Excellent service. Front desk people were most helpful in helping us find a tour for the next day. Breakfast was included and had a wide variety of food and most tasty. I would be most happy to just hang out at the hotel and pool the next time. Very relaxing! Enjoyed the view of the Volcano and loved seeing the cows on the hills. Nice patio.

This place can be described best by one two words...VERY TIRED. Rooms were outdated, dark and lacked even simple niceties like a wash cloth or a real closet. We were there with another couple and we all had problems with door locks that did not work (who wants to stay in a room when you feel unsafe at night because you can't get the door to lock. Staff seemed VERY TIRED. Restaurant food was average, service was poor. No one seemed to care less about the service. Happy hour was terrible....... Read more

I am just going to start out with the big problems and not the smaller ones. One of the guys working the desk was flirting with my fiance when I was not with her, trying to get her to come to his house party, "oh your so beautiful, you have a fiance, I guess he wouldnt want you at my house party then huh" "oh if you didnt have a fiance I would be all over you". That sort of crap. She said he appeared to be drunk or something. He knew we were together long before that anyways, hes just a creep... Read more

I chose this property because of many reasons. 1. Reviews were good 2. Has a balcony facing the volcano. 3. coffee maker 4. A/c. All were on point. The balcony space was very nice, two chairs and small end table, so my mornings looking a the birds, and volcano clear up were amazing. Its daylight at 5:30 am so, I was up early. I had a third person unexpectedly and they charged 25.00 per day for her. I booked this with orbitz and they had my reservation for one night less than booked, but th... Read more

Location is very good and the hotel was nice and clean . The staff (Gustavo) was so helpful and informative . If you want to do activity shop around the ticket at the hotel is more expensive . The front desk was close at night after 10:00pm .

Nicely placed hotel near the entrance to the national park. Lovely big rooms mattress on hard side , beautiful pool area with different tropical birds around. Restaurant was "ok" nothing to rave about usual Costa Rica fare.

We had a great view of the volcano from our balcony, and it overlooked the pool as well. The service was excellent, especially the front desk in helping set up our excursion to the volcano and hot springs. We also can't say enough great things about Luis, the bar and restaurant manager. He is clearly passionate about his position there and shows enthusiasm for wine, especially pinot noir. He went above and beyond to make us feel like valued guests. Additionally, the poolside bar was heated (es... Read more

Awesome view of the volcano from my room and the pool which was awesome! The pool had a wet bar and happy hour 2 for 1 drinks. Jacuzzi was awesome and the pool is the perfect temperature. Front desk service was super nice and helpful with the tours. The free breakfast was AMAZING. Buffet style and very good mix of American and Costa Rican food! Rooms were nice, only complaint was that the wifi is a little slow sometimes but other than that I episode definitely recommend

My friend and I spent 3 nights at this hotel on our recent trip to La Fortuna. We have been to this area before and previously stayed at Hotel Mountain Paradise. The hotel itself is nice with great views of the volcano and helpful staff. The rooms are a little on the small side, but they were very clean and we had a nice balcony overlooking the pool area and the Volcan Arenal. This hotel is a lot closer to La Fortuna than the last place we stayed - which may bother some people if they are l... Read more

The hotel view of the Volcano is beautiful and you are over looking the pool it's is a nice view every morning on the balcony. The pool bar attendant Gustavo is very nice and helpful. Downtown is a 10 min drive down the street. This hotel is near the hot springs, ecolodges zip lining and walking distance to ATV rentals. The rooms are nice they have refrigerators, bathtubs, coffee maker and blow dryers. The pillows are hard and the beds a decent. Overall I would stay her again.

This hotel has beautiful grounds with a lovely pool, hot tubs and amazing views. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds are comfortable. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is because of the construction noise next door, which obviously they have no control over but I would call ahead and ask if it is finished as it woke us up every morning and ruined the otherwise peaceful ambiance of the place. The food at the restaurant is just okay, nothing special but gets the job done. There is ... Read more

We have just come back from a trip to Costa Rica and absolutely loved our stay at Magic Mountain. We had a lovely bedroom with a huge bed and ensuite and views looking straight out to the volcano. The staff at the front desk were so friendly and really helpful, and they helped us book a number of activities and trips during our stay. The pool was great and we loved the wet bar as it was nicely heated and allowed us to sit on little stools in the water while enjoying a refreshing, cold drink. D... Read more

Stayed here for two nights as part of a larger tour of Costa Rica and found it very pleasant and enjoyable. On check in, the staff were friendly and efficient. The beds were also among the comfiest I have ever slept on, both nights I was out like a light and slept very well. Also I found the sliding balcony doors were very sound-proof. We experienced a large thunderstorm on the first night and noticed how well even the louder claps of thunder were muffled. We spent both evenings at the swim... Read more

This wasn't the most charming of the hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica, but the rooms are decent with views of Arenal from the balconies. Nice swimming pool, again with great views, and a pool bar. Breakfast was fine, although service was a bit slow (there was a conference going on at the time, so maybe it's usually faster). Some bars and restaurants within walking distance, which is useful if you're doing tours and don't have time to go into town. Plus, it's pretty close to the volcano so handy... Read more

I recently stayed at Magic Mountain two weeks ago, I would have to say an incredible experience. My favorite part about staying at Magic Mountain was waking up every morning to an incredible view of the Arenal volcano. It was breath taking waking up to this incredible scenery. This hotel was more of a botique hotel. Very quaint. The rooms are basic, tile floors, mini-fridge, very clean and they overlook the Arenal volcano and on a clear day it is quite a view. The pool has a swim up bar with stools in the water. There is a restaurant on site and very good food. Hospitality is very welcoming. The surrounding area is very quiet and calming.

We took a five day get away to Coasta Rica and stayed at Hotel Magic Mountain. At first I did not know what to make of the name. When I hear " Magic Mountain," I automatically think man made water slides and artificial smoke coming from a paper mache volcano..... But that was not the case ! We stayed on the second floor and had a full view of the volcano, El Arenal, from our balcony. The sliding glass doors from the bedroom open up to the balcony so we had a spectacular view 24/7 ! This place was definitely good for a vacation. Happy hours jumped from pool to bar to restaurant and the food we had for dinner was outstanding. We also enjoyed the company of the manager as he shared stories of his time in America. I saw better other hotels that offered different amenities. Magic Mountain is cost effective and ... Read more

We stayed here for 2 nights on a tour. The hotel is positioned so that all rooms face the volcano. The grounds are small but beautifully landscaped, especially around the pool area. When the clouds lift, the view of the volcano is awesome! The rooms are small but nicely appointed. During our stay the hotel had our group and another booked in. We just came off a fantastic experience in Manuel Antonio. We booked this place as a part of a travel deal. It was very close to Arenal and many of the attractions in the area so easy to get to many things (hanging bridges, the volcano, hot springs, etc.). The grounds themselves are beautiful with a pool, hot pool with a bar, and jaccuzzi. There is also a restaurant and a bar above the restaurant, we were often the only people in the bar but good cheap eats there.
