtown ... Read more

Hotel is close to everything including several tram ways. There Are a couple of food stalls within a couple of minutes of walk. It is probably the first western style hotel in Zagreb and its age shows, but it is being renovated and looks fresh. Went in a tour group. Zagreb itself is very so so.

We stayed 1 night when we're on a package tour of Croatia in Sep 2016. The location of the hotel is very good, we walked to the city centre easily, lots to see and do there. However the room is very dated although quite good sized. We had dinner and breakfast there, both buffet styled. The staff especialy during dinner were not friendly and efficient at all. Signalled them to request for drinks but were told to wait! Only half way through the dinner before one staff came to take our wine orders... Read more

This hotel is located in mid town. They had no aircondition in the hotel when we stayed there and we had to open the windows to get air in and that let a lot of noise in because it is located a main street. The restaurant was below average and the service was not good. The breakfast buffett was average at best.

So happy I chose to stay one more time in this Hotel. I couldn´t believe my eyes when I saw Tanja Dedic was still there. I knew that was going to guaranteed me a perfect stay. Thanks Tanja again for everything. Getting out of your way to guide me everywhere I needed to go in Zagreb was really kind. You really make this hotel a 10 stars hotel. Thank you and the rest of the staff.

The Westin is modern by the standards of 1960. It is apparently the destination for visiting dignitaries mainly because it is a place were security is easy to maintain. It's the tallest building in the area and it stands alone. It's large, the rooms are certainly comfortable and well kept. The breakfast is just acceptable. The best thing is the location. This is near the opera house and a short walking distance from pedestrian streets filled with drinking establishments and some restaurants. Zag... Read more

A very comfortable place to spend sometime exploring the Croatian capital. There are many excellent restaurants and fascinating museums within a few blocks. There is great shopping close by as well. If you are not into walking, the trolley service is easy and fast. Staff at the Westin are friendly and helpful. Do not believe the printed guidebooks that claim this is a 4-star property. Online, the hotel's official webpage states that they are 3.8, but after staying there 3 days and 2 nights, I'd stay they are a 3-star. They are terribly overdue for a major renovation, especially the guest rooms. For now, someone should remind them about truth in advertising.

I stayed there attending a business conference. The location is good, about 15 minute walk to the old town, shops and restaurants. The building, public areas and rooms are very simple and outdated. The front office staff is very courteous, polite and helpful. The concierge was also very good. Breakfast was a good choice , fresh and good selection (for a Balkan hotel). Lunch was just ok. I also used the gym, and though it gets cramped at peak hours, it was ok for me. All in all, it is a g... Read more

Normally I would start a review with some positive comments such as location etc., but for this hotel I struggled because from arrival to check out, the hotel consistently fails. No valet parking and no assistance with luggage despite the fact that we were paying extra for parking. There was a 15 minute delay during check in as they tried to reconcile my old address on the system with my new address. The phones in the room also did not work, both of them (!), so we had to go to the bar to plac... Read more

This hotel is very popular for business meetings, conferences, trade shows, and it is too hectic for a relaxing vacation. When we arrived, the parking lot was full and it was a traffic nightmare to finally get a spot. They agreed to only charge us for one night, but I thought they should have been even more gracious. I most enjoyed the breakfast at this hotel because the waitresses were very nice and we didn't have to buy the whole buffet. We could order off the menu and it was very good, especi... Read more

Stayed in this hotel in October 4 nights on business. We got a special room rate due to an international event, but we still found it bit overpriced. The hotel needs renovations which are done each night after 10:00 pm mostly in the lobby. However, the rooms still look okay, if you look at them well, you can realize that they need an update too. The breakfast offers lots of options including champagne, but every day itis usually all the same. The fruit selection and fruit salads are very good. F... Read more

I love Zagreb, everything about it... I think throughout this year's I expected more of Westin. They claim 5 stars, but it is not even close to range of 5 star hotels compare to USA. Food is excellent, the service could be better I have to admit. Also their rooms have this wierd smell. They are clean and neat but it doesn't give me that 5 star feeling. I stayed 5 nights. What is great is the fitness center inside, the hugest one I've ever seen. I didn't go to the pool. Rooms are not so impressive like a standard business room without charm. As we say "devil is in details" what is more surprising is about the cleaning that is closer to any change than up to perfect place. We were on vacation, but we arrived at the same time as the Davis Cup as well as a convention and cruise ship. The hotel was full to capacity. The staff did their best to accommodate our early check in request at 9am. We finally got to our room at 12:30pm. The room had a great city view. The rooms are good size and the beds very comfortable. The shower was a little confusing to figure out, but overall a great stay.

Stayed one night for a business conference. Decent enough, but I cannot say I would go out of my way to stay here again. Room was fine, good bed and pillows. Wifi worked fine.. wide selection at breakfast and attentive staff. Coffee unfortunately was from a large urn, the type you have for conferences. Gym was large, but full of locals who had joined it, didn't get the sense that gym was cleaned often or adequately. Adequate but no charm or anything out of the ordinary for a busy chain hotel.

Was having a very high expectation from Westin which we have stayed in many other Westin around the world. This is definitely not to the mark of my "Westin" as I've ever visited. The place looks abit old and run down. I don't stay in many 5 star hotels. The room was like most I have stayed in, the lobby huge and opulent. There were several high speed elevators. I was disappointed in the breakfast buffet. The foods were crammed into quite a small location. There was so much china and flatware on the table it was difficult to eat. The service was however excellent. The hotel's location is great, very close to the opera house, museums and shopping.
