I had the opportunity to spend a while at the InterContinental Hotel and the best part by far was the food at the Market Restaurant. The food was delicious, the fruits were fresh and the smoothies always hit the spot. The service at the restaurant was superb, the staff was very attentive to our needs and made sure every sitting was an enjoyable experience more especially the hostess/waitress Marianela who took the time to make sure all our culinary needs were met every time we visited the rest... Strong wifi throughout, a choice of restaurants (all were great) on site, an excellent spa and well maintained rooms, garden and pools Staff were also helpful and welcoming Really a perfect stay ! Wouldn't try anywhere else in San Jose

From the time I checked in, the desk clerk, Karla, was so accommodating and helpful with my concerns about changing from a single bed to two queen size that it made the rest of the day just as pleasant as being on a cruise. The gym and spa facilities were spacious and luxurious, and even though the steam room was closed, there was a very large spa pool that was even better!

Great hotel and always top notch. The amenities and room furnishings were all high quality and I felt super spoiled. Wifi was also excellent. Location is excellent too as the Multiplaza Mall is right across the street. You can either walk over there or the taxis will drop you off there for free and bring you back for free. =)

The pool is beautiful and the view is great from the room. The room itself is good, similar to other Intercontinental hotels in big cities. The food is lacking though, compared to the intercontinental in Mexico City. Not bad, but nothing special.

Excellent hotel well up to the usual Intercontinental Brand standard, but with local flavour in terms of the style and decor. Great location and with helpful and courteous staff. A good pool area and fitness centre. Excellent restaurants within the hotel and a casino opposite. A quality place to stay for business.

I found this hotel to be very comfortable. The location relative to San Jose is great, and its right across the street from the Multi Plaza mall. In addition, the good, the hotel has inclusive restaurants, shops, and taxi service. However, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore San Jose or get feel for the locale since it's a considerable distance outside of town and is in a very upscale area. I booked the hotel with my IHG points and I thought the staff was very helpful ... Read more

I go to San Jose quite often, and because my office is close to the Inter, always stay there. I found out that for $200 dollars a year, I can get Ambassador status and stay at the executive wing of the hotel. So I have been doing that for quite sometime now. The Intercontinental is a very nice place to be at. The service is second to none and the choice of places to eat are real nice. We stayed 2-nights during our travels through Costa Rica. This hotel is in a great spot, walking distance to the local mall and not too far from the airport. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the rooms are beautiful. The main restaurant puts a good spread for breakfast but truly shine during dinner. You can build your own pasta, pizza, burger or wrap, all of which were delicious!

We spent 6 nights in the club tower. All great, very good restaurants, great people until we were asked to pay cash 1 USD to post a card already stamped by the receptionist. First time in my life! I asked the taxi driver to do it, it was free! I would recommend the Italian restaurant

The hotel was beautiful, pool was great, food was also amazing. But the service at the front desk at check in, during the stay, and at check out could have been improved. Just not a very warm and friendly service from the staff. The ATM machine was not working most days during my stay and the staff wasn't very helpful with directing me to finding one nearby. This hotel stands out. Elegant, modern, oversized rooms with tasteful decor and appointments. A very large bathroom with seperate shower and tub area. The bed linens and pillows are plush and exquisite. I enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Good variety and well prepared. The Costa Ricans are very warm and hospitable. The staff was attentive and service minded. Though I never enjoyed it personally, the pool area in the center of the complex, looked very inviting and well used.

I stayed at this hotel for just under a week. The hotel is smart and business like but with an air of luxury. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Slippers and a super soft robe was available in the room but unfortunately no bottled water. My only compliant, which was minor, was the need to request a toothbrush and toothpaste as they were not automatically supplied in the rooms.
