PROS: Rooms are very nice, new & modern. Good breakfast BUT small things like Brewed Decaf coffee was served as powdered Nescafe. CONS: Shower has terrible leak. Bathrobes are extremely small (Asian people &/or women), bed is terribly hard. Front desk staff completely unwilling at every turn to respond to & meet &/or exceed any guest requests & expectations, particularly disappointing for a Platinum Ambassador Status: Extra water, NO. Clean the room at the same time everyday, NO. Upgrad... Read more

In November 2016 we stayed at the Intercontinental Cartagena for 2 nights for a romantic weekend getaway. Despite having a late arrival due to a dealy of our flight from Bogotá, we received a warm welcome by the team of the night shift. Even though upon arrival our requested bedding type was not available, Ms. Romero, who is the hotel's loyalty champion, took the initiative the next day to perfectly fix this matter and provided us the requested king bed in an upgraded room. Furthermore Ms. Rome... Read more

I can't say enough about the InterContinental. Its location is perfect - right on the beach in Boca Grande within walking distance from local restaurants and shops. Also, the staff were amazing! Sergio, the concierge, helped us by coordinating transportation and answering all of our questions. The pool atmosphere was incredible (infinity pool with an ocean view!) and the room service selection of food was delicious at great prices. My husband and I were here for our honeymoon and we'd highly rec... Read more

Very good and comfortable hotel. Nice staff, nice clean and great rooms with view to the Caribbean Sea. Expensive for Cartagena but worth the price. The pool in the sixt floor with a great view to the sea is excellent. Behind the hotel is a shopping mall and all around you get all kind of restaurants, fast food chains, bars and shops. The beach is in front of the hotel. The old city is about 10 minutes in taxi which you can get in front of the hotel ( take the white ones which are safe and com... Read more

A true "spectacle". Service staff when asked for fresh coffee, will roll their eyes so far back into their heads that you will wonder if they are owls. You will long for the basics from home like clean silverware. The intercontinental Cartagena is the anemic representation of everything beautiful Cartagena and the people are. Prefer to stay at a hostel next time.

The actual suite I got was huge with 180 degree views of the beach. The floor was a wood product but was scratched in multiple places. The plastic slider for one of the window curtains shattered when I pulled it, maybe brittle from being exposed to constant sunlight? The rest of the room was fine though mostly empty space. It was a bit odd with power outlets in the floor - I'm guessing this hotel was a conversion from apartments or condos or just an odd design for a hotel. They also could h... Read more

Sitting at the northern tip of Columbia Cartagena is a must see beautiful city above all else. The InterContinental is perfectly located on the coast with spectacular views from the windows and property. 5 stars and top notch accommodations make this place perfect for business, personal or couples. High end luxury all the way!

Its a great hotel in Cartagena, and seems to be the newest one as well. The good think is that is new ;) Rooms are very spacious, personal is very polite and speaks english, yet might not be that helpful. We stayed over the hurricane period and our window was leaking water. Reception sent us the maintenance guy, who confirmed we have a tiny swimming pool near window, then a call from reception saying "yeah its true, but we cant do anything now." Aircon is not the best, as it lives its own life. ... Read more

I spent a weekend there with my best friends. Staff was very good and helped with some surprises my friends has prepared for my bachelorette. The room had a great view, spacious bathroom and its close to the historical city. I would definitely stay here again.

The intercontinental hotel was a excellent choice. It is so modern that they still haven't completed the fitness center. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Room was large and comfortable with two large beds and plenty of closet and drawer space. Nice view overlooking ocean.
