We had a wonderful time staying for 4 nights at Hotel bh Bicentenario in the La Candelaria Historic District in Bogota, Colombia's capital city. This is an older but immaculately maintained hotel. A wonderful Breakfast is included in the affordable price. The hotel is within easy walking distance of many of the major sites that anyone would want to see in Bogota. Bolivar Plaza is nearby, as is the Museo del Oro (Gold Museum, a must see), the Police Museum, majestic Cathredrals and other sights.... Read more

It's such a pity this hotel that such poor service given that the building is very modern, clean, and located in a convenient neighborhood close to all the tourist attractions. We (four people) stayed in a room with two double beds, for three nights. Pros: - The hotel building, room, and bathroom are all modern and clean. The rooms are fairly spacious and comfortable. - Breakfast is complimentary. Nothing spectacular (hot food: eggs, breads; fruits, cereals, yogurt, and juices), but still gr... Read more

Location is excellent, views of the mountains are great, and the staff is gentle. Rooms are clean and average. Building is modern but with very basic features. And STOP there! First hotel of this class in long time (and I do travel a lot) without hair drier, even without a shower cap. Extreme poverty of bathroom elements (they don`t always put you a new soap...) No air conditioning (all remedy is to open the very narrow piece of window that opens). In a city where you can't drink water from the ... Read more

This hotel is not much to look at from the outside but it was well located and nice enough inside. The reception desk is on the second floor and there is only one small elevator up to it from the main lobby. The front door to the street level lobby is only opened by a security guard. Apparently this is not the very best part of town. However, it was well located for exploring the Bogota's old town and museums. The rooms were relatively modern and clean. The staff tried hard but some struggled wi... Read more

I stayed at this hotel because I found it convenient to all the main attractions in historic Bogota, Monserrate Hill and Museo del Oro. I arrived close to midnight and had no issues with check in. My taxi driver was kind to walk me to the entrance of the hotel. You have to take an elevator to the reception area on an upper floor. My room was nice but basic. The view of the mountains (you can see the church at the top of Monserrate Hill) makes up for lacking amenities like a hair dryer. Breakfas... Read more

My colleague and I stayed at the Bicentenario in April to attend a conference. Even though this hotel advertised special rates for conference attendees in the conference packet, they refused to honor the rate and charged us exorbitant rates. After many phone calls, they refused to address the problem and refund the difference. We experienced unbelievably bad customer service, with absolutely NO attempt whatsoever on the part of the management to even come to some kind of compromise. Their manage... Read more

I was looking for a place to stay near the Universidad de Los Andes in an area that I could enjoy a walk in the morning. The bh Bicentenario was the best option. In spite of being in the touristic downtown area, it is not a location for tourists there are no good restaurants in the region. The hotel is comfortable and the breakfast is basic but with a good diversity of fruits and Colombia dishes. Try â??changuaâ?? a different way to eat eggs in the morning it goes well with a feijoa juice.

My wife and I spent 3 days touring Bogota and found the BH Bicentenario and excellent option as it is close to the La Candelaria area without being in the area subject to higher prices. The rooms were good sized and very clean - but be aware, there is no heating or AC as the temperatures in Bogota are constant year round. So if you are warm, ask the front desk for a fan, and leave the windows open. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, but after normal hours, there are few that speak ... Read more

Excellent hotel in Bogota in a good location close to many touris attractions (such as Museo del oro). Modern, spacious rooms, effective sound isolation, well-furnished. Fairly good breakfas and good wi-fi.

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for the first night, out of 5 nights, of our stay in Bogota. We did not want to make any commitments, and thought perhaps it would be a better idea to explore the city and compare rates/hotels. Hotel bh BIcentario, in comparison to most hotels within the La Candeleria area, was the most modern and cleanest of the hotels we checked out. Beyond the facility, the nightly rate surprisingly cheaper than most outdated hotels we checked out. The location is superb- ... Read more

I paid my 4 stay in advance. When I arrived I noticed I was staying far from my business meetings. I asked the manager if the could accommodate me in a different bh hotel and they told me they couldn't because they are owned by different administrations. The hotel it's fairly new and if you are on vacation this is a centric "hippie" area you may want to explore. I rated this hotel poor, mainly because of the service. I stayed 4 nights 3 days and the next morning after my arrival i ran out of sha... Read more

The bh Bicentenario is a great hotel in a perfect location for exploring the La Candelaria region of Bogota. Our room was large and very comfortable, with two large comfortable beds and lots of pillows. Excellent shower and many bathroom amenities. The included breakfast was very good and a nice way to start the day. The location is excellent. Two blocks from the Gold Museum and a great arcade with local handicrafts. The main plaza, Bolivar Plaza is only a few more blocks away. We were able to ... Read more

I went to Bogotá for a seminar in the downtown area and sure didn´t like the surroundings of this hotel, but rooms are quiet, comfortable and sleep quality is very good. Their breakfast sucks and service is poor, but the front desk tries to help fix the glitches if you complain. It´s not very expensive so if you have business in central Bogotá and does not intend to walk around at night, it is OK.

The hotel is located minutes from the pedestrian zone that leads to the Plaza Bolivar, at the heart of La Candelaria (old town). The entrance is located on the ground floor, but the reception desk is on the second floor. The entrance remains locked 24 hours, but there was always someone to let us in. From the bell hop to the kitchen staff, the hotel employees were pleasant, efficient, and friendly. The front desk was very helpful with locating a restaurant and with calling a cab for a ride to t... Read more
