Excellent staff, clean and airy hotel. Classy layout and beautiful pool area with great view. Near the airport, but still a little difficult to get to unless you know the roads. Can walk the grounds and visit the spa, café with terrific coffee, latte, etc. Not inexpensive, but worth the price.

Tomorrow, I'm so excited because I'm returning to the beloved hotel in Belen (The Marriott) that I've been staying at for the last THREE YEARS...Every year, I have an opportunity to come to Costa Rica...and I strategically book my days at the Marriott at the end of my trip because it is so relaxing and the perfect place to receive a warm, kind, generous Costa Rican good-bye. The rooms are large and very comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and filled with wonderful beauty and hair amenities... Read more

We stayed here for two nights because of our flight being cancelled due to the volcanic ash in the area. Our stay was great, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub area were fantastic and had great ambience. The hot tub was not working the one night, and the staff immediately went to troubleshot the problem, and ultimately fixed it for us! The executive lounge was also great. The food was very good, and the staff working there, were equally awesome. The restaurant Ant... Read more

The hotel was lovely the grounds are meticulously kept, the pool was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable and had a gorgeous view of the grounds, but what completely set our experience apart was that the staff was amazing! We were traveling with our children and everyone was so accommodating and kind! We felt safe, protected, and watched out for. The front desk was extra helpful and friendly. Our experience at the hotel restaurant was also incredible! A special thanks to Carlos Somarriba, t... Read more

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott. Clean spacious rooms, beautiful bathrooms and a breath-taking view. We ate at the buffet and loved the diverse spread. The food was phenomenal, as was our server Wally! He was so professional and definitely added to the wonderful experience.

We stayed at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose on the first and last nights of our trip to Costa Rica. The hotel is easily accessible from the airport. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and check in was quick and efficient. The hotel and grounds are lovely, in the style of a hacienda. We stayed in a concierge level room with access to the executive lounge and feel it was worth the extra cost. The guest room was very large, comfortable and clean. We would certainly stay here again.

My family and I had a problem with the Marriott San Jose Costa Rica Hotel located at La Ribera de Belen both on Sat and Sunday mornings (June 11 and 12). A family next to us had a very very vociferous child which was waking up many people by shouting out loud for minutes without end. The staff did nothing, absolutely nothing to keep the situation under control. I complained to both the family and the hotel staff about this rude behaviour but nothing happened. I realize Costa Ricans tend to ac... Read more

Just checked out.. Stayed for only one night, but I wish it was for longer. I was traveling with my family of 4. I booked an executive level room and couldn't have been happier. We had access to free water, sodas, coffees, and fruit throughout the day. Beginning at 5:30pm they had a spread that could have equaled dinner-rice with chicken, soup, spring rolls, cheese, meats, and desserts. Breakfast was also included-eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, etc. Our room overlooked the driving range... Read more

Gold member. First visit to this hotel. Online check-in prior to arrival made the assignment of our three rooms fast and seamless. Hotel is well located just minutes from the airport, walking distance to several dining and bar options and a 5 minute drive to several large corporate operations. Security roadside questions all vehicles entering for guest safety. Grounds and lobby are beautiful and lush. Hotel is open to the outside in the center so all sides of the public areas afford perfect view... Read more

Spent 2 weeks in this hotel and it was fantastic. Amazing garden and pool area. Cool design. The room was big and I had a view of the pool which was beautiful. The restaurants were good but overpriced. We ate in the concierge lounge for breakfast. It was good but didn't have much variety.

I have stayed at this Marriott twice in two very distinct occasions. What sets this hotel apart from the others is its inept capability to feel like you are at home, at all times. Be it at your room or at one of its many bars and restaurants. It also has one of the best gyms I have seen in a hotel. Impeccable service is also there, when you most need it.

Very nice hotel, family friendly. Restaurant was fairly priced and Delicious. Service was great and efficient, everyone was friendly. Loved the second floor balcony bar and outdoor patio. We were entertained by lightning at night around that time of June. Easy to get too. Loved the Costa Rican coffee daily complimentary. Free Wifi was decent. Rooms were a bit small but luxurious bedding. Comfortable and central stay when getting in Costa Rica before heading anywhere else.

Myself and seven friends stayed here for two nights, while attending a wedding. Each room recieved a complimentary dry cleaning service. Service is not great in the hotel resteraunts, but the food was good. Wide range of choices available for breakfast. There is a smoke free policy in this hotel (on website, it stated that smokers, would be accommodated, this is not the case), you are required to leave the premises to have a cigarette.

I want to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the concierge named Kimberly Garcia, and the manager of the hotel that with her intervention, address my satisfaction. Without her sense of urgency and care, I would not give a five to the hotel. But she gained my preference for this hotel for another seminar.

Well we just returned again from a 3 night stay at our favorite place with our favorite people - but this time we brought our daughter-in-law and our two Grandchildren, from Naples, Florida here for the first part of their Costa Rica vacation trip. They have never been to Costa Rica before so we couldn't wait to have them experience this beautiful hotel and the chance to meet our favorite people who work here which of course include, the two Alexander's who handle our luggage when we arrive a... The Marriott Costa Rica is a lovely open-air hotel made to feel like an hacienda. The rooms are very comfortable and noise was never an issue. The grounds are well maintained and there are plenty of recreational choices - pool, gym, tennis, and golf. There is also a nice array of restaurants as well - Peruvian, Sushi, Continental/traditional. The service was extremely attentive and professional. This was our first stop in Costa Rica when we arrived and our last before leaving; on both occas... Read more

I stayed there for three nights recently on a business trip. I found the hotel good, not great and below the standard of an international Marriott. I am in the Marriott elite program so I got an upgrade and access to the concierge lounge. I found the rooms tired and if my room was an upgrade I can only imagine what a regular room looked like. When I checked in it was later at night and I was leaving two days later in the morning, yet the desk agent insisted on a full 3 days incidental char... Read more

I had a wonderful time during my eight-day stay in San José for several reasons: 1- the hotel quality and the staff kindness certainly are the most important contributing factors ; a nice, quiet, room with a great view on the golf and the mountains and hotel employees who would do anything to help you, regardless of the time it takes them. I might not have enough lines to mention all the hotel people who helped and advised us but the most amazing person who is to be congratulated is Kimberly fr... Read more

We stopped here for our last night in Costa Rica and we couldn't ask for a better place to end a fantastic trip. I got a room under my Marriott points (if you are not a member yet, what are you waiting for? Best hotel loyalty program in my opinion). We were treated with first class service from the concierge email a week before our stay, to the check in experience, room service, restaurant dinner etc. We were upgraded to a Master Suite..what an amazing hotel!! Stayed here for business but I felt as though I were on vacation. The property is a converted coffee plantation and the grounds are lush. Beautiful surroundings, well manicured lawns. The old-world charm hotel is beautiful, the rooms spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nice bar for late night drinks, they make the BEST Caipiriñas. Room service was pricey but the quality and taste of the food was worth it.

I was recently at this hotel for three nights for business. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. Service was great, and food is very good as well. I felt quite comfortable here, and being a solo female traveler, that was very important to me - as this was my first trip to Central America.

Nice property with a very good view and lush green golf course. The breakfast was also good. The shop inside the hotel is expensive. Some restaurants near the hotel as well. You would not get any public transport outside the hotel. Better to stay on one of the rooms near the pool

we stayed here for 5 days and did tours from this location. The grounds/gardens are extensive and excellent for jogging, walking and just taking a break from hustle by the pool and few restaurants and bars within the hotel.
