The staff here is VERY friendly and helpful. There are multiple natural hot springs on site varying in temperatures from pretty hot to mildly warm. Don't pack a white suit, as the minerals will stain it yellow. My family and I spent a lot of time in the wet bar, where the kids swam around while my husband and I had a cocktail and enjoyed delicious bar food. There is also a VERY cold traditional swimming pool, if you're looking to cool off and have a swim. The restaurant on site has delici... Read more

Arsenal Paraiso resort is outstanding. Great location to activities such as zip lining and walking through the rain forest. Cabin are built with spacious gorgeous wood rooms and have a lovely porch and rockers. The warm springs were relaxing. The lodge is lovely and food plentiful and decent.

Arenal Paraiso is a beautifully landscaped, tidy resort with charming individual cabins, a few km outside town. Rooms are impeccably clean. Lobby staff was always helpful. The food in the on-site restaurant was sub-standard and warrants the $10 cab ride to go into town for food.

Every room/cottage has a fantastic view of the Arenal Volcano, the grounds are well kept, lush and beautiful, the thermal water pools are very relaxing, they have approximately 5 different pools with different termperatures raging from 40 to 26 degree celcius...there is a pool bar and also a regular cold water pool (pool towels and lockers included). The breakfast is delicious and includes typical dishes such as pinto (rice with black beans). It is a very peaceful and beautiful resort, I only st... Read more

Our stay here was pleasant. The rooms are spacious, the restaurant has good food and multiple activities right in the hotel - hot springs, zip lining and sloths on the trees. The hot springs was a big plus right in the hotel we would unwind after all the adventure activities with a drink soaking in the hot springs.

My review is probably going to sound a lot like some others already posted, but I think it's worth repeating... - The bathrooms are badly in need of some upgrading. Showers are shoddy, hot water is unreliable, and sometimes it'll just shut off while you are standing there soapy. The towels smelled like chemicals and were rough as sandpaper. - KIDS EVERYWHERE. Don't expect a quiet meal or to relax in the hot springs. - While I'm talking about the hot springs... this was a huge disappointment.... Read more

We stayed here for one night and were very glad to leave. The hot springs are not really hot and if you want a pool towel you have to bring your credit card to the reception and only then they will give you a voucher. You take that voucher to where the lady with the pool towel is and she will give you one towel per voucher. Once you are done you have to take your towel back to the lady, get your voucher back, take the voucher to the reception. If you don't give the voucher back at reception,... Read more

This was our last stop of a 10 day journey in Costa Rica, while pretty this had the worst service. The restaurant is expensive compared to other places we stayed, and the food was just ok. One day they ran out of avocados, the next day they ran out of mangos and the day after they ran out of pineapple. It's not like they didn't know how many people they had. Check in was horrible and we waited several hours for our rooms to be prepared. The rooms are nice with lovely front and back porches, bu... Read more

We liked our cabin, had a great view of the volcano, the hot springs were clean, warm and perfectly situated in tropical lush settings. The grounds were huge and well maintained. The cabins were basic, but clean and comfortable. Not luxury, but a nice eco lodge in a beautiful area.

Good location near town. Reminds me of the little bungalow motels along highway 40 before Interstate 70 was complete. A little primitive but adequate. Good food and good hot springs pools. The horse ride to get closer view of volcano worth time and money. Marco was a great guide. Watch out "Mapo" the horse bites. But not hard.
