They have an excellent restaurant. There is a great breakfast bar that has a really good variety, eggs, waffles, bacon, fruit, pastries, etc. Our waitress, Karla, went above and beyond her duties, she was an excellent server.

We used reward points for this stay so that may or may not have influenced our breakfast experience. First breakfast was "free". Second one was $11. Pricey for a continental breakfast. We weren't even offered a full breakfast, but it may have been the hour. 6AM. Airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes. Convenient.

We stayed here the night before an early flight. Nice newer hotel with a free shuttle to the airport. They also let us take the shuttle to the City Mall where we ate dinner. The rooms were comfortable, and it was seriously the perfect place to get a good night's sleep before an early flight. We would stay here again.

We stayed here because it was super close to the airport. This is a beautiful hotel. Very clean and the staff is every helpful. It was pouring down rain and they gave us umbrellas so we could walk across the street to get dinner. There is a Walmart next to this property and across the highway is a huge shopping mall. The hotel shuttle would have taken us there and picked us up if we wanted them to. Would stay here a gain! Price was good too.

Simple and efficient hotel, ok restaurant and free shuttle to the airport (5m). Do not expect anything fancy, but the Courtyard Marriot is a nice way to finish or start your trip without putting too much in an airport hotel

This place meets all expectations of a first class travelers facility. Rooms were spacious, nicely decorated, with great amenities. Nice restaurant with good complimentary breakfast but other restaurant prices a bit high. Pool was chilly and small.

We stayed here one night last week as we had an early morning flight back to the U.S. out of San Jose airport. This is a new, sleek hotel with great staff and nice rooms. The airport shuttle was full with a family of 10 when we came downstairs but the driver whisked them to the airport and came right back for us. The front desk staff offered to have the driver drop us at the nearby mall the evening before as well. Elevators require room keys to reach the floor you are staying on and air cond... Read more

Convenient hotel close to airport with free shuttle service to/from airport. Shuttle can also co to the nearby mall (brand new and largest mall in Central America). Service was outstanding. From the front desk to management, everyone was genuinely interested in helping us. Very safe and a great location !

We stayed here the night before we flew back to the U.S. It was very clean, nice and had food so we didn't have to to leave the hotel. Shuttle to the airport was super fast and staff at desk were very friendly.

Amazing welcoming staff. Shuttle service after a long and late evening arrival flight is most welcoming, especially given the 'exciting drivers' and limited signage (markings) for exits in and around San Jose Costa Rica area.

We always stay here when we have an early flight the next day. It's the most convenient hotel with a reliable shuttle service to the hotel. Prices are very reasonable as well. Only complaint I have is the lack of food quality in the restaurant. We had dinner the night before our departure and I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. I could tell my chicken was microwaved and was rubbery beyond consumption. It was absolutely the worst chicken I've ever had. The server apologized and immediately b... Read more

This is a nice clean modern Marriott property. It's very close to the airport with shuttle facilities and you don't have to deal with the rotary of doom (between 3 and the Pan American) if you are driving. Also, no flashing casino lights out the window. There are about 4-5 restaurants and a Walmart within walking distance. City Mall wouldn't be an unreasonable walk either. Pool is small and minimal but you're probably not staying here for the pool. Laundry machines are complementary!!

As a regular Marriott guest, I had high standards coming to the Courtyard and was not disappointed. The room was really clean and very comfortable. There was an easy shuttle service to and from SJO airport and free parking. The staff was nice, but still new and learning the ropes. There's a restaurant in the hotel that does a great breakfast and looked to have solid options for lunch and dinner as well. There's also a free business center for internet and printing needs which can be useful for c... Read more

My husband became ill when we were in Costa Rica and we had to leave early. We stayed at this hotel the night before the flight back to the U.S. and found it to be an oasis of calm and efficiency. Dinner was simple and delicious. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and the shuttle to the airport right on time. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and friendly. It was nice to be able to quickly print out our boarding passes in the business center. a great all-around experience.

Very nice place, super clean, just built few years ago. The workers are nice and speaks English very well. Close to the airport, like 5 minutes away.... Huge shopping center cross the street. We used to stay in some other hotels around the airport, but they are nothing good compared to this one... And you never can't go wrong with a Marriott property.. It was as expected..

Clean rooms, friendly English-speaking staff, and very close to the airport. Perfect for late arrivals and early departures. Shuttles leave for airport beginning at 4 a.m. as most flights out are early. Breakfast a little pricey, but it was fresh and delicious. Can't beat this hotel for all the above reasons.

Typical airport hotel with breakfast 11 $ or 20$ ( 2 types ),or we can go out and eat at restaurant just in front of the hotel. Go to downtown with the hotel bus for a flat rate of 35$. Great service, very quiet. A Wallmart at 2 minutes walk and an empty fridge in the room.

I stayed here for one night prior to an early flight out of the San Jose airport. This hotel is excellent for those purposes. I was upgraded to an executive room and it was a huge, with a comfy sofa/chaise lounge type thing to chill out on. The restaurant isn't great but is open until midnight, and there are some other restaurants nearby that might be better choices. There is a small market in the hotel but a Walmart next door, and I did visit the Walmart to buy a toiletry item--very convenient.... Read more

Pickup from the airport is confusing - look through the throngs of people waving signs for one that says "Courtyard Marriott". An English-speaking hotel rep will take you out of the chaos to a spot from which the shuttle van will pick you up. Check-in is super simple, just like any Marriott anywhere in the US. The hotel rooms look like every Marriott everywhere, and I swear they even smell the same. So... safe, clean, convenient, efficient, simple, and familiar. The only thing that stands out ... Read more

The traffic is horrible here so it is important to stay close to the airport. Our flight left at 7am so we needed to be there by 5am :( We feel like we got to sleep as long as we could because this hotel is so close to the airport. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful, They provided a free shuttle to the airport also.

We stayed in San Jose for one night prior to our departure from Costa Rica. Courtyard was clean, the shower was hot, and the gym was good. It was near the City Mall, Walmart and a little plaza with about 6 to 8 restaurants. The bed slept well. It is literally 5 minutes from the airport. Great stay.

After a horrible experience at another local hotel, our stay here was amazing, I would like to take a moment to recognize Luis at the front desk. He even allowed a super late checkout, for all those reasons we booked already the same hotel for our next stay

Stayed here for just one night before flying home. It's our second visit to this property. It's very close to the airport and easy to find if you looking for it in a car. It's on the opposite side of the highway to the airport. (On the right hand side of the road if you have San Jose behind you). If you are coming from Guanacaste it's on the other side of the road so you will need to cross over at some point). Look for the Courtyard Marriott Sign, the building is taller than the others n... Less than 5 minutes from the airport this hotel has comfortable meeting rooms decked with full service one would need. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the gym adequate. What really makes the difference is the amazing service from the front desk to the restaurant. Lorena treated me like a king at the front desk! Brian was an awesome waiter as well as Maria at breakfast. Personal, friendly and efficient. What more does one want?

First, it is a Marriott, and it has all the Marriott features. No need to tell you about all the Marriott features because this hotel has them all, from comfort, clean, wi-fi and gym. The free breakfast buffet shames its' American cousins. Too bad the U.S. Residence Inn or Courtyards do not provide this breakfast. The staff is top notch and very bi-lingual. I stayed one night night at this hotel before heading home. The Nayara Hotel & Spa ruined it for me because the contrast between the two hotels was so stark. My daughter on the other hand, said she found the bed more comfortable at the Courtyard. Once I got over the initial shock, I was fine. The room was ok and served the purpose which was being close to the airport, offering a courtesy shuttle and being reasonably priced. The coffee in the room was also very good. I'll be honest, my motivation for staying at the Courtyard was it's convenient location to the airport and the free pick-up/drop-off airport shuttle. That said, I was pleased to find that, beyond my simple needs as an airport shuttle, the Courtyard offered a quiet and comfortable sleep before my early morning departures. My room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is set close to the road, however it's up on a hill, so I was never bothered by any ambient traffic noise. You're far enough remove... Read more

If you need a hotel that is very, very close to the airport (and free shuttle transportation) with good quality accommodation, this is a good bet. That being said there are a few areas I was not too happy about. 1. We arrived into San Jose airport which is a very chaotic arrivals area. The information from the hotel told us to look out for the Courtyard sign to get the shuttle.
