I would have given this hotel a "good" rather than average; but this rating scale goes from average to very good and I am not willing to go that far. I found the rooms quite small and ditto for the bath. The shower in the high-sided tub could prove problematical to elderly or challenged people. When I arrived the Wi-Fi was lobby only (password protected). In a matter of a few hours the server was fixed to allow in-room Wi-Fi...thankfully. My bed was on wheels which actually moved it when I propp... Read more

Large rooms with nice bathrooms. Beds are comfortable and the breakfast is expansive and has a nice variety. The hotel is centrally located and allows you to walk through town or on the beach. There is a pool, but it's small for the number of rooms, so it's often very crowded. There's free internet, but it's only available in the lobby - not in the room.

Nice and clean hotel with spacious rooms. Near the coastline Beautifull rustic kitchen with dining space. . A little bit poor breakfast according to size acceptable. Free wifi available in the room. Much better than some hotels I visited that vere more expensive and classified better.

Upon arriving at this hotel it looks beautiful and grand. We arrived in the rear car park as we were disembarking from our coach (I was on a Leger Holidays tour) and we had to go up two flights to find reception. Check in was quick and friendly and I received an envelope with my room swipe card, two drinks vouchers and a voucher for free chocolate tasting which unfortunately went unused. My room was no. 98 which is just round the corner from reception. The room was beautiful and it smelled incre... Read more

You are centrally located along the beach main highway in this very touristy beach resort. The rooms are comfortable and roomy. We were there in May, so it was beginning to be warm, but was not their time to run the air conditioning, so we kept the windows open. Problem was that we faced the street where traffic, pedestrian and restaurant workers kept up a steady level of irritating noise until 2am. Go for a non-street room, recommended. The breakfast eating area is very crowded, almost an ... Read more

My sincere thanks to the staff of Hotel Agava. We had a medical incident while staying here and staff made every effort to accommodate our needs. My spouse ended up in hospital and while I was I residence at Hotel Agave every convenience and much kindness was given to me. I truly appreciate it. Breakfast has many variations that should please any taste/diet preference. The dining area is pleasant and attractively appointed. Our room and bath were spacious, I've heard otherwise. This was not my... Read more

We stayed here for two nights and era very pleased with everything. The hotel is centrally located and it is east to walk all over town. The staff greeted us with cookies and juice. Our room was quite large with a seating area. Everything was spotless. The staff was helpful and made some suggestions that were fun! We had a minor problem in the room which they addressed quickly and efficiently. The only issue I had was that the free wifi was not available in our room. There was good reception tho... Read more

I stayed here two nights in June 2016 as part of an organized tour. I enjoyed the stay very much. The hotel was clean and comfortable. My room was smallish, but adequate and very clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main part of town. I wish there had been a computer in the lobby for use by guests. If I am back in that area, I would certainly stay there again.

My boyfriend and I went for a little trip to Opatija! The city and its architecture is amazing and so was our Hotel! Our room was right at the top with the most beautiful balcony and sea view!! The room was very clean and cosy! The staff in the Hotel especially the receptionists were really friendly and helpful! The room and terrace where they serve breakfast was so pretty too! Breakfast was good and they had a good variety of different things! It was everyday exactly the same though so that aft... Read more

This hotel excels with location, service, comfort, and amenities. It's only limitation was wifi access only in the lobby. Our room #184 was a huge KNS room featuring loveseat, balcony, and sea view. It had a minibar, safe, hairdryer, shower/tub combo. The room had three small drawers plus ample closet space. The bed was clean and comfy. The bathroom large. Included breakfast included amazing pastries, made-to-order eggs and omelets, and other hot and cold options. The breakfast a... Read more

This 3* hotel certainly deserves a higher rating. Quick and efficient check in, helpful and courteous staff, spacious seaview room including a single occupancy. The breakfast buffet a bargain at ‚?¨5 per person. Location couldn't be beat for easy access to center and the Lungo Mare. Newly opened Beach club at sister hotel Royal is a nice added bonus. Be prepared to pay ‚?¨30 for 2 chaises/umbrella. It is a small space unfortunately serving the Millennium group hotels. I would definitely recommen... Read more

This hotel had large rooms and bathrooms with wood floors, comfortable beds and a couch. Room 270 had a great view of the sea. The only downside was the doorstop in the bathroom was right in front of the toilet so we had to be careful not to trip. The excellent breakfast had a good variety of items to choose from.

The best thing about Agava was the staff. They are "beautiful people". Reception-cum-laundry person, Bar-cum-restaurant waitress, front desk manager-cum-parking attendant ...... They are everywhere. And with a smile, a joke, a flirt, an advice, a recommendation, a wish...... They may not be ritz carlton type remembering-your-name type of people, but they are caring and want to bring you happiness. There was a smithering of irritants but I don't want to harp on those because they were small and... Read more

Our room had 14' ceiling so it felt cavernous, not cozy. And the layout of the halls and rooms are a bit odd. But everything works, breakfast is amazing and the employees we met seemed genuinely concerned. Love the location.

We were given a nice, spacious and very comfortable corner room with a lovely view of the park next door. The room was perfect and quiet. The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Boyan (not sure of spelling) came out to the street when we arrived, helped us with the parking and carried our luggage from the car to the reception. He provided excellent customer service the entire stay. The breakfast was also very nice and in such a pleasant atmosphere. We would stay here again! Gr... Read more

Rooms seem to vary. Ours was very very small - no room to even keep our suitcase. Room smelled like sewage. We asked that they put in a room deodorizer , which they did,and we left the windows open to tolerate it. Good location, historical and you are able to use amenities in the other hotels with the same owner. Only used the room to sleep in. I'm not overly picky and rarely complain but if I could I would change hotels. Wifi is free. There is no pool and we have no water view.

We were in room 278 which faced the front of the building. A large room with lots of character and stunning ceilings. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff are great. The but... comes from the bath facilities. The tub/shower has very high sides and is extremely difficult to get out of, some serious acrobatics needed to dismount safely . There is also a flourishing amount of black mold around the tub which was very off putting.

When I complained there was no internet on the second floor, I was told I shouldn't be concerned about the internet, because I am on vacation. The bartender even went so far as to suggest that there was something wrong with me because I wanted to get connected with my loved ones at home. My only option is a chair and table in front of the reception desk, where the internet works. I will never stay here again. They are not ready for prime time. Also the room is very warm, and there is no ... Read more

I enjoyed staying at Agava, very nice hotel, very clean and tidy. Kind staff with smile and ready to help. Unfortunatelly, they picked for me the room at the attic, with no balcony or any view. I have to compliment the breakfast, too. Very rich, varied and fresh. Location is excellent, on the main street, close to center and not far away from the coast.

The location of the Agava is central in Opatija, so it's simple to walk anywhere. The breakfast room was very homey, with milk products in a decorated refrigerator, and long tables for group dining. I loved room 92 on the main floor. It was huge with two beds, a writing desk and a sofa. There was a large balcony, perfect for an afternoon drink, and the wifi worked perfectly. It is next to the large park, so a room on the park side would be quieter.

Pluses : in a city center, free Wi-Fi,neat rooms, balcony or in our case veranda. Minus: no parking place even if there are 2 floors.Ticket for a parking which we got due to that. We just couldn't understand how some hotel with so many rooms can have so little parking spaces.Even if it was the Saturday when we arrived there is no excuse for a capacity rating which is awful. So basically many rooms and a little parking spaces... Not the worst, not the best.Would be better if we had a place to pa... Read more

Milenij Hotel Agava Hotel is well located in a lovely old building. But be aware that some rooms are very small and very dark with limited ventilation. Choose your room carefully, I believe there are nicer rooms, unfortunately our room was not one of the ‚??pleasant‚?? ones!
