This was the first stop on our Costa Rica adventure. This lodge has a lovely natural setting by the river and is quite secluded. It never felt busy and it has a nice area to relax with rocking chairs overlooking a pond and the pool. The staff were lovely and the food was typical Costa Rican, which was to our taste. There is a private bathing area on the river in addition to the the pool (the local people love swimming in their rivers so we gave it a go!). In addition, you can walk (or take a gui... Read more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as the first main stop on our honeymoon in Costa Rica. The hotel itself is fantastic and the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. You never had to wait long to be served or assisted in any way. We loved our room. It was rustic and basic with no real amenities such as a television or coffee machine but this was fine with us. In fact this added to the feel of the property and helped us relax completely. The rooms were comfortable and we had all we needed.... Read more

Don't let the two suspension bridges put you off getting into the Hotel Hacienda it's worth it. We were spoilt as we had almost 24 hours being the only two people at this hotel. It felt like our own bit of paradise Yes the place looks a bit tired in places but that's down to the weather and the impact it has on the wood etc The staff spend all day keeping the place clean. The food was good and not as expensive as we thought it might be. The staff are all so friendly and happy. The lady... Read more

We stayed two nights in room 16. Very nice large, sound proof room with a private porch over looking a pond with a bird tree, covered with lots of roosting heron and other birds in the evening. We were lucky enough to also have a colony of eight bats hanging out on the wall next to our porch. The room had a large bathroom with a shower, the hot water was hard to control, it would go from scaulding hot to cold. There was a hair dryer in the room but no TV, clock or refrigerator. The air cond... Read more

This hotel is a very nice resort that is well-cared for and is a hidden jewel that we could only book through Bookit. It is in an out of the way area but very centrally located if you want to do wildlife viewing in the rich jungles of the Sarapiqui region on the lower slope and lowlands on the Caribbean side. We spent an entire week visiting local wildlife reserves, waterfalls and national parks all within easy driving distance from the resort. The bilingual staff are very friendly and helpful a... What a place. Certainly off the beaten path. Upon our tour arrival we had to disembark the bus and walk across a hanging bridge over a gorgeous river to get to the grounds. turns out we found a bridge you could drive over when we took a walk around the grounds. There's a pond, in-ground pool, hot tub ... the grounds were really nice to walk around. Everything was so green and lush. Great bar area, meal was tasty and all kinds of activities to do: rafting, tubing, zip lining and never ending bird... Read more

Ok, so being from Texas we want ice, ice cold rooms and King size beds. All these can be gotten here IF YOU UPGRADE. We were inn a grip of 40+ and got the regular suites. Now wait a mixture, we liked them after we got use to them (one night) and even feel inn love with them. I had to take a very cold shower (oh they have tons of hot water but your in the jungle) before bed and slept away from my wife. If you want ice in ANY DRINK you have to go to the bar. Arrived not knowing what to expect, over what the locals call the 'oh my god' bridge, to find a real jewel. Staff were great, most had good enough English to accommodate us with pigeon Spanish. We did the zip wires and forest walk with Carlos and team who were inexhaustibly knowledgeable and fun. Saw spider monkey, toucan, blue jeans frog, lots of lizards big and small, lots of,squabbling.birds, bullet ants and more. The biggest lizard was seen from reception ! - sorry Carlos. Food was probab... Read more

We (2 adults & 2 kids) stayed here on our first & second nights in Costa Rica. Entrance is across two narrow bridges which made for a fun first impression. Wonderfully friendly staff and beautiful grounds reinforced this. Food was great and pool was nice though the hot-tub was somewhat dirty. AC fan was quite noisy but manager said he'd look into it.

We had a couple getaway to this place, location is great, only 1.5 hours away from the city, reachable in any kind of vehicle, last couple of mails includes a bridge crossing over the remember that is part of the experience. Hotel is welcoming from the first impression, and really simple to get familiarized. I got the junior suite, with an undisputed view to the forest, certainly one of the best rooms I've been in my life, hotel attention is great and yet simple, you get a family treatment, for ...
