I stayed here straight from the airport on my night flight and was really happy! It's a very traditional, colonial hotel representing well the typical architecture, with the wood beams, brick arches, tropical gardens breakfast area, etc. It's rooftop is actually really large for Cartagena, the same size as the 5* properties I visited! All "pools" in this city would be considered Jacuzzis or ornamental pools in Canada, but this one is both bigger and deeper! I really liked Kevin who always served... Read more

The best location possible in the city, close to the tour trips, airport, old city, nightclubs, restaurants and shopping. Nice and quiet, ideal place to relax after a long day. The staff is extremely professional and with knowledge of the local sites to visit, hanks to them we found a magical place in the "Islas del Rosario" : Isla del Encanto

First off, this hotel is in an absolutely perfect location. Just a minute walk from the clock tower gates (entrance to Centro) and right on the edge of the Getsemani neighborhood. You could not ask for a better location. Room was comfortable but minimally decorated. Comfy bed, decent bathroom. It's not a resort or super fancy but it's a comfortable stay. After all, you should be exploring the city not your hotel room. Staff friendly but not completely multilingual (not that it's expected)... Read more

We were greeted at the door and escorted to our room promptly. Check-in took 30 seconds. Very very much appreciated. The hotel is smallish approximately 30 rooms. It was very quiet during our stay. There was a Zumba marathon at the Convention Center across the street one night and it wasn't noticeable so outside noises obviously weren't and issue. The breakfast and the dining area were very nice and the pastries were delightful. This is the best location in Cartagena without question. The old c... Read more

Firstly, this is a great location for a hotel, facing the clock tower just outside of the walled city of Cartagena. Now, I stayed here in 2010, and paid a bit more at that time than I did just last month, which seemed like a great bargain. The hotel is quaint and the rooms are very nicely appointed. Breakfast was nice, but it did take some effort to ensure dishes were prepared without meat, not as easy it may seem. Why the three stars? This hotel boasts great views from its rooftop, where there... Read more

The staff was friendly and very helpful, amenities fine, rooms had everything you need. The location couldn't have been better. The only criticism we had was that the pool water was too warm --- but that's Cartagena weather.

After not really finding the hostel we wanted to stay in in Cartagena, we decided to look for a good deal hotel. Monterrey seemed perfectly fine for that. The location is great, just outside the city walls, and Getsemani around the corner. Rooms are big, but ours smelled pretty humid each time we entered. The rooftop bar and terrace have a lot of potential. This place could be awesome, but somehow it was very empty when we were there, which made it rather weird...

We got lucky and had a room with a balcony on the square with an excellent view of the old city. Cheaper than staying IN the old city but located conveniently close! Good breakfast included and lovely rooftop terrace. Comfortable bed. Great service.
