We were most excited about this hotel on our 10-day trip, and I really wish I were giving this 5 stars. The hotel is in an amazing location with incredible views and the rooms are lovely. If we had stayed away from the restaurant I might add a star, but we didn't. The staff was very nice but disorganized (new staff) so expect to confirm your own activities. The $60 pre fix menu is pricey for Costa Rica, and in a country with exceptional cuisine the food was downright bad. There are two options:... Read more

We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed it more than we initially expected to! During our first couple of hours here we were a bit apprehensive, given we had just come from a lovely place in another part of the peninsula, that there was no phone in the room in case we needed anything (this is still an issue I think that the management should address as at around $500 per day for a minimum five nights at the time of our booking they can surely afford such basics), that the staff appeared a bit fl... Casa Chameleon is set on a hill overlooking the jungle and the ocean. So picturesque an the staff is wonderful. We had our own small pool and I don't think I have ever relaxed so much. We loved that it was secluded.....I know there are other villas, but you really don't even see them with the foliage. So if you love crowds, this probably isn't for you. Everything was top notch, beds were comfy, pillows were nice and fluffy, everything was beautiful and clean. Staff is exceptionally well-tr... Read more

I wanted to like this place so much. We were treated very well by staff -- David, Junior, Andres, and Jaime -- and I want to specifically mention those people as being outstanding ambassadors of their company, this resort, and their country. They made us feel welcome in every respect. However.... The first incident occurred about the 2nd day -- I booked a surfing lesson at Playa Hermosa through Maria, their front desk person. I asked Maria where I would need to go, what the name of the com... Read more

All the staff went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful. The location is beautiful, the villas are very nice and private and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Watching howler monkeys go about their business in the rainforest while having a drink in your private pool is a wonderful experience. On the negative side, it must be mentioned that the hill up to the hotel is "somewhat challenging". Also, considering the price you pay, breakfast not being included does not feel right. Ov... What can be said about Hotel Casa Chameleon except 'Pura Vida'!! From the moment we booked a Villa with Victoria to even when our Sansea flight needed to be grounded due to the hurricane the day before, heart reaches out to all that have lost in the hurricane, and taking a taxi to the ferry that added an extra 5 hours to get there which we watched the sunset from the ferry and Ulises still greeted us home with a passion fruit drink. The amazing breakfast and freshest fruits, catch of the day w... Read more

This hotel stay was the best hotel experience we have ever had. We were in the Palmas Villa - dramatic view of the Pacific, rich exotic woods, travertine floors, crisp linens - a perfect blend of modern and traditional, and refined and rustic. The villas are very private - our only visitor was the cutest white-faced monkey who came to our porch to check us out. We did the adventure package which included breakfast and dinner every day. This was such a good decision for us. First, the food was... Read more

Excellent, warm welcoming staff and great team who would go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one and feel at home in paradise. Highly recommend anyone who wants to visit Costa rico. The Chefs are top chefs who gave us a 5 star quality unique dishes and mouthwatering entrees. Had a couples massage at our own porch after watching the sunset, was also a highlight of our stay.

Casa Chameleon has the best rooms, staff, service, food, drinks, and of course ocean views of any hotel from Mal Paid to Playa Hermosa. We made friends with every single member of the staff and even got some of their email addresses and facebook info to stay in touch. Choose Casa Chameleon, it is worth every penny.

We stayed here for 9 nights in the wettest month of the year! but loved every part of it ,great food a little on the expensive side. What makes this place is it's location and staff , the birds and butterflies, monkeys and other wild life , great view from out lovely suite. Really can't recommend it enough ! Staff really helpful but not intrusive. birthday cake for my husband , let us use their Gopro and even sent on the memory card after we left, Grounds beautiful maintained. JUST GREAT!
