"We recently spent 2 fantastic nights at the Bahia ,the accommodations were among some of the finest we have ever encountered in our travels in Costa Rica . The staff was very helpful ,the food was fantastic ,breakfast is included with your stay and was excellent ,lunch and dinner are very reasonable and the food was amazing. They have a tapas menu at happy hour that was great and as my wife stated 'the best ceviche she has ever had'our bartender made our nights fun and was very engaging . The surroundings are beautiful it's set on a hill over looking Playa Panama and they have their own little Playita(small beach). You will see howler monkeys ,birds ,iguanas and butterflies. The rooms are huge and very comfortable the views from your balcony is great especially sunrise. We look forward to our next visit and can't wait to see the new additions that James told us they are planning for the upcoming year ,we can't wait to return, Pura Vida!!!

"This was our (my husband & I) first trip to Costa Rica. It was the dry season, so if you want lush green forest don't go doing the months of Feb-May. We enjoyed it even though it was like a desert. You must like the heat in order for you to enjoy it. We found all the restaurants to be open and outside, nothing was enclosed. This resort was perfect for us, not a lot of people and a very relaxing environment. This resort is not all inclusive but has pool, bar, and restaurant on the premises plus access to two different beaches. There are even two restaurants off the premises that will come pick you up and bring you back at no charge. There is a small grocery store a few miles away where you can stock up on food to have in your room. The room has a refrigerator and microwave for convenience. We would return."

"Great quiet little hotel. Not fancy but comfortable. Have access to two beaches. Restaurant food was great and bar drinks were very good. Staff was very pleasant.
If you are looking for quiet and relaxation this is the place to go.This is a non-inclusive hotel. We stayed two weeks in Costa Rica one week in an inclusive and one week at this non-inclusive. I would come back to this non-inclusive before I would go back to the inclusive."

"First trip to Costa Rica with my husband and will definitely return. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Food at the restaurant is excellent. Drinks at the bar - Pura Vida. Took advantage of a tour that the front desk booked for us that was great. Also did our own excursions with another tour company. Met another great couple from NY who we had a blast with. I highly recommend this for anyone who appreciates a nice relaxing hotel ( not the all inclusive with the mega hotels)"

"Area has two waterfront areas, but I would hesitate to call one of them a true beach... it's mostly dirt and rocks. Its a short walk down the property to the gulf, and it is pretty nice. The beach itself looks filthy with trash, but if you can ignore that, the water is actually very pleasant. The kayaking off of the smaller beach is also nice, and I recommend taking advantage of that while you are there. The rooms are just okay... they are spacious and clean, but they are older and quaint. I suggest getting an upper room because there are no stairs inside the room, and you will likely see monkeys off your balcony as well as a multitude of birds. The staff is generally friendly, the included breakfast choices are all very delicious, and the pool area is nice and quiet. I suggest booking tours to other places before you come, if that is what you are interested in. The hotel operates with a certain tour company, but only certain ones will pick you up at this resort. Coco is small, touristy, and dirty, but we ended up eating there a lot due to its closeness. You won't need anything more than a basic vehicle, no 4x4, to get around this area."

"We stayed in an upper condo with a great view. This place isn't the fanciest, but it doesn't need to be. It's a great value and the staff make you feel like you are family. If you want to meet the people of Costa Rica, stay here. We stayed 10 days and had a blast. The Concierge is full of great information and advice. We were able to book the Palo Verde National Park and Guaitil Pottery tour from the front desk. We also booked a beach tour in a small boat the same way. We had a blast going with another couple from beach to beach and touring a small cave made by the waves washing against an outcropping and boring a tunnel from one side to the other with a tide pool inside. Visited Coco Beach (the local tourist town a few miles away) several times. The food is awesome, the crafts and clothes for sale excellent and the Canadian and American retirees a delight to talk with. Oh yeah, then there was the best taxi driver ever. He took us there, agreed to meet us for the return at a certain time and place and we missed each other by a few minutes. So like children we wandered across the street to the supermarket to buy goodies for our suite and the poor man parked and was going up and down the street looking for us. We thought we had missed him. He was fantastic enough to make sure we were OK. This man is awesome! The pool and spa at the resort are really nice and it was great to get in some laps. The small private beach is a gem tucked away and the hike over is beautiful. Go the other direction to the public beach, Playa Panama, and you've got one of the loveliest long beaches and with gentle waves I've walked in a long time. In short, this place was relaxing and convenient. The price was right. The entertainments and beautiful locales are abundant. The people make the place. I would gladly invite these people to stay in my home. They certainly made it wonderful to visit theirs. (11/12 - 21/2012)"
