This is a good place to end the tour of Costa Rica. It has a lovely setting with lots of wildlife. We took the courtesy bus to the national park which was reliable. A tip for the national park is to go alone without a guide. The guides all seem to follow the same path and so you can stop to see what they are looking at. I also recommend an early morning stroll around the monkey trail - the animals are lively in the morning. The evening restaurant is nice although the menu is very limited, partic... Read more

Really enjoyed staff and amenities. Everyone was really friendly and the facilities are as described. Would come back any time. There is a shuttle to town and the national park if u don't have a car and want to leave the hotel. There was a residence sloth which was cute

We spent 4 nights here and really loved the amazing views, beautiful pools, shady sitting areas and the on property monkey trail. You will see so many animals....monkeys, sloths, iguanas and other interesting jungle critters. The staff here was so friendly and nice. Terrific hotel..very highly recommended!!

Beautiful hotel, amazing views. Best part was having the white faced monkeys jumping in the balcony every morning, along with toucans and raccoons visiting daily. Food is excellent nice improvement. BUT... extremely hard mattress and lumpy pillows. Horrible sleep. Service is slow and maintenance is lacking. Overall, huge potential, but many details that need to be worked out to make it a semi-luxury property.

Stayed here for 5 nights at the end of our trip to Costa Rica and were not disappointed. Probably saw more wildlife in the hotel grounds that in any other location - sloths, howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, very cute squirrel monkeys, iguanas, lizards, racoons and an stunning selection of birds. Grounds are well kept and the view from our extremely spacious room was fantastic. Ate here a few times and the food was great - breakfast buffet very extensive and pretty varied. All the staff ... Firstly, the location is almost unbeatable. The amount of wildlife we saw either from where we were sitting in the hotel or in the free trek inside the hotel grounds were amazing. Resident sloth sleeping and eating in a tree right next to the pool, waking up to a chorus of howler monkeys, toucans and birds of prey flying close to balconies...it is some of the best I've ever seen. The hotel itself is nice, the pools are great and we really liked the pool bar and the facilities are good and every... Read more

We loved hotel Parador. The resort is beautiful, wonderful pools with swim up bar, very clean. The staff were superb, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, even the included breakfast. The spa was fabulous too, we all enjoyed our messages. We had a standard room, It was fine, but may upgrade if I went again. Highly recommend this place, didn't want to leave.

I would have to say that our food was mediocre but the view, service and the animals were exceptional. I had a spider monkey steal a cherry out of my drink as it spilled it (I was not mad), the toucans were everywhere, the lizards were sunning themselves by the pool. Before we left there were 4 spider monkeys running around the tables looking for handouts. My family was in animal heaven.

First off, the hotel. Yes, some reviewers have said the decor is a little dated. The rooms are a little dated, but the rest of the hotel is perfectly modern. (Note that we stayed here coming from the Royal Corin in Arenal, which is very modern.) More importantly, the whole place is spotlessly clean. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, and speak very good English (and Spanish). We went for a garden room but were upgraded to a tropical room. The room is housekept daily in the morning, i... Read more
