This is our third time back at Marriott Los Suenos and we think it just gets better and better every time!! When you first walk in to the front desk Priscilla and Silvia are there to greet you and help you out with anything you might need. They are like family to us. The waiters and waitress and bar help like Elmer in the resturant who is always so polite and thoughtful and friendly!! Then you have Wendy at the outside pool who will teach you a new spanish word every day and is always smiling!... Read more

we spent 8 happy nights here on a first trip to experience costa Rica and can highly recommend this resort. the landscaping and pool areas were stunning filled with tropical plants. we relaxed on free cabanas and pool chairs whilst iguanas and scarlet macaws wandered by! amazing . the hotel says it was last renovated in 1999 but I find this impossible to believe given the standard of furniture and freshly painted areas. the view from our balcony over the pools and sea beyond into Herradura bay w... My husband and I and my sister and her husband stayed at Los Suenos for a week and I never wanted to leave! Not only were the rooms HUGE (ours was a king and even the bathroom was larger than one of the apartments in the US I used to rent!), but the entire resort was breathtakingly beautiful! Lagoon pools that stretched across the grounds where you could walk/swim throughout and up to the swim-up bar (which we did quite a bit!) :) Iguanas, squirrels and other wildlife on the grounds made you tru... I'll be honest, this was a one night stay due to a colossal error on the part of another 5 star resort. I won't mention any names but they're up a huge hill and boast about the best sunset view in Costa Rica. We left there and ended up at the Marriott, thankfully. My husband and I are on our honeymoon doing a coastal tour of Costa Rica. The experience began with Mariano, the wonderful front desk attendant. June is apparently a slow month, so the bars and restaurants at the hotel are lightly manned; we went over to El Galeon in the marina at 5:20 last night, which is awesome by the way. The room is nice, great view of the pool which is huge. I was sitting on the veranda outside the lobby enjoying the sound of the waterfalls, when I started to hear this boom, boom, throbbing sound in the background, which I suppose is music, but is more like some sort of psychological mental torture; requests to si... This hotel is fantastic. Great views of the ocean from rooms. Restaurants were good but over priced. The best part is the pool area. Huge pool lots of fun. Also loved relaxing in the hammocks. Hotel has a beautiful hacienda design. There is no nice beach so you won't want to get in the ocean but the pool makes up for it.

Loved the people and the property. Had a very comfortable room. The kids loved the pool and swim up bar. We took daily excursions with some of the tour operators on the beach. The kids favorite by far was the monkey feeding where Capuchin monkeys crawled over us. Also loved the river tour and croadile feeding. Had a great zipline park with wonderful views.

Beautiful location. Do not arrive at night, driving though dark acres before getting to the property is a chore when you're half asleep. Beach rocky so you cannot surf. Food and drinks crazy high, they are betting you won't drive in to town to eat. Also if you forget your passport in the safe, and travel to another Marriott property down the coast there is no effort made to call you. We found better alternatives for our next stay

My wife and I stayed for two nights at the end of May. The resort was very pleasant and the pool area was enjoyable and somewhat different than most with several interconnecting channels and limited large open areas - which we enjoyed. Had we paid cash I would have felt the resort was overpriced, but we stayed on points so it worked out well for us. The accommodations (we had a full ocean view with a balcony) are fairly basic although the bed is very comfortable and bug-free (hard to do in a place with so much rain and greenery). The only reason I gave 4 stars is b/c there are aspects of the hotel that are a bit outdated. Nothing important to me, but since this is a review, I couldn't give 5 stars. The outdated items include some roof tops, the pool and activity equipment, some gym equipment and a few room parts (cabinet doors, bathroom doors, etc). Again, no big deal, and the only reason I noticed these things is probably b/c the property overall is so amazing that where there is less than amazing you can't help but not... Read more
