"From the moment we walked on the resort grounds we felt the magic of the mountains and it was truly paradise!!! "it was magical staying at Mountain Paradise Hotel, if i go back to Costa Rica, i will book into there.
1. i liked the friendliness and efficiency of staff, i had never been treated better;
2. private bungalows are beautiful, very clean and quiet; nothing disturbs your sleep; high ceilings give space to air to freely circulate; if you want AC - it is right there, and they are quiet, too! lovely bathrooms with grotto-imitations!
3. lovely breakfast, delicious, fresh-made! you must try their little muffing! those are from heaven!
4. beautiful little pool with the bar is so relaxing after a day spent in-trip, and prices are very fair;
5. lots of wild-life right there! we saw armadillo and basilisk! and hummingbirds! tens and tens of species of birds every second! this really is Paradise!
6. and - which is Very important in Costa Rica - this Hotel is very easy to find, driving. and La Fortuna town is just couple of minutes away, driving. they have very nice gift-shops, coffee-shops and anything else you might feel a need for during the stay.
7. and of course - views! we did not see the Volcano in its full picture because of massive clouds (rain season is approaching!), but any view is a find for photographer or bare eye!

"Wonderful place. The only problems we found: the 'jacuzzi' in every rooms a bath tub with water jets on the back porch; the waterfall shower has a serious design flaw so that you can't be under the water without hugging the wall behind you (but it does look really neat). The resort itself, has 4 'hot pools' but three are connected and thus the same temperature (a comfortable warm with a swim up bar) and one cold pool. The staff was wonderful and the food was good. We only had breakfast there though. The landscaping is beautiful, and the pool area is perfect for relaxing. The rooms were clean, comfortable (TV and AC in each room), and we had a small back porch with the bath tub, two rocking chairs and a little private back yard area. Perfect for couples!"

"Absolutely love this hotel...very relaxing, very quiet! Hotel was really clean all around: rooms, grounds, pool, and restaurants. Love the fact that the hotel resembles what Costa Rica really is. The view is absolutely breath taking, even with the rain. We did go on the rainy season, but it was not bad. The rain does clear after a while. The food...amazingly good. The hotel has three places where you could dine at...love the Koita restaurant, their avocado shrimp appetizer is amazing and the waiter was great..Did the majority of the tours through the hotel. Our tour guide was amazing...all tours booked through the hotel provide lunch and the combination tour provides lunch and dinner. It is well worth it! The pool bar is great as well, and the server there is great! Absolutely and definitely planning our next trip again in October and planning to stay there again!"

"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and was very pleased to find that everything was as advertised. From the moment I arrived, I was taken care of by the friendly and accommodating staff. I chose the place because I wanted a more intimate experience than you get at hotels with rooms in one large building. The grounds were immaculate and well kept with beautiful, varied tropical foliage. The rooms were clean and spacious and the porch had a stunning view of the volcano. In fact, the view was planned into all aspects of the hotel. The pool was well located from the reception building and rooms. The swim up bar was great place to meet and chat with other people and even catch a bite to eat. I highly recommend a massage at the spa. Best massage I have ever had and all while birds were chirping in the background. The tours were well planned for maximum ease and enjoyment and the guides were very knowledgable. I had a terrific experience at this hotel with the perfect mix of quiet, private space and personal, friendly service along with easy access to many great activities. If that's what you're looking for you will not be disappointed."

"The staff are top notch. They were always accesible, very knowledgeable of the area and activities and most import super friendly. From the shuttle pickup from the San Jose airport (highly rcommend it), to the personable pool bartender. This place is top notch. The location is good. 10 minutes from downtown LaFortuna and 5-10 minutes from Arenal. The suites were nice and the cleaning service was very good. There are other resorts which are bigger and cost more, but I would recommend this resort for the price and quality."

"Mountain Paradise Hotel was my favorite hotel during my stay in Costa Rica. We stayed in a basic Junior Suite, there was nothing basic about it, we had our own little bungalow in paradise. A huge bathroom with a waterfall shower, high ceilings and a porch with a jacuzzi tub ( if we had stayed in one of the more deluxe suites we would have had a pool). The location was perfect for getting around in our rental car, food was good, and the pool was a beautiful heated retreat. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, would absolutley stay here again. Worth every penny!"
