"This was the worst part of our trip to Costa Rica! When we arrived the place was beautiful, I will give them that, but the whole place was really creepy. There was only 2 other couples who where staying on the property and they were obvisously friends and family of the staff. When we got to the room we realized that there was no air conditioning, then there were bugs all over the beds, after traveling for so long that day, and the fact that we were in the jungle mountains and raining we decided to stay and just not finish out our days we had purchased and book somewhere else the next night. We headed down to get dinner since we were starving and had pre paid with the 1/2 board meal plan. We were charged 35.00 for hummus and a veggie burger with two waters. We were told that the meals were not included by the waiter and we had to pay. Even though we had already paid! Food wasn't anything special. This sisn't even the worst part of the trip, at about 10:30 pm all of the electric shut off, we didn't have AC so this ment no fans either, all wi-fi turned off, and no phones were available. No one from the resort came to check on us. We were so miserable that we ended up driving 2hrs in the rain to try and find a new hotel. Unfortunately nothing was open by now so we ended up sleeping in our rental car in a hospital parking lot becasue that was the only place we felt safe. Both of us sleeping a total of about 3 hours each while the other stayed up to watch the car. When we went back to the hotel to check out I had to agrue with the desk guy about our food charge of $35. Not a pleasent experience."

"Lands in Love is a 300 acre resort whose owners believe in valuing the environment, care for animals, and following a vegetarian/gluten free diet. I have never had a pet nor been a vegetarian and typically my idea of a vacation is visiting a busy city. However, I thoroughly enjoyed a week-long stay at Lands in Love. It provided a perfect blend of relaxation around a large pool with new experiences such as zip-lining, a visit to a luxurious hot springs spa, and a 2 km walk through the forest on hanging bridges. Others enjoyed horseback riding, canyoning, and white water surfing, but, given my age, I was reluctant to try those activities. The setting was magnificent - endless valleys, hills, brilliantly colored flowers, lakes, lush vegetation. I looked forward to starting each morning sitting on the patio outside our room with a cup of Costa Rican coffee. The food in the resort was amazing; and the head chef willingly shared the half dozen recipes which I look forward to reproducing asap. Our room and the lodge were immaculate. Although there was not air conditioning, the numerous ceiling fans made it quite comfortable. In fact, I probably slept better than I do at home (perhaps because of the fresh air and exercise). I initially agreed to the trip expecting nothing more than a week of uninterrupted reading, but came away with an appreciation of a healthier lifestyle and knowledge of a different way of life. The very best part was the staff. I felt, at the end of the week, as if I was leaving behind a group of friends. They did everything in their power to make us welcome, just as someone would when visiting his or her home."

"We just came back from Costa Rica and had a wonderful time.

We stayed 4 nights in Lands in Love and it was great; Everybody was so nice, the food was amazing, the panoramic view from the porch in front of the rooms is breath taking.

The pool was nice and clean. The rooms were simple but clean and the bed was very comfortable ( and I have a bed back, so that is very important to me).

The tours in the property itself and the ones they arranged for us were all in good taste with nice and knowledgeable guides. We got to see many birds, monkeys, snakes, frogs - even a red one with blue legs. Just great.

We will come back again."
