We wished we had stayed longer. Such friendly and helpful staff, from housekeeping to front of house nothing was too much. Our unit was well appointed, we particularly liked the outdoor shower. And situated in such an amazing place on the beach.

We stayed for 8 amazing days, wish it could have been longer! The staff were very friendly including the Manager Sue who took us on Sue's mystery tour the second day we were there and showed us some sites we may have missed otherwise. Our room was tastefully decorated and quiet just up from the beach, so lovely to walk across the sand to have breakfast each morning. The grounds are kept beautifully with the paths raked every day. Cleaning of the room could have been done more thoroughly, we wer... Read more

Want to be on "island time" then this is the place to be. No children under 16, friendly helpful staff, good food and drinks, right on the beach and the most relaxed place. There are free "activities" each day from a tour around Rarotonga, peal talk and management cocktails. Accommodation is what is expected, very comfortable, coffee and tea making facilities and the outdoor shower. We stayed in a garden unit and still very relaxing hearing the ocean at night and only a short walk to the beach.

The hotel management and staff went out of their way to make this a great place to enjoy the cook islands. Units are very clean and loved the outdoor shower, even in the rain. The rooms were quiet i had room 17, no one walking past. My room girl was the best, so obliging. Recommed to all age adults.

This resort, at $400 a night - not worth half that.No phone, no TV, an outdoor shower, and if you have to sit & wait in guest "lounge" - be careful where you sit. Breakfast is included, not a good variety of food. Even at night to eat there ,it will cost you heaps, food was cool , and not good at that.

We have just returned from a relaxing week at Manuia and very much regret not having booked for longer! If you want to get away from it all, the Cook Islands and this resort are certainly for you. No TV or phone were a plus for us, and the outdoor shower was a joy to use, private but open enough to feel a little naughty when bathing al fresco! (reading a recent -ve comment about the lack of TV and the outdoor shower I ask myself don't people read about a resort before booking in???) Our room ... Read more

I had room no.2 and it was perfect! Staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was they didn't tell the holidayer's that there was a party on in the restaurant one night and we couldn't have dinner. Ok for some, but I am a old solo traveller and it was raining that night. I wanted to eat where I was staying. Oh and no drinking water in the room, but you could fill your jug up at a tap on the restaurant wall! Just added to the atmosphere though!

Wonderful relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Quiet place with just 24 rooms. My husband really enjoyed his scuba lesson in the pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Great beach-front pool and restaurant. We loved our stay and would love to come back!

We had 4 nights at this lovely resort. The rooms are well appointed and the bed very comfortable. There is lots of storage room and a clothesline to hang wet gear in the lovely outside shower. The breakfast is the usual selection provided at most resorts but it was fresh and did include the yummiest pancakes. What makes this resort stand out is the location as it is on the sheltered side of the island and has the best sunsets. We had room 2 and sitting on the balcony in the afternoon sun wat... Read more

We visited for cocktails on the beach whilst watching the sunset. We can only comment on the restaurant / bar and customer service as we were visiting for the afteroon. We found the staff very happy and their custo er service was faultless. The guests were so lovely and friendly and the pool set up dight on the beach looked gorgeous. We were so impressed we stayed for dinner . WOW it was good, I had octopus to start then duck and my partner had scallop tart then beef. It was the most memorable... Read more

My mum and I enjoyed a very precious week together at this extraordinary, locally run resort. We booked not knowing much about Manuia and the resort dramatically exceeded our expectations. Sue, the owner, was a gracious and really informative and helpful guide for our special trip. The half-day 'mystery tour' run by Sue was a fantastic way to get our heads around the Island. The boutique resort was just perfect. Our beachfront villa was incredible and there was just the right mix of socialis... Read more

I stayed here with 2 girlfriends for a birthday and we had the best time ever. The staff were immediately friendly and helpful and we felt right at home. The restaurants sandy floor meant I could go for meals in bare feet which was pretty awesome, and the view out across the pool and beach was magical, especially at sunset. The meals were delicious...breakfast was standard and what you would expect anywhere, but there is options of buying a hot breakfast too. The loungers and beanbags were pl... Read more

Manuia is a lovely resort with stunning gardens and a fantastic location. The poolside is kept very clean and there are plenty of loungers, bean bags and chairs to lounge around in. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and its a very peaceful spot. I did however, feel that there are a few things that could be improved on given the over $400 (NZD) per night that we paid. These things may not be important to you in which case Manuia is perfect, but they did irk me. Despite having booked months... Read more

Sue and the team at Manuia Beach Resort are so very friendly and helpful, nothing is to much trouble. The resort is small, quiet and very beautiful. We had a beachfront room and the views were out of this world, so very close to the beach. We particuarly enjoyed Sue's Mystery Tour Experience, something she does at no cost to you. Our room was very comfortable, clean and I just loved the outside shower, amazing!

I couldn't fault this place, it was just what I needed at the time. Very relaxing and peaceful. The rooms were cleaned daily and well. Everywhere is sandy so do expect to get sand in the room. Bowls are supplied outside to rinse your feet before entering the room but it would a very careful person who didn't get some grains in there! I could have done with a little better selection of food at mealtimes but there are plenty of restaurants nearby so not really a major problem. I shall look f... Read more

Wonderful place with cordial staff, good prices in front of one the most beautiful landscape at sunset of the world. Management is always helpful and gets to know you in person. Music at night and restauarant on the beach with sand under your feet make this place magic. We loved our days of honeymoon here.

We had a lovely dinner here on the beach. Seafood platter for 2. A storm came in and we all got a little wet, but it added to the atmosphere. Staff were lovely as well. Take your shies off and sir at tables in the sand right on the waters edge.

This is our second visit to this resort in Raratonga. There are probably other good places to stay, but we loved it the first time and wanted to have the same experience again. The resort is clean, comfortable and well positioned. Getting around the island is easy- bus at the door. The resort is on the beach, so great swimming, along with a lovely pool. There is a good restaurant on the site. The rooms are quite basic and there isn't anything really to do except enjoy the whole island experience... Read more

This is our second holiday to Rarotonga and our second stay at Manuia. Wow we had another fantastic holiday. This place is adults only and set on the sheltered side of Rarotonga with the best sunsets. We stayed in Room 7 very close to the beach but all rooms are close to the beach. We love the outside shower and the very comfy beds and having air conditioning with the hot nights is great. Sue the owner here takes time to meet all the guests and is an amazing lady. This is a beautiful quiet resort with amazing friendly staff. We stayed in a garden villa which was lovely and peaceful. Everything is beautifully maintained. You take your shoes off and head for the sandy floor restaurant on the beach. Nice to sit and eat breakfast and enjoy the fresh sea air and the sound of the waves on the reef. The pool and deck chair area allow you to relax. Great sunsets and two opportunities of whale watching in the evening with a lovely cocktail i hand. Easy acces... Read more

I had a wonderfully relaxing time during my stay at the Manuia Beach Resort. It is a resort for over 18s. You are given a 120MB of free wifi you can use, though it is not always easy to access the Internet. It is located on the sheltered side of the island and it has its own restaurant and bar called On the Beach which is open all day. You can get cocktails at a reduced price during the Happy Hour from 4-6 pm. The breakfast was complimentary and consists of cereals, pancakes, toast, fresh f... Read more

Sue and her staff are so friendly and always have a smile on their faces and nothing is a problem. Gabe the waiter was always there when you needed him so not too many trips to the bar. This is a basic resort with I level units We found this to be the ideal place for anyone to relax and unwind Children under 16 are not allowed here and you have the problem of children running around unsupervised and screaming as we found from our holiday last year in Fiji. Sue, the manager takes a personal interest in you and at the end of our stay she seemed like more of a friend than just a manager.

We will be return! We had an amazing and relaxing time at Manuia Beach. The facilities are just awesome, from the rooms through to the infinity pool, loungers, beach, snorkeling - the lot. The whales putting on a display off the reef was a magical bonus highlight. The hospitality shown by Sue and her team is heartwarming, and her Tuesday tour of the island is a must do.
