We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Stari Grad! The rooms are very nice, the people are so friendly and helpful, and the food was great!! The view from the top terrace is beautiful! Also, the hotel is in a great location, so it makes it very easy to walk around Dubrovnik. We hope to go back some day!

This quaint, small hotel is right in the middle of old town. The service is unbelievable - especially Jelena, Natasha, and the two Majas. Breakfast is included and you den in the only rooftop restaurant in the old town. Great location, great room, and great service - what more can you ask for?

Beautiful hotel in charming side street just off the Main Street. Staff are all very kind and attentive. As you will read on other reviews, no elevator so trip to the upper floors is a bit of a trek with 69 steps to the fourth floor where we were based (402)) and about another 20 to get to the roof top restaurant where breakfast is served and where we recommend you go for an exquisite dinner looking over the dusk of Dubrovnik. But it's well worth it and think of the extra calories burned off. O... Read more

Booked 1 night at the Stari Grad in the middle of our weeks stay in Mlini so we could get the best out of our visit to Dubrovnik. What a great little hotel with a fantastic location just of The Stradun. I'd sent a couple of emails prior to arriving and got replies almost instantly. I knew check in wasn't until 2pm but we called in just to leave our overnight bag & we were offered to check straight in, we were over the moon. It was very friendly & welcoming. The rooms are snug and slightly sm... Read more

Beautiful boutique hotel in a 16th century nobleman's house in the center of the old city. Modern, elegant and comfortable, charming staff and breathtaking rooftop terrace for breakfast and dinner. We had both - dinner was excellent, breakfast was ok.

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Dubrovnik and enjoyed staying at this wonderful boutique hotel. Our room was on the third floor. The room was clean, bright and newly renovated. It was lovely by any standard. Staying right inside the Old Town made our experience very convenient. The breakfast is included in the price of the room and it was lovely to eat outdoors viewing the beautiful city! The staff is very welcoming, professional and helpful. LOVED it!

My husband and I spent three nights here while on our week long honeymoon in Croatia. We decided to stay here while we were in Croatia for many reasons including the rooftop terrace, the size of the hotel (it only has three rooms) and the location. Being able to stay in the heart of the old city really was invaluable. During the day, there are many tours that come into the city. However, Dubrovnik seems to be a city that stays up late (many shops are open until 11pm) and to be able to walk down ... Read more

We spent two nights at the Stari Grad before joining a small ship cruise of the Croatian islands. The hotel is tucked away down one of the many side streets right in the centre of Dubrovnik, so really fantastic location for bars, restaurants and all that you want to do whilst you are there. The hotel is in a very old building and, I believe, there are 8 bedrooms on four floors. There is no lift and with breakfast being served on the roof top terrace [which is a great location and the only one... Read more

We stayed here for a night during our two week stay in Croatia. The hotel is perfectly located in the old town! We arrived boiling hot and was immediately offered drinks on the roof terrace. Whilst there are lots of stairs, the view when you arrive is truly immense! The only roof top restaurant in the old town, it is quite something. The gentlemen who served our drinks was lovely, he was well travelled and we enjoyed our conversation about places to see in Croatia. We didn't eat our evening me... Read more

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and we were pleased with our choice. It's located just a few minutes walk from the Pile Gate (no vehicles inside the Old Town except early morning for deliveries) where we got off the shuttle bus from the airport. The hotel is up a narrow alley (there are a lot of those in Dubrovnik!) and also offers its own restaurant. The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming and proved helpful during our stay with advice, directions and an iPhone charger! There ... Read more

We stayed at the Stari Grad on the recommendation of two of our daughters, who have stayed and loved it.We had a 5 night stay at the height of the tourist season. We stayed on the 4th floor, with 5 flights of stairs as there is no lift. The room is small, but comfortable and equipped with a small mini bar and storage. The bathroom is spacious and modern. There's no view but breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace- the only one in the old town, and it is spectacular! This little hotel is lov... Read more

We decided to stay in the walled city for our short visit to Dubrovnik, as that was the main attraction we planned to visit. There are only two hotel choices, and this is closest to the most convenient city gate - which is important depending on how much (and how heavy) luggage you have! The hotel is well maintained and very clean. Only two rooms on each floor, so quite intimate and quiet. The staff were very friendly, and, importantly, were happy to help with the luggage. We had breakfast ... Read more

The hotel was gorgeous. It's very small but very very well updated and maintained. The bathroom was updated with the most modern features available (body jets, towel heater, new toilet, etc). The location was unbelievable within the old city walls right off the main street. Breakfast on the roof was amazing with great food and picture perfect views. It seems to be the only rooftop of its kind in the entire old city. The only down side was it gets a little loud at night but everything seems... Read more

The Stari Grad is an excellent hotel in a great location, right in the heart of the old walled town. You can easily walk to all the restaurants, bars and sites of the old town and when it gets too hot, quickly retire to the air conditioned hotel. The hotel is located in one of the attractive very narrow side streets of the old town and is close to the Pile gate (important as the old town is traffic free and you have to carry your luggage within the old town). We were concerned about noise lev... Read more

After staying an 8 minute walk up a hill from town in Hvar (which I'm not complaining about as it worked for us in that city) Im so happy we chose to stay inside the walls in Dubrovnik. What a cool town. And Hotel Stari Grad was just so perfect for my freind and I. The location is perfect. Enjoying breakfast on the only rooftop terrace in town was delightful. And it was cooked to order breakfast, not a buffet. And was included in the room rate. The staff was very friendly. And for a hotel locate... Read more

Rather than rent an apartment in old town, I stayed at the Stari Grad - and was glad I did. Others on our trip opted to rent an apartment located on the "high" side of the town, some up many steep steps, which can be a challenge when you have a large suitcase. The Stari Grad does not have an elevator. Rooms are clean, modern and well appointed. Rooftop restaurant offers a beautiful view of the city. Hotel is very close to the Stradun - the main street in old town.

This is a great little secret in the old city. Modern rooms and a great bar downstairs on the first floor. Be advised that if you get a room on the higher floors, you will have to use the stairs since there are no elevators anywhere in the old city. But it is very much worth it. The owners are the best and very friendly and engaging. We had an awesome time chatting with them and the staff.

Thank you sedi and Alan for your hospitality. In a town where there are plethora of tourists and tourist traps. This is indeed a genuine place for warm hospitality, good stories and great drinks. I loved my visit to this place and would recommend anyone visiting old town.

We are currently in Dubrovnik staying at the Hotel Stari Grad. We chose this hotel because we wanted to be in the Old City and because of previously good reviews. Our stay has exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel is really, really nice. It is situated just off the Main Street, the Stradun, about a 5 minute walk from the main entrance to the old city, the Gradska vrata Pile. The hotel has been recently modernised and is presented in excellent condition. We stayed in room 102 on the first f... Read more

The location is perfect. right in the middle of old town Dubrovnik. Nice restaurant on top with amazing views. Service there is slow, but then again...what's the rush? Good food, good company, amazing views. Perfect. Rooms were well appointed. No elevator so not a good fit for those with limitations.

The hotel is situated in the old town area one block off the main boulvard and close to the entry gate to the old city. This is important because no cars are allowed in the old city so you have to take you luggage out of the city beyond the gates for transportation. We had a very nice, clean room with all the modern amenities (except for the 50 steps we had to walk to get to our room). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had booked a five night stay at the Stari Grad for September 2015 but unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute due to ill health. A year on and we arrived and I have to say it was well worth the wait! The hotel is in the old city and therefore within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. There are eight rooms spread over four floors. Our room was on the first floor, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and there is the ... Hotel Stari Grad is a small (8 room) hotel within the walls of the Old Town in Dubrovnik, a perfect location near historical and cultural sights, as well as restaurants and shops. Although Old Town is pedestrian only; the Hotel Stari Grad is an easy walk from the taxi drop-off at one of the gates to Old Town. The accomodations are lovely, the hotel is clean and recently renovated. Although the hotel is in a busy area with restaurants and bars, we were unable to hear street noise with the window...
