We travel a lot and I don't usually take the time to write reviews, however I've been motivated after my stay. This is a gemstone of a hotel; all of the fantastic reviews I read had been repeated in my visit. Immaculate clean room, professional and polite employees who really work hard to make sure you have an enjoyable experience, the manager particularly has been exceptional.

This was one of my favourite places in Costa Rica. We stayed in an apartment there and could see lots of monkeys every morning from our balcony. We even saw squirrel monkeys which are apparently very rare. What I really liked about this place is: the view from the balcony, great infinite pool and big breakfast. They even give you a ride in a golf cart to a close by beach.

Our stay including three nights in the 1st level of the hotel portion of the Shana Hotel and Spa. The room was a bit dark and under cooled. The temps were very high during our stay and not being able to escape the heat was brutal. There were several somewhat minor issues in the room with regards to faucets (spraying water everywhere), cleanliness and a few larger issues (heavy glass shower door pulling from wall). The shower door would not freely swing meaning that when it shut it would swing in... Read more

Not quite as luxurious as El Parador next door, but friendlier staff. The owners come from French North Africa and greet you as a welcome guest. Many rooms don't have views but it's not important as they are very nicely laid out and you can get your views from the main pool and the restaurant. On Saturdays during the season they have live entertainment and the food is well presented and tasty at night though at breakfast it is just average.

This hotel was perfect for us. We were a family of four, 2 teenagers my wife and me. We booked the residence, and it was very accommodating. The two bedrooms were cozy and stylish. One morning we saw squirrel monkeys, some with babies sitting on their backs. It was amazing. The staff was outstanding. They went the extra mile to make sure we had what we needed. It was a fantastic stay, and we would certainly stay here again.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The price was more than fair. The room was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful. They have a semi-private beach that was quiet and peaceful compared to the busy beach everyone else goes to. The Shana was definitely one of the highlights of our 10 day trip down the coast to Uvita and back. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want. I lost the manager's card, but he and his staff went out of their way for us. In will absolutely stay there ag... Read more

My husband and I book this hotel through Expedia, and the description given was accurate. The room was big and spacious for all of us. Wi-Fi signal was strong and the air conditioning worked fine. The swimming pool was wonderful; we even saw some monkeys around it. Very good overall experience. The restaurant staff was fantastic. Extremely helpful and gave us great suggestions!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and our travel agent added to our itinerary a short visit to Manuel Antonio. I can see why. The place is beautiful. This hotel was an excellent choice, the service was good, rooms were clean and we really loved the pool. Our kids, teen agers, were happy to do the activities and we all joined the National Park guided hike tour and a zipline tour. This hotel is a good option for families.

We reserved this hotel for 4 nights. The location itself is excellent. The hotel is on a secondary road, minutes away from a beautiful private beach. We had a car, and it took us about 5 minutes to drive to the Manuel Antonio beach and National Park. The rooms were fantastic, huge and clean!! We never saw a hotel with bathrooms so big. The grounds were amazing, and we saw more wildlife around the hotel's gardens than anywhere else. We will come back.

We reserved rooms to stay here, along with a customer. While the location is great and very beautiful grounds, it lacks charm. The beds, while clean and nice looking, were not very comfortable and sleep was hard to find.
