The grounds of the resort were very beautiful. Lots of wildlife, one morning we woke up to about 10 monkeys swinging on the trees. There were lots of iguanas. The Italian restaurant is a must, the most delicious food. One complaint is they only had one bar during the day at the pool, besides at the lobby. Also the mini bar was very limited on drinks, for example one Pepsi and one diet. Neither of us drink diet so we had to split one daily. The beach was beautiful, but when we took tours there... We Stayed here 5/4/16 - 5/7/16. The hotel grounds are well taken care of and the room was comfortable and clean. We arrived around 1pm and had no trouble making our dinner reservations and getting into our room a bit early. The restaurants that we tried were all above average for an all inclusive. Only complaint is that we couldn't get reservations before 8pm for any of the nights, so we never got to see the evening entertainment. The staff were all AMAZING, especially Sylvia (Gomez? I thin... My husband and I went with a large group. The staff was stellar and went our of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We had two concierge 24 hours they were beyond helpful. The hotel was clean the room service was 24 hours and the food was wonderful. If you go on the beach make sure you get a massage from on of the ladies there. Unbelievable 1 hour massage for $20 dollars. I cant say enough about how the staff treated us with kindness. We will definitely return!

I hesitated between a four star review and a five star but the employees were the difference. There are many of them and every single one was extremely friendly and helpful. As far as the rooms are concerned I only require they be clean and have a good bed. Our room had both. The complex is huge. I would recommend that you ask for a room by the restaurants, pool and beach access which are all right by each other. Otherwise you will need to request a shuttle to take you to them. That isn't muc... Read more

Travelled mid April, very hot 38 deg. each day, no rain for many months. Very nice resort, nice rooms and facility in general was excellent. Very nice people with a great how can I serve you attitude. One alarming negative that a large percentage of people in our group succumbed to was some form of food poisoning. Lucky I got it on my last day of a one week trip. Took me a week to get better once I returned home. One of my group was analysised who had the same symtoms with Ecoli bacteria... Read more

I stayed for 4 nights in this hotel with my family and we all enjoyed it. The staff is evidently very well versed on what customer service means: with the nice combination of the tico style (kind, humble, attentive) with one of the highest levels of customer service quality I have ever seen .This was our first time in a Westin hotel and definitively we will come back. When we arrived the person who was processing our check-in noticed that we were in two different buildings, so he -proactively- to... I have never written a trip advisor review before, but this stay was so great it made me sign up so I could share with everyone our experience. My wife and I went for our anniversary over memorial day weekend 2016. We have been to many all inclusives before (mainly in Mexico), and we've always felt wanting more. Some instances in the past we stopped eating at the resort and would start going to "real" restaurants in town. This was the first time we felt we got our money's worth and more...we... Read more

The rooms in this resort are very nicely done and include a nice seating area and a desk if you need to get some work done. They barely restocked any items in the mini bar fridge and not once did they add any more snacks. We could have called to have them do this but at this style of resort, it shouldn't have to be asked for, just restocked when making up the room. Not many rooms are near the beach but we were fortunate to be quite close but the beach has a lot of vendors near the hotel. Go ... Read more

This was one of the worst stays at any resort that I ever experienced. We paid extra for an upgraded room in the Royal Beach club, but we never had any hot water in the room. We asked the staff to take a look at the water and nothing was ever done about it. I asked if we could have our room moved or the rate discounted, I was told by the agent that it is something out of the hotel's control and they won't do anything for us. We had a great six nights at the Westin. Service, grounds, and nature are 5 stars. The employees of the resort are universally helpful, warm, and hospitable. Playa Conchal is gorgeous. Turn left at the beach access and walk down a ways to avoid the artificial sand put there for the jet skis, and enjoy the natural unspoiled shell beach and warm pellucid water. There are no high rise units in this resort and you can‚??t see the water from your room, but you can experience a beautiful unspoiled na... Read more

We just returned home from our trip - we stayed at the Royal Beach Club section of the resort - the rooms were really nice and clean, separate pool area and breakfast spot - all of the restaurants had great food, which is sometimes hard to find in all inclusive resorts - however, I highly recommend making your reservations for each night as soon as you get there - the only restaurant that I wasn't particularly fond of was the main buffet. We booked this resort with two other couples for our friends 40th birthday and stayed in Tower I. For the price, location, and all inclusive amenities (adult only Royal Beach Club) this is a fantastic place to stay!! Even though I cannot speak for the family side (appeared a bit more crowded), the adult only aspect in regards to service was top notch and very accommodating (Free internet, 24 hour room service, top shelf drinks).

Visited this resort in May 2016. It is situated on the best beach on this side of Costa Rica - Pacific Ocean side. White "sand" beach - comprised of very fine shells - easy to walk on and soft to the touch. Water was very calm with just a wave that breaks on the shore. It does get deep only a few feet in - depending on the level of the tide. There are areas where it is very safe even for kids. It is a public beach but most of the locals tend to bathe at the northern end of the beach where there ... Read more

Located on the Pacific side, just south of Playa Flamingo and North of Tamarindo. It is a very large, gated facility with condos, traditional hotel rooms, and 'cabana-esque' junior suites (I am sure there were more options). The Westin was terrific, from arrival to departure, our visit was top notch. From the great drinks, the lovely grounds - it was wonderful how everything was both spread out and yet close. This is a very nice, clean and well maintained resort. My comment is that the experience is more "United States" than "Costa Rican". That is good for some but may disappoint others. The food is good but of the "all inclusive" type, U S style. Our family preferred a more "Costa Rica" experience. I suggest a few days at the Westin then head for the volcano and hot springs at " The Springs" at Tabacon, the waterfalls and wildlife at "Peace Lodge" outside San Jose and the resort " Tulemar" in ... Nice big hotel. I am not a fan of all inclusive so it was a surprise to me that I had a good time. Loved the excellent service. We loved the Italian restaurant and the fact that the two little things we asked for were readily solved: more pillows and a small bed. This property has the same Westin feel as those here in the states. It has all of the same amenities and makes you feel like you are at home. We arrived late in the evening and everything was ready for us. They made it easy to check in. The rooms were just as described and they were fully stocked. The accommodated our ... Read more

Our room was conveniently located in the middle of the property, just a few minutes away from the pool, beach and restaurants. We were very pleased with everything at the resort. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel and resort.

We stayed for 3 nights (all 11 adults and 8 kids). The resort is beautiful ‚?§Ôł? The staff was kind - although our check in process was a bit ridiculous . The food was delicious at the buffet, but the sushi restaurant was not. It's by reservation only. The service was not that great (as nice as they tried to be) and the food mediocre. Imagine waiting 1 1/2 hours for sushi!!! I heard the other restaurants were better. There are a bunch of all inclusive activities, but no one really reviewed th... Read more

I'll start off by saying that I did a ton of research on the all inclusive resorts in the area, and felt that the Westin would be our best bet. Which by the way, I found out that it was because we met some people that went to other resorts in the area and demanded a new hotel (the westin) because they hated their experience so much. It was very pretty but there were a few down sides. - Most of the restaurants are outdoors. It was beyond hot when I visited, so it was tough to eat in such steam... Read more

After touring the country, meeting with land developers we decided to spend 5 days at the Westin to unwind and play Golf. The only short coming with the service was the check in process it truly seemed like it took the best part of an hour to get through it. Even after calling the night before to confirm our arrival time. The Golf Course was good plenty of challenges, pro shop staff are top notch. The Staff through out the resort was attentive and very pleasant. Food was very good the buffets ar... Read more

We cannot wait to go back!!! We had the best experience - staff is terrific, kind, helpful, engaging & cannot do enough for their guests. There are 10 restaurants on the property & all were terrific. We participated in a few of the activities: yoga, pilates & water aerobics & enjoyed them all as well. We stayed in the Royal Beach Club which is adults only- could not have had a more relaxing & fun vacation. Room was perfect, free internet all over property, fridge always stocked, snacks left in r... Read more

This was our first experience with the Westin. We have been in Costa Rica for 18 years and have been around. One of our favorite places is the Conchal, Brasilito, Portrero area. We have said several times that we should stay in a resort right there, since we always wind up on Playa Conchal every time we go. I have to say, we were beyond surprised at the Westin. From the second we arrived on the property up until the unfortunate time of checking out, we felt like VIP's. We were pampered, treate... Read more

All the staff was wonderful - always willing to help to make your stay perfect - friendly & kind. All restauraunts were wonderful and completely kept clean at all times, even during their busy hours. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and our first time staying at an all inclusive resort. It was great. The best part of the trip was the staff!! They were always willing to help to make our trip perfect. We truly did not want for anything. We stayed at the Royal Beach Club which is so worth the extra cost. The check-in and check- out process was very smooth. Our room was always clean. The pool area was the best. Great staff especially Jeffrey always making sure you had a drink. The ... Read more

Went to the Royal Beach Club for a weekend and had a great time. Loved the food, specially at the Spirula and Cauri restaurants. The desserts were also great! Everyone was nice and caring. The hotel's employees looked glad to be there and were always looking to see if you needed something. Loved both pools, and had a nice time at the beach. The weather was lovely. I do wish the night-time activities had been a bit better, as the show given by the hotel's dancers was very cool, but a bit short... Read more

Pros: beautiful grounds, junior suite was gorgeous and spacious with a king size bed that could sleep 3 comfortably, everyone is so friendly, polite and proud of their country Cons: zero nightlife, some activities during the day, a lot of roaming animals. A huge family group of about 20 people visited and we had a great time. Like stated above, the resort was big and beautiful but kind of empty. This was helpful for finding pool and dining space but it made the resort very quiet. Also, there ... Read more

We stayed here for 5 nights towards the end of July to end our holiday in Costa Rica. I can honestly say that I cannot find fault with anything during the stay. The experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish. We arrived during a torrential rainstorm and our initial room had a small leak. We got upgraded to the adult only block within minutes. The room we left looked great and the one we moved to was exceptional. What made the stay so enjoyable was the amazing staff: those aro... Read more

I stayed a week in April with a large group. Overall we had a great time ‚?? the Westin has a convenient location, food is excellent and the staff are welcoming. But there‚??s no ‚??wow‚?? to the place. ROOMS The rooms were very large; the dining area lighting was very dim. Everything was clean and comfy, and I could watch tv from the bed or the couch, if I moved it a bit. I liked my big outside balcony, although it was too hot to use it much. My husband and I spent 8 days at the Westin ~ after reading the reviews we splurged for the Royal Beach Club which is kid-free, has private pool and exclusive bar, lounge, lunch and dinner options. The last minute upgrade was pricey, but in hindsight I am glad we did it. You also get a wrist band that allows you to access premier liquors. You can also access the entire resort, which is doable by walking, or there are always transporters zipping around in little trucks to get you where you need ... Read more

This was our second time to the Westin. We are already planning our trip back in 2018. Stayed for 9 days the end of July. We went back to the Westin because of the easy beach access for activities. Best snorkeling beach! The staff at the Westin were always very friendly and helpful. Met a lot of nice people who work there and helped us make our vacation the best. Julio was AWESOME !! We had a great time at the Westin Playa Conchal. The resort was clean, the food was great, even my picky children managed to find food they liked, the staff was excellent! We stayed in a Family Jr. Deluxe Suite which was great! Not enough towel hooks and I do wish that the restaurants had both reservations and first come first serve seating. Just returned from a week in CR. The Westin was the third and final stop. I was traveling as group of 8 and had 4 rooms total. I am not a big fan of all inclusive resorts but given the type of trip (40th celebration for friends since HS) we all had various budgets and expectations so this location appealed to several in our group. Upon arriving at the front desk I noticed grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. Noting spectacular but pretty. Our rooms were not ready and there was confus... Read more

We stayed with two other families at the Westin, a total of 12 people and overall we enjoyed our time in Costa Rica. The good: Playa Conchal is one of the nicest beaches I have ever stayed at. With the Catlina islands in the horizon, it's a very beautiful view. If you walk to the north end of the beach there is some great snorkelling by the rocks, and if you walk to the south end; soft velvety white sands. The pool is big and fun for the kids, and there are a lot of activities to enjoy. T... Read more

I stayed at the Westin over Labor Day Weekend. I was looking for a relaxing, beach get away. The property is beautiful and enormous. It will be a 5-10 minute walk to get anywhere on the property. There are drivers around to take you anywhere you want to go, but I didn't mind the walk. It is located in a reserve where you will see beautiful birds, howler monkeys and other wildlife. My feedback regarding my recent stay at Playa Conchal is as follows: The property itself is well-maintained and looked after very well by the groundspeople on site. The room we were given was quite a ways from the main area however, as there were regular shuttles, this wasn't a problem for us. Room cleanliness was okay but there were spider webs on the light fixtures (by the desk). There were 4 of us in the room however, towel /bathroom amenities allotment was for two people. We tri... The first day was absolutely terrible. We traveled 17 hours to get to Costa Rica and were exhausted by the time we got there. Due to our flights, we arrived at 8 am. I had emailed earlier and was told we could check in early. When we got there we were not allowed to check in until 3pm. We wandered around the resort, which is absolutely beautiful. The restaurants were great and we enjoyed all of the food (We ate at the Mitra buffet Cauri -French, Candelas - Latin, Bamboo - Asian, and Faisenella - Italian).
