Let's start off with good...The grounds were beautiful. The beach, just O.K. Had a great view of a pretty sunset. The room was horrendous. It was not clean, the bathroom was extremely scary, with mold everywhere, hair that was not ours and gross things on the inside of the shower walls. The room had mold everywhere. They tried to cover it up with paint, however the paint was coming off and you could see it in the walls. The food was a disappointment and had to go into town to buy our own ... Read more

We weren't looking to stay in Tamarindo, but someone recommended Barcelo Playa Langosta.. Best decision we made, we traveled with our 6 year old granddaughter, the attention we received from the staff was amazing, especially from Joselyn Quiros and Einat Castro, they were so patient and sweet not only to my granddaughter, but to the other children.. The staff at the restaurant were also very attentive.. Thank you to Johan Solis and Jorge Arias Solano! I'm very positive that we will return again ... Read more

4 ladies (2 rooms) stayed for a week. The service was great. Everyone was friendly (reception, spa, service at pool bar- thanks Johan!, buffet, Housekeeping, Jusy tour organizer). The place was always being cleaned. Sometimes our rooms were cleaned twice a day. Yet the facility was older. Cracked tiles in a lot of places and some things looked older. Buffet at lunch/night was hit or miss. We found breakfast and made to order omelettes was awesome. Anything on the bbq was good and fre... Read more

We arrived very late but we're still able to make the buffet for dinner time great selection awesome food. We had a king size room with a beautiful balcony and a nice bathroom however the rooms are a little out of date but they still provided a mini fridge with water and soda and even a cute little fruit plate. Our second day there we enjoyed the pool which is very hot the adult pool is a Jacuzzi with cold water instead of hot which is quite refreshing due to the very hot sun. The snack bar was ... My husband & I have stayed here several times. We can not say enough good things about the entire staff and management. They go over and above to make your stay the very best. The food and choices are excellent. There is something for everyone. They truly cater to there guest, making sure there is a variety of choices at every meal. We will be looking forward to our next stay.

The room needed some TLC, but aside from that the location was great. Las Baulas Marine National Park is by far my favorite Costa Rican beach, I suppose that is why many locals frequent this hotel. Air conditioner kept going out due to power outages throughout the night which became annoying because each time it stopped you had to get up and turn it back on. Food was nothing to write home about, basically cafeteria style. Busy Tamarindo is a short cab ride or long walk away. Areas of this p... Read more

We had a nice time here. Small resort for an all inclusive with limited dining options. The beach is dangerous for swimming due to large waves, rocks and undertows. But if you are careful you can still manage a swim.. Lots of excursions can be taken from this hotel. We went to Nicarauga which was great.

We have a great time! Everyone that works here is super nice and very attentive. It wasn't hard to get a drink by the pool or at the bar. It is about 5 mins from all the nightlife and a 5$ cab ride. The food was good and there was a variety of things everyday. I especially enjoyed when they had the bbq!! There was nightly entertainment which was fun to check out before we headed out. there was also a club int he hotel but it was filled with a bunch of young people so we didn't mind heading into ... It was inexpensive and the beer was cold. Those are the things I can say good. It is more for native Costa Ricans to visit on weekends than families staying a week. We are less than 3 meals since food was cheap and not tasty. Bar selection is beer, shots of local liquor, or premade (yuk) fruit drinks. Beach was good for seashells, another positive. Staff was not friendly and did not seem to like that we preferred to talk in English which is uncommon in Costa Rica. Rooms were small, old, and uncl... Read more

I have had my fair share of traveling and have stayed on all types of resorts from 5 stars to not so great ones and I have to say this was one of the worst not only for lack of customer service but for also lack of everything else. I traveled from the US and stayed at Barcelo Langosta for 4 nights. From the moment we arrived there was no welcome drink, no welcome cold towel, no water nothing. The Hotel Barcelo Langosta Beach is a typical beach hotel. It was nice, the rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were freshly renovated. The air conditioner worked well. There were a few problems with towel service- but the front desk took care of it when asked. The food was good. All right, I stayed in 2 Barcelo properties before: Spain, and Mexico, and liked it. This one was close to disaster, so Adios Barcelo! No business from me....or my family. This happened to be one of the rare all-inclusive hotels, where you want to spend as much time as possible away the resort, so we did. Stayed in June for a week with my family. First issue at arrival was the parking lot, very limited spaces available so we had to park in front of the street. Hotel needs to be remodeled, has been the same hotel since 15 years ago when I first visited. Rooms are clean but look old. Very few options in the buffet, same food everyday. Poor night show, dancers are not even energetic. Will never waste my money on this hotel again.

After staying for 5 nights in arenal volcano we were extremely disappointed in this hotel. All-inclusive buffet was good but that's about it. They only have one pool which can get crowded during the day. The beach is a surfing beach so you can't really swim. But the biggest factor for us is that people who works there don't speak English at all. Mostly locals stay there so they have no need to hire someone who can speak anything other than Spanish. We will not go back to this hotel.

We had a lovely time at Barcelo for the second half of our honeymoon. Our room was nice and most of the staff was friendly and attentive, although most do not know English. There are several bars and a small snack bar open long hours, but really the only meal option is the buffet. Though the buffet was pretty good, I would have really liked some more options.
