The staff here were great. Very accommodating and helpful. It was nice to have a separate room, like a little cabin, with a view of the forest out the back door (as well as Brahma cows). The room, however, was a bit dated, chipped paint, etc. It was raining so very hard while were there we were unable to walk the trail to the creek and we never saw the Volcano. The breakfast was fine. The grounds are very well kept. I had a massage, and the spa area was mediocre.

This resort was a very unique experience. Individual "houses" were designated as rooms for everyone. Within the resort itself, it is quiet, clean, and engulfed in natural beauty. It would be great for couples and individuals. Location is ideal for all excursions around Arenal Volcano. A+ for the staff. They are outgoing, helpful and friendly with any and all questions. One downside was that I was a Solo traveler. It was difficult to find other travelers just to play cards or chat with. ... Read more

We stayed only one night at this location. The resort was situated well for a view of Arenal Volcano (provided the clouds lifted), the rooms were clean and large (though quite dated in terms of decor), the staff throughout the resort was very friendly and service-focussed, buffet breakfast was included and offered reasonable variety, pool was pretty. Just a 10 minute drive into La Fortuna.

I enjoyed the space of this hotel. We had a great, clean room. The staff was wonderful and I enjoyed walking the roads of this hotel while looking up at the volcano. I will definitely go back. We felt comfortable the entire time.

This place is advertised to sound so luxurious with its private bungalows and spa services but its really not very nice, especially for its expensive price. Our "superior" bungalow was full of bugs and the floor was soaking wet when we first got there. The staff was not very helpful with answering our questions and the wifi only worked in the lobby. The "hottub" was cold. There were mineral springs (not hot springs) and volcano mud but overall just was not impressed compared to the other lovely ... Read more

It's overall a nice place, but very worn. Everything was damp and everything in bathroom leaking. Wasn't fixed even though we asked for it. Staff was friendly and it's a gated 'community'. Wifi in restaurant and lobby, worked reasonably well.

Travelled with 6 people in 3 rooms (3 Adults, 3 Kids). Enjoyed the grounds, the pool and bar, and the restaurant. The 'Hot Pools' were tepid at best; 3 people other than us complained. The Deluxe Rooms we had were nice looking at first glance, but in very poor state upon close examination. Room 1 - Fridge compressor on last legs, no replacement provided, told to unplug and don't use. Shower dripped 7/24 - asked for fix, none provided. Toilet would not stop running on 1 out of 3 flushes (hard... Read more

I think this hotel used to be one of the nicer ones in the area, but hasn't been updated in a while. The rooms weren't terrible, but disappointingly outdated for the price. Little things like no bath mats were kind of weird. There is also NO WIFI service in any of the the rooms, only in select areas like the reception office and dining room. The breakfast was pretty bad: food was dried out, juices were too sweet. There are a lot of tours on the property, which you can reserve even if you're not ... Read more

We booked this hotel last minute. It was the most reasonable. Upon arrival we noticed that it had the most facilities and extras than any of the other hotels we have stayed at in Costa Rica so far. It has a great view of the volcano (if you are lucky enough to see it). Sadly it was covered in cloud while we were here..... and raining so prepare yourselves ;) When we arrived we booked two excursions - horseback riding and tubing. The horseback riding is actually run by the hotel and over t... Read more

It was such a treat to discover we had booked a stand alone bungalow for our stay at this hotel. The view was outstanding! The room was immaculate and well appointed with two huge beds, crisp linens, huge bathroom with super hot shower, in room refrigerator, mini bar, and the best little porch in the world! Every morning I sat outside in the rocking chair and drank my coffee (Costa Rican---yum!). The grounds of the hotel were tropical and gorgeous, but unfortunately it was too cold and rainy to...
