The apartments are neatly set on a small hill surrounded by pine forrest. As the Valamar website presents they are built in a mediterranean style indeed (exteriour) but they still boast with most of 1970's original equipment (interiour) that should be replaced as soon as possible. There are no other cons actually... except of the obvious simple standard of nowadays (wi-fi and tv are a must in such apartments). The prices are really cheap but I would gladly pay a bit more for better equiped apart... Read more

Who is writing all these other reviews, and what are they on? While the apartments are in a good location near the beach - only ten minutes' walk from Porec centre - and the nice pool at the adjacent Hotel Zagreb is available to use, the apartments themselves are unbelievably bad. Ours was dirty, and smelly, and full of bugs - we found caterpillars, centipedes, silverfish and others, possibly earwigs? And while it may be cheap in low season, it's not a particularly cheap option in August; we pai... Read more

We have visited Porec and stayed at the Pical apartments several times since 2008. I agree that the apartments are very dated and in need of modernisation but they are always clean with good quality bedding and towels are changed regularly. They represent excellent value ‚?? we paid ¬£370 for 9 nights The facilities that you can use at the Hotel Zagreb are superb and the staff is excellent. Yes, there is no wifi or a tv but why would you want that when you‚??ve got a beautiful place like Porec t... Read more

Ok if you want a post war communist theme park experience, electrics ancient and no RCCD breaker. On info sheet in apartment discovered house rules advise not to use sockets, so can't charge anything or use a kettle that isn't supplied anyway. No we know why. No bath plug supplied as when draining the bath bathroom floods with waste water up the floor drain. De laminated plywood bathroom door evidences years of this happening with no remedy. Full height glass doors fitted with none safety glass ... Read more

We arrived having made our booking through Booking . Com to find that the apartment was uninhabitible. The building has not been renovated for about 30 years, and when it was built in the Commi days it must have been fairly basic to start with. I went to the reception in the Hotel Zagreb to see if we could book into the hotel and pay the difference. The younge lady who helped us was very polite and super helpful. She immediately offered us an apartment that had been renovated, number 4H, which w... Read more

I was there for watching the Major porec volleyball. I was with my friend and boyfriend. The apartman pical was awesome. Two bedrooms. Living room and kitchen. There is a place for 6 people. It is cheap. Great location. Inside is cold. With no bugs. I would go again.

This review is based on our stay in mid September 2016, with low prices. In the main season the prices are several times higher (as I saw at the reception) and definitely too high for what they offer. But again: off season a top choice, in my opinion. Ok, it isn't a luxury stay in one of the old apartments from Yugoslavia, but they are clean, spacious, equipped with nearly everything you need and quite close to the beach. Unfortunately no Wifi there, just in the lobby of Hotel Zagreb, to which t... Read more
