This place was nice on arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. It's a hike up to your rooms, which is not bad. Our rooms smelled musty, and they were pretty clean besides the outside tube( it is out side). The view was wonderful! They could be staffed better but the pool and food were fantastic.

I usually do not write reviews but hotel staff at mountain paradise was so horrible that it was hard to not write a review. I stayed at that hotel for 3 days during Christmas break . I booked a taxi one day to go out at around 12:00 p.m . I was told that its not an issue. 11:50 a.m , My family and I were getting to leave and I get a call that the taxi will be 45 mins late. Things happen ,so we were very understand and without any complaints we said ok. I have two kids and they didn't like sittin... Read more

We had a wonderful week's holiday in Costa Rica. However our first night, 14 Feb 2016, was at the Mountain Paradise Hotel which turned out to be a nightmare for us. In the middle of the night, around 2am, the air conditioner unit on the wall started rattling, making a lot of noise and dripping lots of water. We could not sleep because of the loud noise. We phoned to reception but there was no answer. My husband walked to reception to find someone, in complete darkness as they do not switch on an... Read more

This is a small hotel with nice large rooms with a jacuzzi just outside the doorstep. If you are looking for action, this is not the place for you. Everything closes down around 10pm and the guests are going to their rooms. The pool is heated but very very tiny. More to sit and relax in than to swim and play. You do not come here for the food either, which tastes very much the same. ..You come here for the tours and adventures.

The staff were extremely polite and accommodating. The casitas were close to each other and to the reception area, but they still provided golf cart service to and from, great service when it is raining! The complimentary Costa Rican breakfast was delicious, with the extra bonus of the view of the Arenal volcano as you ate. The wait staff never let your coffee get too low before refilling it! The rooms were huge with one king and one queen bed in each, had we known this we would have gotten one ... Read more

This was was the worst hotel we stayed in during our otherwise wonderful trip to Costa Rica. My husband and I spent 4 nights here Dec. 24-27. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were very nice and accomodating but that's where all things nice ended. The room was absolutely terrible. It smelled moldy and mildewy and there was no dehumidifier in the room. The glass sliders looked out onto mud that became muddy pools just off the patio when it rained (every day we were there). The outdoor ja... Read more

My family and I took a trip to Costa Rica and decided to stay at this location since it was near the Volcanoes, and near where we went zip lining. The scenery was very nice from the Hotel's Restaurant and there were several different types of animals that were around the property. The Restaurant food was average, but there were other near by restaurant that you could choose from. The room was a bit uncomfortable for a family of four and the showers were different, but felt good once you stood ... Read more

I thought that the pictures showing a Fred Flinstone inspired resort just weren't flattering. I was wrong. This place looks like it was designed by a 10 year old, and feels like it's run by one as well. Or, if not 10, then someone who thinks they know what a resort is, but has clearly never experienced it. Everything in this place feels fake. From the overpriced (and watered down) drinks at the filthy poolbar, to the horrible food in the daily restaurant. I am from San Francisco, which is ... Read more

Came here for a two day trip after visiting the beaches of Tamarindo. The drive took longer than expected and got in after dark. Super easy to locate and the staff were great once we arrived. They made sure we had all our adventures booked for the next day. I'm sure they trips were a bit more expensive then booking off property but they took care of everything. All I had to do was show up ready for an adventure. Great no hassle check-in. The grounds were amazing. Really made you feel like you w... Read more

Our group is booked at this hotel for two nights. Several things occurred that did not make this a pleasant experience. First of all it is so outdated It's almost comical. The bathroom was huge, but SO strange with man made boulders painted green, live plants growing out of rocks in the shower area. I wish I could post pictures of the bathroom/bedroom-so weird. On the second day there was a HUGE (2") spider in the bathroom. I was so scared, but was able to use bug repellent that I had to finally... Read more
