Hotel Croatia Car arrival easy by GPS, it is very well located. For those who are driving, parking is available in the gardens of hotel entrance. A pleasant 15-minute walk takes you to the city center with everything that is most important as trade in general, charming restaurants and various taxi-boats to other islands. Hotel back entrance grants the gardens and is just next to the Hula Hula important "point" of the waterfront for drinks and sunset viewing. The hotel is old. One sees this in th... Read more

Because of the refugee situation, we had a difficult time making it out to Hvar. The hotel worked with us to switch the nights we stayed there without charing us extra for the change. The rooms themselves were not anything special but they were fine for two nights. The view on the walk down to the beach is completely amazing. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and it smells very nice outside. The hot tub outside is not warm or cleaned very often. It is a tough 15 minute walk to get to the h... Read more

We stayed here for 1 night. Had a lovely room with a bit of a view (blocked by trees). Enjoyed time in the hot tub. Quite noisy as you could hear music from a local beach. About a 20 minute walk into town. Food lovely but expensive. Good breakfast options. Good size modern room. Nice touches - like offering postcards to post home. Very nice and good to be away from main sectino of Hvar town.

Myself, my husband and 2 kids (14 & 10) stayed last July for 3 glorious nights. We loved Hotel Croatia so much and fell in love with Hvar. Is it a 5star Modern Mega Resort? No. That's the charm of it. During busy season it was wonderful to be so close to town yet tucked away in a quiet area about a 10 minute easy stroll along the waterfront into Hvar. We appreciated not being high up on a hill in that summer heat! Our room was small but lovely and clean. The view from our large terrace was ab... Read more

This hotel was really good value for money vs the other hotels in Hvar Town but the compromise for saving a few pounds is that it's a 15minute walk the the centre of Hvar Town - which is a lovely walk along the coast so we didn't mind at all. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The public areas are very well looked after and the breakfast was a good offering of cereals, pancakes, eggs, continental style meats and vegetables/fruits along with juice, tea and coffee. The only down side... Read more

Loved Hotel Croatia , it was a little bit Old Hollywood ... Just loved it. Staff were great, food fabulous . Great position and superb views from our balcony .Only thing wrong we had to leave. Nothing was too much trouble Mario was great with our choices for dinner. Our lovely breakfast waitress from Zadar was a gem . Would recommend Hvar as a great place too

We stayed at hotel Croatia for 2 nights and it was really nice, the building is stunning and in a fantastic location and good value. Rooms are a little old fashioned but it had everything we needed and the view from the terrace of the room was unbelievable ! Breakfast was great and staff very helpful. If I ever go back I would defiantly stay again.

Good location and fairly easy to find by car. But the rooms are quite sad, 1970's/80's style radiators and shower cubicles in a terrible layout, huge bulky TV, sagging mattress, ancient lock on door so you had to lock it or it wouldn't stay closed, etc., although at least the aircon worked fine. If you had breakfast you wouldn't think of having dinner there, but only 10-15 mins walk into town. Pleasant gardens and close to the beach and Hula Hula Bar, where the music fortunately stops by 11pm. W... Read more

Really enjoyed our stay here for 5 nights the staff are amazing so polite and helpful consistently the hotel itself is beautiful the room we stayed in was a little dated especially the bathroom but it was enough and they did a good job sprucing the bedroom up to look good the location is unreal too perfect walk and the hula hula bar which has great music and vibe all day and night is minutes away!

We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Croatia. The setting was stunning - a short (but hot!) walk around the bay from the ferry from Split. The fact that there was a beautiful pebble beach just at the lower entrance meant that it was really easy to roll out of bed and go and relax in the shore for the day. It's right next to Hula Bar too for people who want something a bit more lively or a lunch with a view. It could've improved with real coffees and juices at breakfast but overall we'd definitel... Hotel Croatia has been created from a beautiful old villa with nicely appointed gardens leading down to the sea. The owners are investing in the property, installing a lift in 2015, but a couple of small - and not necessarily expensive changes - would lift this from a nice hotel to a great hotel. Specifically, the owners need to sort out the wifi which currently requires you to sign in over & over again with an 8 to 10 digit code, and there are no safes in the room (just at Reception). The 1... Read more

Hvar is now extremely popular with young people who seem to stay in apartments and or hostels and this hotel is 900 meters from the beautiful center of the old town. The beach is 80 meters from the hotel door and 20 meters from th gate! It is a pebbly beach and safe for all, once you get in! We swam our usual 1 km a day round the buoyed off swimming area. The views are super but we chose to save money by having a rom overlooking the garden rather than the sea on the grounds of being out all day... Read more

Remember it is a 3 star hotel and under this rating it is a great hotel! Lovely garden and view from the room of the sea. Easy walking distance to both town and beach. Room basic and functional. A good hearty breakfast and great staff. All over for the price perfect!

We where looking to eat with friends in the restaurant, they where staying there we was not, the waiter was very rude when we asked to sit by friends and was told we couldn't, the menu was very minimal and when we asked about specials the guy did not really understand even though they had a specials board, at this point we walked out and will never return

The location was good.. the main hula hula bar on the seaside is a minute s walk from the hotel. Although we had booked a suite, we had to shift to two separate rooms as the suite was too small for four adults plus it did not have an attached bathroom. The manager was very sweet and let us stay in separate rooms. The breakfast spread could have been better. Only one lady catering to all the guests at breakfast time but she was very efficient. There was no bellboy to help us with our luggage. If ... Read more

Rooms are very dated and not very clean. The bathrooms are very old as well. They don't even have flat TVs. Not that I watch telly when on holidays but it is a bit of an eye sore in this day and age. The lady at the reception was extremely unfriendly and rude. I came to complain about the big brown stains on my bed and she left me there boiling and took on other customers. I was not offered even a simple apology. Nor was I given a hand with the luggage although it was really obvious that I was s... Read more

Date of stay: 5 September 2016 to 7 September 2016 No. of rooms: 2 Excellent location (right next to Hula Hula Bar), 15mins walking to main square. beautiful views. Breakfast spread could have been better. We asked to speak to the chef to make our omlettes the way we want but were told no. Service on the whole is very good. Manager, receptionist and other staff are very helpful. Only advice is if possible please send staff to the port for luggage is possible given the amount you charging.

The hotel Croatia is an exceptional property. Location, service, the rooms make it a real jewel. The pine forest gives an idea to be far from the town and yet you can get there walking in 10-15 minutes. The Jacuzzi in the park is another point of incredible pleasure. Add the excellent breakfast, and food and you have but a small picture . So the only way is to go and enjoy the hospitality of this family hotel. To tell a secret. I am travelling a lot and rarely stay in a hotel more than 2 nights... Read more

Lovely hotel in Hvar. About 10 min walk to city by walking road next to see. Hotel rooms tidy and good beds. Beach near and some bars. Hotel restaurant serving excellent food but during our visit there was only one girl serving and terace was almost full booked. Felt sorry for this lovely waitress that she was left alone to serve. People just left when she had no time to take orders. Hotel management should fix this better. Otherwise staff was very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was excellent.... Read more

Location fab but that's were it ends. Rooms dated and cramped and bathrooms very old . Our plastic shower cubicle was hardly staying together. One waiter for all evening meals and he was struggling to cope. Food not up to scratch and although breakfast was supposed to be from eight, on our day of departure the one waitress was still trying to get it out. I complained about the food and service and the poorly done laundry and came to an agreement on the costs. It's in need of a major facelift

My wife and I stayed 1 night in September. The hotel is located steps away from the beach. The rooms are a nice size but dated. The bathroom is definitely in need of a make-over. The staff was nice and helpful with the exception of our dining experience. Our meals were not very good and my wife and I ate less than half and we indicated to the waiter that we did not enjoy our meal. There was no empathy on his part and when I brought this up to the hotel their response was not in line with expecta... Read more

Great location, steps from the beach. 15 min walk from the city centre through a scenic walking pad next to the see. The rooms are dated and tiny. Bedding is hard and could be more comfortable. Sea views are stunning, the area is peaceful and quiet. The restaurant is a bit old fashioned, serve good food but prices are on the high side. The service is lacking a bit of enthusiasm. However, the hotel management is very helpful and has a great sense of customer service.
