"The resort was beautiful. My wife and I cannot say much bad about the place. The staff remembered our names which I have much appreciation for. It was good and bad going during the slow season. The obvious good part is that we weren't bombarded with other tourists and received exceptional attention. The bad is that it appeared the hotel somewhat shuts down during this season. There was only one restaurant open and didn't babe affordae options. The other is the limited shuttle service. If we couldn't catch the bus, it was an automatic $10 one way in a cab.

To summarize, I highly recommend the resort to anyone. CR is a very pretty country. Do it right and stay at the Parador!"

"Pros:
We stayed in the suites which are pretty nice and have a super nice view of the ocean and the rain forest. The suites have a private pool and bar overlooking the ocean. Saw some cool animals lizards, sloths, few kind of monkeys, green snakes, not many birds though. Tours/activities in the area are really fun and pretty quick to get to with excellent guides!

Cons:
- This resort is on a hilltop which gives a nice view but it is a long walk to a small sandy/rocky beach.
- food is not great and overpriced.
- we booked an 'All inclusive' which only included breakfast...
- not a whole lot to do around the resort (pools, tennis, mini golf)
- internet was hit and miss the whole time
- surrounding towns are quite run down and grungy and all stores are really overpriced.

*We do not travel much and probably had a bit of culture shock which effected our experience. By the end of the week we were ready to come back to Canada. But aside from that it was a good time.

"Absolutely beautiful views from our balcony. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, not all could speak English. Free breakfast buffet was the best meal. Not impressed with the food otherwise and very expensive.Make note; tax and tip are included in price. Restaurants in town had more variety of foods and cheaper.When we arrived in San Jose airport,we had already purchased tickets from the Sansa Regional Airport (right next to the San Jose airport)to the Resort. 20 minute flight for $144.oo p/person.As my sister-n-law has mentioned already in their review, the site had advertised ....stay 5 nights and get a free dinner. We were there for 7 nights and no one had mentioned the free dinner,I had to ask about it.At first,the desk clerk said he didn't think so.....he knew nothing about it. The manager was standing at the end of desk,and when she heard me ask,she looked down and shook her head.....but I had my itinerary with me....and showed it to the clerk. We got our free dinner,but almost everything on the menu, we could not order.It was really a joke.(not funny).All in all, our trip was good and enjoyable. Oh, you might consider changing to their money and saving a lot of confusion."

"Parador Resort and Spa is a beautiful place! It is relaxing, classy, romantic, and exotic. This place is not for the party crowd, or those who are unwilling to travel 3 hours from the airport to the Resort. Being at the Resort feels like being in the middle of a rainforest, with monkeys and various birds visiting frequently. The resort is wonderful even when it rains- it is picturesque, and is the type of scenery one would imagine being surrounded by while working on a novel, or a travel diary. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and professional. I would highly recommend this Resort!"

"Our experience in Manuel Antonio was amazing. One of the best vacations we have ever had. View of the ocean is spectacular from the premium rooms. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Mostly a Spanish influence. Everything is open and outdoors, even the dining. the staff is bilingual, pleasant, and eager to make your stay wonderful. Felt like the staff were my friends when we left. The only negative, if there is one, is that the food overall is not what you would expect at a high end hotel. It is acceptable, but not outstanding. The included breakfast buffet is a plus, but the food is about a 3 /5. Use hotel for breakfast buffet and maybe lunch. Have lunch/dinner in town. there are multiple excellent restaurants to choose from, and most are cheaper than the hotel. Remember, this is Costa Rica, not Beverly Hills....I would give the hotel a 4 /5. If i were to go back to manual antonio i would not hesitate to stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to manual antonio area.."

"Our trip to Costa Rica was a great experience. The people and service there was top notch. This was especially true with our stay at the the resort and Spa. The folks there went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The guide we used was excellent and well worth the cost of the tours and on the tour of the Crocodiles and Macaws. The guy made our photos look fantastic. The only slightly negative comment that I would have is that since we are vegetarians it would be nice to see more options on their dinner menus - but they were very accommodating and did everything they could to make our meals vegetarian. "

"This resort was wonderful. We loved the views and the layout of the hotel grounds. Rain forest trails filled with monkeys and birds open up to views of the ocean. The pools were perfect for our kids to play and the restaurant, outdoor lounge and swim up bar were super fun. The staff was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We loved this resort!"

"This Hotel is the most beautiful hotel we have stayed in. From our balcony we watched monkeys, sloths, a Tuocan bird, lots of other birds. Swimming pools are great, stunning views. Free shuttle 5xdaily to the beach at Manuel Antonio Nat'l Park. Great service. Guest laundry on premises, path to the beach in front of the hotel. Jungle setting"

"My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Parador Resort,the staff was great ,we enjoyed the food the park that was close by.We also took advantage of the spa.(hot stones message :)..We will be planning another trip in the near future 5 ***** VERY PLEASED!"
