Taylor Inn Bed and Breakfast - San Jose Downtown, San Jose Overview:

Taylor`s Inn Bed and Breakfast is located within San Jose’s Barrio Amón, a National Heritage area recognized for its architectural and cultural value to Costa Rica. Taylor`s Inn Bed and Breakfast opens its door to the traveling public, who wish to relax in comfort while exploring San Jose’s city treasures.

Taylor’s Inn was originally constructed as a home in 1908 by an Italian, Adriano Arié Vaselli. The structure`s notable features include brickwork and wrought-iron detailing as well as a beautiful central patio, which is surrounded by rooms.

In 1918 Señor Arié rented the house to then-Minister of Education Don Miguel Obregón Lizano (who also won the National Citizen Merit Award) for 70 colones per month (15 cents of a dollar today). Minister Obregón was enchanted by the lovely home and purchased it for 9,000 (17 dollars) colones; generations of the Obregón family lived here until 1995.

In 1996, this historic home was purchased by Señor Jorge Taylor. Experienced in the tourist industry and inspired by the idea of bed and breakfasts, Señor Taylor decided to rename and remodel this historic structure, while converting it into a small hotel. Taylor’s Inn Bed and Breakfast now opens its door to the traveling public, who wish to relax in comfort while exploring San Jose’s city treasures.
