We loved this resort. We initially only planned to stay 2 days but liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed 4 days. The rooms are not huge but had everything we needed - they were bright and clean, good bed, TV, A/C, fridge, hot water in shower. The staff is great - very friendly. The free breakfast was great - eggs, ham, French toast, fruit, plantains, rice bad beans, etc. There is a great patio with each room that has a table and stools, lounge chairs, fridge and sink. You can get ice ... Read more

We were extremely happy with Villas Rio Mar. The rooms and outside patio areas were great. The grounds are beautiful and the large well maintained pool is also nice. Breakfast every morning was included and delicious. The staff couldn't have been nicer. We arrived with no resevation and were offered a discount from the official rate. After breakfast the next day we booked a second night. The next morning we signed up for two more nights. The maids and restarunt staff were smiling and attentive. ... Read more

Don't let first impressions put you off... the reception/car park area is shabby and desperately needs updating. Our room is also a little dated, especially the bathroom, and the cleaner does the bare minimum. Having said that, we are enjoying the relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. Staff are very helpful, friendly and speak excellent English. The pool is large, attractive, with lots of Costa Rican families enjoying themselves. No one pays attention to the long list of rules and you can enjoy ... Read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights, it is very rare for me to leave a bad review but this hotel is certainly worth a bad review. We were travelling light and decided to get some laundry done at the hotel. The cost was very high for one bag at over 50 dollars though we accepted this and gave the laundry bag over for the convenience of having it done in the hotel rather than walk into town. The hotel was a good walk into town. One of the shirts was damaged beyond repair - some white stai... Read more

Dominical is a 3 street town next to the beach where you'll find a lot of surfers because of the mid size waves. Hotel facilities are pretty good, with a mid size pool and lots of gardens. We booked this hotel for a relaxing weekend, unfortunatelly on friday arrived a large group (50+ people) which took all of the pool area and it wasn't as relaxing as we thought. Rooms are really basic but you won't need more.

My stay here was amazing! what struck me most was the garden and setting of the hotel. its spacious, colourful, GREEN and basically full of life! I've seen tuns of toucans, iguanas and all types of other birds during my stay! The property has a huge variety of vegetation, no wonder animals like it here!I n addition the walk to the beach is breathtaking! along the big Domincal river. all in all beautiful, had a great time!

I came here as a chaperone for nine 8th graders from California. We had a two night stay in this relaxing spot. The kids enjoyed the pool and the pool table during their downtime. Our science teachers enjoyed birdwatching on the beautiful grounds. Each room had a private terrace and a large bathroom. I enjoyed a warm, strong shower which was a treat as the last hotel we had stayed at didn't have a very good shower. We had two tasty buffet breakfasts and one yummy sit down dinner in the restauran... Read more
