Bogota is an enormous sprawling city. La Candelaria is but one small "barrio" in an overwhelmingly large city. La Candelaria is the old part of town; there are good museums there; but not much else (except a great restaurant called Son de los Grillos.) The Muisca Hotel is perched on top of a steep road, next to a school, and surrounded by very little of consequence. You feel pretty isolated staying at this hotel. It is also very small. The doorways, halls, beds, bathrooms, sinks, etc. All... Read more

My friend and I wanted to stay somewhere in La Candelaria to have a base to explore the city. Muisca hotel was exactly what we needed. It is right on the edge of La Candelaria, close enough to easily walk to anywhere in the neighborhood, but not in one of the really loud party areas. It is a very steep hill up to Muisca from La Candelaria, so if you have any mobility issues, this would not be an idea place for out. It is several blocks from the main plaza. The rooms are simple, but clean and mod... Read more

We stayed at Hotel Muisca 5 nights, and from the moment we walked in the door (at 3 a.m.! Our flight was delayed)everyone was very helpful. If you don't speak Spanish, the staff will smile and work with you until understanding is reached. Our room was small but the beds were comfortable, and the shower provided hot water. Breakfast is included in the cost of your room. It is true that the hotel is located at the top of a steep hill, but taxis are cheap and available. Hotel Muisca has a charm... Read more

Hotel Muisca is a very beautiful hotel with nice old time atmosphere. It is located in the old town of Bogota on top of the hill, so maybe it is better to arrive by taxi. Staff is friendly and breakfast is very goo. Host is also fan of Jari Litmanen!

Muisca is a charming hotel in La Candelaria (the historic centre where almost all tourist attractions are located). Our room was very clean and spacious. A bit thin walls so you could sometimes hear your neighbours but I didn't bother too much. The hotel has a beautiful roof terrace with a great view of Bogot√° - the perfect spot for your morning coffee or afternoon drink. The breakfast was scrambled eggs or cereals with milk. We stayed at Muisca for almost a week so after I while we were a bi... Read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Muisca and really enjoyed it It was close to everything and had beautiful views on the city. The place was very charming and had great character and ambiance. The breakfast was really good and the staff were all very nice and helpful. Some people have mentioned that the La Candelabra area in Bogota is not safe at night, but we never felt uncomfortable or in danger and it was nice to be nearby the universities and sights. One thing I would add is that it is up o... Read more

Nice, well located hotel with big cozy rooms. Loved The decor, that told the stories of The muiscas, original people from that area. It has a great solarium, perfect for beer and wine at The sunset! Close to restaurants, but not a good option for elderly or people with lomocotion limitations.

We stayed 4 nights while visiting the city of Bogota. This location is best for more fit people who can walk hills and srairs. The hotel is very attractive inside and rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is fast and delicious. The staff friendly and attentive.

Very helpful and friendly staf, even before arrival helpful with organizing taxi service from the airport. We stayed for 5 days in a 4 person family room (upstairs) with our 2 teenage daughters, which was perfect for our cultural quests of the great city of Bogota. To bad the wifi connection was insufficient in our room. The hotel is situated in the colorful old neighborhood ‚??Candelaria‚?? near the historic center. A 10 minute walk downhill to the plaza Bolivar with the Cathedral and the Presi... Read more

This is one of the most charming hotels we have ever stayed in! The good: AWESOME service! Delicious breakfast and coffee. Good wifi. It is within walking distance of everything. The bad: If you have issues walking - it is located on a steep hill. I fell the first day, 2 doors down, but I do tend to trip on air... Although we are both otherwise very much walkers, my husband has sciatica that flares up occasionally, and we did have to opt for taxis to return a couple of times. Taxis are inexpen... Read more
