"We stayed 2 nights at Tabacon Hot Springs and enjoyed every minute of it. We have been to hot springs in CO but they don't even compare to Tabacon. The beauty was incomparable. We were blessed with a clear day on our first day and could see the volcano in its entirety. We arrived late at night to check in but we were greeted at the door with cool towels to freshen up and complementary drinks during check-in. We highly recommend rappelling down waterfalls with PureTrek. We would stay again for sure!"

"Spent two nights at Tabacon Grand Spa thermal resort. What a wonderful place an so relaxing. It rained both days that we were there so we didn't do the Hanging Bridges hike that we had planned. However, the rain doesn't affect your experience in the hot springs. The price of the room includes admittance into the hot springs which is $60/person per day so the room price is more affordable if you factor in the hot springs ticket price. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We didn't have a car so we ate both dinner meals at the hotel and they were both great. The drive from San Jose is tricky, particularly if it is raining. Lots of fog. You might not see the volcano while you are there because of the fog. We never saw it but we sure enjoyed the hot water it provided."

"We just got back from a fabulous week in Costa Rica, we stayed at Villa Sol in Playa Hermosa, but booked one night stay at Tabacon and are so glad we did. The hotel, fitness centre, pool and landscaping are all out of this world. Very much like a 5 star here in canada, with the Volcano in the background. We didn't eat there, but took the 10 minute drive into La Fortuna for a meal. The menu did look appetizing though. The highlight of Tabacon, the hot springs! miles of them like a natural river with waterfalls. We saw Tucanes and lizards. The springs are very relaxing and hot. Beautiful resort, completely felt pampered here and would love to go again."

"The Tabacon Resort was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The value was great (found a room on bookit.com for $199 a night for 2 people) as it included entry into the thermal spa which was unbelievable. Unfortunately we didn't get to go to the spa on our second night as there was a thunderstorm. The rooms were large and very nice. My only gripe would be the food at the hotel was pretty expensive but we had a car and drove to Fortuna every night for dinner."

"Beautiful Hot Springs. When we arrived our room wasn't ready so we headed to the springs to soak in the warm river. It was very peaceful and tranquil. The volcano is dormant but you could see smoke coming from the top of the mountain when it is clear. We could also see monkeys in the tree from our room. Everyone was very nice and accomodating and the rooms were very clean. The value is great. If you were to use the hot springs only then it is $60/pp. Depending on how many are in your party the room was basically free as the springs are included in the room rate. When looking at the price ala carte it would've cost us more to stay at another hotel and then to pay admission into this one. 5 star I would say no but 4 star yes. Very close to town for meals as it is very costly to eat at the hotel. We brought our own bottle of wine and took it with us to the springs. Otherwise drinks are $10/each and beer is $6"

"This is a great resort in the middle of Costa Rica. The rooms are very nice, especially the honeymoon suites. Many rooms offer views of the Arenal volcano which has been known to 'come alive' so you want to keep an eye on it. The landscape is lush and plentiful. Plants, flowers, and animals are varied and abundant. The thermal springs next door are great. The HOT running waters are great to soak in. Too hot? They offer smaller, cooler pools to chill in. The recently openned Shangri-La Gardens inside are as tranquil and relaxing a place as you will find anywhere. You can rest inside a cabana, listening to the gentle music which plays thoughout the gardens. The attentive staff will offer drinks or a bite to eat.
Hummingbirds fly by or was it a Blue Morpheus butterfly? A gentle rain starts to fall which adds to the beauty of the rain forrest. Just close the drapes of the cabana to shield the rain. Thunder can be heard in the distance. This is Shangri-La.
The Grand Spa is one of the best I have been to. For a massage, they escort you to an open hut in a secluded part of the forrest. There is a fast running stream nearby. You become one with the forrest; you see, hear, smell, feel, and just about taste your enviroment. Prices are very good for the experince you receive.
If you are looking for a place to escape from civilization, Tabacon is the place."

"Amazing Thermal river experience! We were able to book the hotel room for only slightly more than the cost of admittance for 2 to the springs. We had fortunately noticed prior to arrival how far from the town La Fortuna the resort really was and came prepared with wine & snacks purchased while in town as the restaurants on the resort are pricey! We added the breakfast buffet in our room for 20.00 PP (very good, excellent service & view!) and for dinner chose the � la carte Tandoori menu instead of the buffet; again a wonderful choice and not expensive. You can spend hours in the daylight exploring the various pools and waterfalls of the thermal river Tabacon; a bit dangerous in the dark though (& private). We spent hours perched under waterfalls basking in 'natures own deep tissue massage'. Taxis from the resort cost 20.00 to get into town."
