We were here with our two kids in April of 2016. We had an amazing stay, the grounds were beautiful, and our room patio had a straight view of the volcano which was amazing. The breakfast was really good, with tons of choices and very tasty. We had dinner in La Fortuna every night, and did take a taxi in, and although it did cost about 10-12 dollars each way, it was well worth it. The people were very nice, and staff was super courteous. The in house hot springs were so nice, especially af... Read more

There were some things to really like about this resort. Every room/bungalow faced the volcano with an unobstructed view that was to die for. The pool areas were fantastic, with many separate and partially private seating areas. No big line of chaises where you have to walk past everyone else to get in the pools. There were several warm/hot volcano spring water pools and a decent size unheated pool to plunge into for cool-off. Covered swim up bars for the daily rains. The grounds were immac... Read more

We were sold this hotel by Kuoni as a 'a hotel we would not be disappointed with - this after stressing we wanted a luxury hotels all the way on the trip. To save money - and they said we were saving a considerable amount - we shared a 'junior suite' with our daughter Well it was a cabin with two queen sized beds in it and not much room for anything else - hubby had to shimmy down the side of the bed to get in! This was NOT a junior suite by any standard. And it was full of American students wh... Read more

stayed 2 nights in an amazing cabin type accommodation. The rooms area spacious the bathrooms clean and great water pressure. The hosts are gracious friendly and always available. The walk up and down the path is casual and gives you the opportunity to say hi to the other guests. The pools and hot water springs are inviting and clean. The food is like any other restaurant nothing very special but definitely tasty and with enough of a selection not to get tired. the breakfast is a nice spread wit... Read more

We spent 2 nights here as part of Thomson Holidays Grand Tour of Costa Rica. The junior suits were very comfortable, with free mini bar, free room safe. There was free transport around the grounds. A brilliant view of the Arenal Volcano (when there were no clouds). We ate here 1 night and although we found the food delicious we also thought it and the wine expensive. We did not make full use of the facilities as we were out on tours so cannot comment on them.

Really confortable villas, place is really relaxing, it took all my stress out, food is really good, very clean place and perfect views to the Arenal Volcano... The staff at the reception make me feel welcome.

Spent three nights here during our honeymoon. The rooms were clean and comfortable - stayed in a junior suite. The thermal spa pools were very relaxing, especially after long days full of adventure. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The daily breakfast buffet (included) was plentiful and tasty! Our only complaint would be the onsite restaurants; the food was mediocre and a bit pricey. We would recommend making a trip into La Fortuna for more wallet-friendly local flavor.

I was very pleased with this choice. This hotel was a great price but was still very nice and the staff were amazing. They helped us book all of our tours at a discounted rate on the spot and the tour guides picked you up in the hotel lobby so it was super easy. They had a cold pool as well as a hot springs which were nice for when it was raining. Overall it was a great deal! The only down side to the trip was that it rained everyday, which was to be expected.

Amazing place to start our Costa Rica experience. Staff were very helpful and went the extra mile. Trip along the river was incredible with very knowledgable guides who had the ability to spot wildlife at a distance. The evening visit to the hot springs was very welcome and an enjoyable way to spend an evening. Highly recommend this place the next has a lot to live up to

The Arenal area has changed a lot in the 15 years since we first came here. The prices are a big part of that. Arenal Springs is expensive but it does include access to the hot springs pools on the grounds and those fees can really add up if you're traveling to another springs in the area. The little duplex buildings are comfortable and the restaurants are god (particularly the Italian one).

At check in we were greeted with a yummy tropical drink. The staff was wonderful and helpful. We had a bungalow on the first row near the yoga studio and spa. Perfect location and outstanding view of the volcano. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the unique bathroom. In the shower area was a ledge with plants. At night it rained and watered the plants. Very relaxing sound. The grounds and pool area were beautiful. We enjoyed the natural hot springs and hot tub area. Breakfast ... Read more

This hotel is wonderful. The staff is excellent. The rooms are beautiful. The pools and lobby are great. My only problem is the food at the hotel. There is a free breakfast which was mediocre at best. As far as lunch and dinner you will pay for your own food. The prices are ridiculously high and the quality is not very good. My advice to anyone staying here is to make sure you have a vehicle at your disposal so that you can go into town and have authentic Costa Rican cuisine at low prices. Al... Read more

The included free breakfast was quite good and overall the food was good (but a bit expensive). The location is great as it allows for a quick ($12) cab ride into La Fortuna. I don't even know where to start with this resort, it was so fantastic! When you first arrive, you're greeted in the beautiful lobby with a cold, sweet tropical drink and a warm hello. The resort is at the base of the volcano, but up on a hill so you have full views all of the time of Volcan Arenal which is incredible. This is a very good hotel to consider in an area full of options. Starting with the rooms, they are not so big but they have enough space and also the car is parked really near it, the bathroom is nice and all of them have a clear view of the volcano. Driving into town we were unsure of what to expect. We got in late at night and couldn't see any of the surroundings. When we woke up the next morning we were stunned. The views are breathtaking. The grounds are well maintained. We chose this place because of the hot springs on property and we have taken full advantage of them. Overall, we loved this hotel! The rooms are each half of a "duplex", and there are around 50 of these little buildings lined along streets on the property (it felt like a mini suburb). The bathroom showers are open to the elements which was very cool when it rained. Water pressure wasn't so good.
