WE were pleasantly surprised when we arrived through a gated drive and received a welcome fruit drink as we arrived. THe hotel was beautiful and you could see Arenal volcano easily from our room. The pool was very warm and relaxing with a swim up bar.

We stayed at the Hotel Mountain Paradise for 3 nights while in La Fortuna. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large and nice. The shower in the bathroom is a waterfall shower and it is awesome! Breakfast is included and every morning there is a great selection to choose from. While the hotel is nice there were a few problems with our stay. First, the week we visited they were renovating the pool. This would not have been that much of a problem but they did not tell us until a few... Read more

Hotel seemed a little corny when we saw the rooms. After we got settled we realized how much we really liked the place. The staff was great, the location was great and it was very beautiful. The bed was fantastic and so was the private little hot tub on the balcony. Very clean. Has hot water.

Returning to Costa Rica wouldn't be right if I didn't come stay at this hidden gem! Beautiful views, AMAZING staff, very helpful! The tour amenities can't be beat and who doesn't like a heated pool! I recommend to all who travel here. You won't regret it! In fact, you'll feel like family!

I really liked this hotel. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. The bathroom was gigantic-- with 2 showers, and the toilet in its own separate space with a door. There was a small outdoor patio with a hot tub, and you could see the Arenal volcano in the background. The restaurant was good but expensive. The grounds were very pretty with good views of the volcano, but also hilly. It was a bit of a hike to our room but there were attendants with golfcarts that could take you uphill to you... Read more

The hotel is great, great view of the volcano specially from the restaurant Koita, Ave del paraiso has a nice view too. The room was big, huge bathroom, i loved the shower waterfall. I had my own private Jacuzzi. The room was always clean. They have free breakfast, the food was good. The staff was great, very friendly that guy Andres was very helpful even though, i cancelled all my services i had booked thru them. Their tours and services are a little pricey, but it's a great hotel, great... Read more

The hotel is great!! The view of the volcano is very nice! I really like the environment. You feel very close to the nature. Also, I loved the bathroom, the fake water fall shower was very nice!! The only thing that I missed in this place was a better breakfast, they do not have a rude variety if you don't eat rice and beans. Overall it was a very nice experience!

My friend and I stayed here the last time we were in the La Fortuna area. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the fact that it is a little bit removed from the busy streets and city is very refreshing. The staff was amazing and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The views of the Arenal Volcano are amazing. The rooms are spacious with waterfall showers and private, outdoor hot tubs! The food was awesome and felt very authentic. We had a great time using t... Read more

We had our expectations exceeded while staying at Hotel Mountain Paradise. The staff is all about the experience and making it the best it can be. They were incredibly helpful with anything we needed. The rooms were very large, with awesome jungle showers. The views from the rooms were gorgeous as well... I've never experienced anything like it. The swim up bar is of course a plus too!! No wi-fi available in the rooms, but wi-fi available in all the common areas.

We stayed here in May in a Junior Suite: on arrival we received a welcome drink which set the tone then leapt on a golf buggy to our room the room truly was drop dead gorgeous - outdoor jacuzzi for 2 with stunning view of volcano; huge room with massive sized bed and the bathroom - the waterfall shower was just superb fun . We quickly hit the gin and tonics in the jacuzzi and enjoyed the stunning view with hummingbirds flitting through the garden (also lots of kiskadees, thrush and many more) ... Read more

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Hotel Mountain Paradise. The staff and grounds are both amazing. Truly a small slice of paradise. Rooms are basic with quirky waterfall showers - my son LOVED. We were able to see lots of wildlife right from our balcony, and after seeing other hotels at excursion drop offs, were really glad we booked this hotel since it's up away from the busy road. We were really impressed with this hotel. We found it excellent value for money. The rooms were extremely spacious and the bathrooms were quirky (they had a shower and waterfall type shower - it was all very natural looking). I had absolutely no complaints with the standard of the room. There was a really good choice at breakfast.

This hotel became our jungle home. The grounds and the view of the volcano are unbelievably beautiful. All the food is delicious, as are the drinks. The near by town of La Fortuna is a great day trip for shopping and restaurants. Above all else the staff was amazing. Service at both restuarants is impeccable. Micheal went above and beyond to make our last dinner special. Mountain Paradise is a great deal, and we wouldn't have changed a thing. We are looking forward to our next visit to o... Read more

We stayed in rooms 303 and 304. Great views of the volcano from the patios. Rooms were large and bathrooms were huge with a waterfall shower and a seperate spa shower. Waterfall shower was incredible. Spa shower was not so great; most of the shower heads were corroded and the whole shower unit was a bit crooked. Outdoor tub on the patio was an added plus but jets did not work. There was also not much privacy. Grounds were lush, with lots of flowers, birds, and insects. Kids loved exploring. Larg... Read more

We enjoyed fours nights in the hotel at one of the premium suites. The hotel grounds are truly wonderful. The private jacuzzi alongside the heated pool was the highlight of our stay. The breakfast was very tasty and offered enough selection for all tastebuds. The staff were all kind and went above and beyond to meet all your needs!... Read more

The suite was private, clean and quiet. One master suite, and a bedroom with a full bath off of the kitchenette, with a private plunge pool. The property was well maintained, the pool had a swim-up bar that was fun but not too noisy. The restaurant on-site served excellent meals, especially breakfast buffet with local cuisine and American staples like pancakes and eggs.

I chose this place because of the reviews others left so I am going to do the same since I know it makes a difference. I went with my husband and 17 year old son. From the very second we arrived onto the property, we were greeted with delicious fruit juice in champagne flutes, a smiling receptionist who came outside with cool refreshing towel wipes. (It took us about 3 hours from the airport). We sat in comfortable chairs rather than standing at a counter and that made us feel welcomed and relax... Read more

We stayed at Hotel Mountain Paradise for the first half of our Costa Rica vacation. As others that have reviewed this hotel, I found the room to be a little "corny". The waterfall shower was not at all authentic and was plastic. There was NO storage at all for clothes -- not one chest of drawers and the closet was not large enough to hang a dress. So, we found ourselves living out of our suitcases -- which was quite frustrating. Also, the lighting here was extremely dim, which is probably purpos... Read more

Title says it all. Had to move rooms in the middle of the night due to a swarm of army ants. Staff is great, infrastructure is dated. Having never been to CR before, not sure if this is the "standard" in hotel accommodations. Would not stay here again, cannot recommend this hotel except for the staff and the food which was very good. Try somewhere else, at least until they clean this place up.

Recently stayed at Mountain Paradise with my wife and two teenage children. The grounds were beautiful and clean but the rooms felt a little out-dated and in a little bit of disrepair. To be fair, the staff was very responsive in coming to fix anything I complained about (broken bathroom mirror and toilet seat), but there were other things that were broken that I didn't bother to complain about because they were just nuisances. Mountain Paradise is a lovely hotel. It really is. It has excellent views of the volcano, the rooms are great, the showers and tubs are novel, the breakfast tasty.
