We stayed here for a mini-honeymoon. We were greeted warmly with a complimentary drink, and good information about the hotel. Our room was very beautiful, and the details are exquisite. Every room has a volcano view--- this is rare for a hotel in this area! We saw the volcano perfectly clear every day. The hot springs are great, and there's a pool with a swim-up bar, too. Food was pretty good, but nothing exceptional. Breakfast wasn't included, which I found pretty outrageous considering the pr... Read more

The Springs is now one of my all-time favorite hotels! Everything about this resort is fabulous. My only regret is staying for just one night. The staff is INCREDIBLE - they quickly learn the names of guests and treat everyone like royalty. The rooms are spotless and absolutely gorgeous! My friend and I spent our first 30 minutes just taking pictures as we were in awe of the room. Our balcony view of the volcano and the lush property was amazing. Went for a visit to the hot springs. A bit expensive but the $60 day pass ticket gets you two days. Drinks are a bit expensive as well but if you get there early enough you'll likely see an amazing view of the volcano. We hung out in two of the warmer hot springs and the main pool (which has a bar that opens at 10am). Great way to spend a day lounging and relaxing!

The resort and area surrounding are absolutely breathtaking because you're just miles away from the Arenal volcano. My friends and I booked the suite with three bedrooms (one being disconnected from the suite) so it was plenty of room for everyone. The resort is beautiful with 20ish available hot springs varying in temperature. We stayed during hurricane season so the resort was rather quiet, which we loved. The resort also has a close-by conservation center housing exotic plants and endange... Read more

The Springs was absolutely perfect for our big group - my wife, me, or 3 kids (8, 8, 10) and my mom and her companion. One of the reasons we chose it was its large accommodations. We were in a 2-story suite with two completely separate living spaces, bathrooms and big balconies. It seemed a bit pricey when we booked, but when we got to the suite, it seemed like a bargain. Everything was well-appointed and luxurious. The resort is big, but not overwhelming. We still very much felt like we w... Read more

We went to The Springs at the recommendation of the hostess at the house that we rented on Arenal. The facility is top notch. Luxury through and through. There are thermal spring pools that range from luke warm, to relatively steamy along with differing levels of mineral content, which can be determined by the clarity of the water, or at least that's what the information on the signs said when we read them. The hotel was well situated with stunning views. The hot springs were relaxing, and the staff were very attentive. Club Rio had some great tours on the grounds. The horse riding was fun, with responsive horses who cantered if asked. We nearly stepped on a fer de lance but luckily it slithered off! We didn't actually stay at the resort instead we took advantage of their great 2 day hot springs pass for only $60! The pass allows you access to ALL of their hot spring pools. We took full advantage of this and for 2 days ended our adventure days at in their hot spring pools. Everyone we met was super friendly. This is a great deal!!!

We had awesome stay at this resort. People were very nice and helpful. Hot springs at the resort was just out of the world. There are lot of tours that can arranged from the resort itself for all age Groups. We had kids with us and they thoroughly enjoyed there. Lot of activities inside the resort itself. Highly recommend

We loved our stay at the springs...gorgeous property and we truly felt relaxed. Hot Springs were awesome. And the views! The spa was phenomenal. Probably best I've ever been to. We stayed for 6 days 2 adults 2 children. Our room accommodations were perfect, clean and very comfortable. Slept like a babyWhat I hope would be improved was the food. It felt like all inclusive hotel food at a high price. We were not impressed. Usually 5 star hotels have 5 star food, the waitstaff was not all that grea... Read more

My husband, 18 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son stayed here and we cannot say enough about this place! The service is warm and welcoming. Basically you are on a mountain with incredible views of the Arenal Volcano. You are in the rainforest with natural hot springs scattered throughout the property. There is so much to do, including white water rafting, zip lining tubing, fishing, just tons of activities on the property or one of the many adventure companies in the immediate area. The resort is... Read more

I live in Costa Rica and have visited many hotels here. This is one of the best as far as views and the natural Springs pools.....but Please be advised: certain months we get a lot of rain and the river runs very fast....my fiance hit a rock and tipped out of the tube got banged up quite a bit today....luckily no broken bones. It took the guides over 10 minutes to grab her.... So please be advised of the Danger of any River activities....... there is a reason you sign a waiver before you ... Read more

1. The place it self- no question about it- it is a beautiful hotel, the room, the view, facilities- all are great. 2. Prices are over priced- no way a cup of cappuccino coffee here should cost 4-5$, even in New York City coffee is cheaper. Every thing here is priced with US dollars. 3. Far away- take into consideration that if you wish to travel in and out- it takes time- A long time. So be ready for it. 4. If you just here for the view and spend some time in a quite place- facing the volcan... Read more

I just wanted to take a moment to review our amazing stay at this five star resort. We stayed for 5 nights in August at this luxe resort at the foothills of Arenal. Beautiful views throughout the resort. The architectural layout is extremely well thought out. We were traveling with a group of 27 and had 7 rooms/suites. Our room was a junior suite, King plus 3 twin configured room. Very spacious, every detail has been covered in room design. Awesome full amenity bathrooms, shower & soak tu... Read more

Beautiful room and property. It is located maybe 4 miles off the main road. .The first night going to eat I did not see the massive number of ants crossing the sidewalk and got bitten on both feet. That was a very painful evening. I also had a feeling of being confined because of the distance to the main road and it was not a road to drive at night.

We stayed at the Springs for 5 days with our 14 and 11 year old daughters and had an amazing time. There are so many positive things to say about this resort. From the moment you are greeted to the time you check out, the staff is super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at this resort again. Positives: 1) The Rooms. We stayed in the new portion of the hotel on the 4th floor and it was spacious and simply gorgeous. The view of the volcano was stunning. 2) The Food. While the r... Read more

I am a world traveler with my family and I have stayed at some of the nicest resorts, including many in Costa Rica. Tabacon was wonderful but "The Springs" is at another level of true luxury and opulence. I see many reviews about the high prices here, but they are no higher than any 5 star resort around the world. Bottom line... if you are going to complain in a review about the pricing then this resort is no for you. However, this resort caters to a specific clientele where service and l... Read more

Phenomenal place Views like nothing else Hotel is gorgeous with views of the Arenal Volcano that are unmatched. Rooms are amazing. Rope quality and high end. Amazing pool system scattered throughout the property. The on property Camp Rio staffed by the friendliest and competent workers. Every single staff member is clearly trained in the art of customer service but also have that non trainable quality of genuine kindness and concern for the customer. They set the standard. My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children ages 14, 13, and 9) stayed here for 2 nights. The kids all loved it. The adults enjoyed it too, but with a different perspective. This is clearly a hotel that caters to Americans seeking a luxury Costa Rican vacation. If that sounds like a good thing to you, then you will most likely think that this is a spectacular place to stay. We had a "family suite" which was a huge and luxurious space with everything a family could want or need. The suite had two ... Read more

We stayed in the newly opened guest rooms - some of the nicest rooms we have stayed in anywhere in world. Long drive to get there, but well worth it. Service was great and all the staff very nice. Good was good and hot springs very relaxing. Club rio offers various activities - tube Rapids ride, horseback riding, ATV's. Kids had a blast.

The pictures on the website don't do it justice. I read the reviews and decided to try this for a quick two day getaway while we waited for the rest of our all lady party to arrive to Costa Rica and head out to Jaco Beach located on the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica. Wish we could just stay and get the rest of the gang up here as well. Stayed in a 900+ Sq Ft Room that has a huge terrace with its own outdoor jacuzzi to enjoy the spectacular view of the Volcano. Each hot spring nicer than the... Read more
