Let me start by saying that the town and the hotel are difficult to get to...the best places always are. The room and the view is definitely among the best I've stayed anywhere in the world. The pool opening out of the bedroom and the living room is amazing and I spent many many hours here. The people working here are great and you can tell that good service is important to them. The food in the restaurant is magnificent...the chef is extremely talented and I think should seek to reach a big... Read more

We stayed here for 9 days, probably longer than most guests, and loved our stay. Whilst most couples were here on honeymoon, we were actually celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary! We had been upgraded to one of the new villas which we loved. Stunning views, peaceful & luxurious. The bi folding doors opened the room up to the outside & we were surprised( but delighted) that we had no insects/ wildlife joining us inside. In fact there were no mosquitos or flies during our stay & made eating ou... Read more

We were very excited to stay at Casa Chameleon for our honeymoon. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The AC unit was unable to keep the room cool on the lowest setting and was not able to cool the bathroom off at all. The bathroom has an open ceiling to the rest of the room which is kind of awkward. I thought the hotel would do something special to recognize our recent wedding, but nothing was done despite there only being one other party on the grounds. Pablo (chef) and ... Read more

Stayed for 3 nights, and had the best time ever. If you are looking for a really peaceful place to spend time to relax and have fun with your significant one, this is a great option. Going to Mal PaĆs is walking distance and most recommended go to Santa Teresa. Great service, great place, great time!

This place is amazing. Most of all the staff. Andrea is an amazing hostess, bartender, manager?, and even suggested great local places to see. But not just her, they are all awesome. The cabins are amazing, secluded, and each have a great view. Can't recommend this place enough.

Casa Cameleon is a treasure. The rooms, the service, the food and beverage were all exceptional !! We planned to eat out more locally but each meal was such an amazing feast that we ate all our meals with this amazing culinary team and service team. Memorable !

Definitely a stay we'll never forget! Casa Chameleon puts customer service first and makes your stay an unforgettable experience. The location was very peaceful and relaxing, all villas are bordered by the jungle with a view of the Pacific that makes you not want to leave your room. We were able to see monkeys in the trees, not a bad idea to take binoculars! The dining experience with Pabro Sanchez is a must, enjoy a dinner during your stay. Before you arrive they get to know you and your likes/... Read more

We fully enjoyed spending our Honeymoon at Casa Chameleon. Our bungalow was perfectly decorated (old world hip vibe). Staff was courteous and extremely helpful. The cleanliness was top notch. This was the nicest room/hotel we both have ever stayed in. Would highly recommend to any and all of our friends.

This was the highlight of our Costa Rica experience. The hotel has a beautiful view, an amazing room, incredible staff, delicious food and provides an unparalleled experience. We didn't even leave the first day to go to the beach because we were enjoying the hotel that much. Also, all the food was made from scratch using natural, mostly healthy ingredients and was delicious. The chef also will cook you a homemade fresh dinner every night. It is a tad expensive, but still very tasty if you ca... Read more

I do not think there is a more romantic place on this earth than Casa Chameleon. We came for our honeymoon and had a phenomenal time. Since there are only 8-10 villas the staff is very small- which means you get to know every single one of them. And they were all fantastic and genuine individuals. We rented an ATV for every day we were there (which I would highly recommend) and got to explore Mal Pais and Santa Teresa. AT A MINIMUM, rent an ATV one day and drive from Casa Chameleon to Mon... My wife and I spent a week here in March. Eat breakfast and dinner at the Chameleon. Best food in the area! We could easily spend an entire day at our villa. There is Plenty to do in the area when we wanted to explore. I highly recommend the Casa Chameleon!

Pros: Gorgeous villa suites, impeccable service, friendly staff, location in paradise, peace and quiet, proximity to endless pristine, empty beaches, divine cocktails, romance, romance, romance. Cons: Do NOT book this property via a third party website, no matter what. You will not be told by anyone, but booking directly through their site may save you upwards of a thousand dollars. You will still pay full price to the establishment when you catch the fish for lunch, or dinner because you are... Read more

Came here on our honeymoon. The villa was wonderful, but for almost $500 a night? I would expect at least breakfast to be included with that price. The dinner we had when we arrived was delicious, but yet again, over priced. We left still a bit hungry. We hated that there were no curtains to the windows.. we wanted to be able to sleep in. It would have been nice if they offered board games since there isn't much else to do than swim. The service was good and the staff helped us book a day trip w... Read more

My husband and I went to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It was an amazing place to stay and we loved it. However, we both agree that we probably wouldn't go there again. It was a once in a lifetime splurge, and we don't regret it for a second. Location: Loved how out of the way it was and that we got to see secluded parts of CR. Santa Theresa, Playa Hermosa, Mal Pais all beautiful and unique. Getting there was difficult. We took the ferry and drove to get into Casa Chameleon, and flew out of Ta... Read more

As unique an experience as you`ll get in the jungle. Jungle means jungle: critters, varmints, birds out of a field guide, iguanas and coati roaming the grounds.. Breakfast with the toucans and trogons; Kudos to the staff for making it memorable: Junior, Andres, Jeimy, Ignacios, and Ulises, and the chef. Take the package that includes a mini SUV and a nature hike and fishing trip (caught six and the chef prepared them for lunch and dinner. Junior and Andres make you fruit drinks using local ingr... First of all, I would like to thank all the staff for setting bar so high, as our first stop in 2 week Costa Rica trip. We stayed in the Ultra Villa, and purchased the adventure package from the website, which includes breakfast/3 course dinner, 2 excursions, and ATV rental. Food: Amazing!! If you are a foody, you will appreciate the talents of Jose Luis, who creates a fresh menu daily, with all fresh and local ingredients. Room: gorgeous!! Our room was completely private and secluded. Casa Chameleon has the best rooms, staff, service, food, drinks, and of course ocean views of any hotel from Mal Paid to Playa Hermosa. We made friends with every single member of the staff and even got some of their email addresses and facebook info to stay in touch. Choose Casa Chameleon, it is worth every penny.

This hotel stay was the best hotel experience we have ever had. We were in the Palmas Villa - dramatic view of the Pacific, rich exotic woods, travertine floors, crisp linens - a perfect blend of modern and traditional, and refined and rustic. The villas are very private - our only visitor was the cutest white-faced monkey who came to our porch to check us out. We did the adventure package which included breakfast and dinner every day. This was such a good decision for us. First, the food was... Read more

What can be said about Hotel Casa Chameleon except 'Pura Vida'!! From the moment we booked a Villa with Victoria to even when our Sansea flight needed to be grounded due to the hurricane the day before, heart reaches out to all that have lost in the hurricane, and taking a taxi to the ferry that added an extra 5 hours to get there which we watched the sunset from the ferry and Ulises still greeted us home with a passion fruit drink.
