Good place for relaxing and business. Spacious and great breakfast on 2nd floor. So many buffet choices. Good location near the lake, but a drive or taxi to other places. People at the hotel are gracious and will speak English if needed. I had great business and social meetings here.

Spacious rooms with recognised SPG upgrade. Checkin was relatively simple which sometimes is laborious in China. Great gym with several treadmill and cardio machines. Plenty of weights also. The lobby has a large area for meeting and this hotel is very modern. English was a struggle for some of the hosts however reasonable enough from management. The heat in the room was excessive due to the AC not having the ability to cool it down enough due to the Sun on that side of the building during Sp... Read more

The hotel is comfortable. Staff is really really friendly. Great view of Dushu Lake from the room. Nice continental options for food (I prefer Asian continental food). The staff is less on english but they try their best so be patient at the end they will get it ;-)

This hotel is a long way from the city centre and near the science park on the edge of a lake. I would not stay there unless you are on business as the area is very quiet. Don't bother paying for a room with a view as it's so smoggy you cant see anything. There is a small supermarket and a few restaurants over the road. I ate at the China Spice on the 3rd floor in the evening and at the eatery buffet on the 2nd floor for breakfast. Neither were expensive and both were nice. The room was fine wit... Read more

This hotel is not up to standard, they don't manage it well, staff not up to standard. Breakfast is bad, they won't take you the the seat, just grab your own seat. Check out process is bad, forget about the special line for platinum member, no one honors that. I have been here a few times but solely because of SPG points. I have always wanted to give this hotel another shot even though it has always been poor. I believe this is the last, I will not come back.

Looking for an spg property convenient to down town in Suzhou is nigh impossible. So decided to try this place in the industrial district. Hotel service was good (not great). Didn't really recognize my platinum membership although an upgrade was provided after prodding. Hotel was neat clean and modern. Internet was ordinary. Kept dropping out. Fairly standard in China but that's no excuse really. Breakfast buffet was 8/10. Hotel was quiet generally i.e. Room noise which is a positive. Dumb ch... Read more

Stayed two nights and was shocked when receiving the note with my sandwich saying that my food could potentially dangerous and decline all responsibility after it is served! What happens if I get sick because of the food? My fault!? I'm in shock right now lol.

Seasoned travelers know what is happening they are aware of the nuances between hotel groups. My review is aimed at assisting travelers that have not traveled. This hotel is excellent for those business wishing to view the area. It is not located in the city central and Suzhou is an excellent place to visit. Not polluted like other large cities, quite clean with good restaurants. This hotel is suited to business travelers working in that area. Internet is sparse, English is absolute minimal. The... Stayed here last week. Had a business meeting with a partner company nearby. A lot more English speaking staffs than 4 years ago. Came here and stayed for 3 nights 4 years ago for an academic conference. Back then they rarely spoke any English. I mean their English isn't crystal clear now but it's still much better than 4 years ago. They even understood my request for morning call. Breakfast was great. Temperature was just fine. Great job hotel. I would have given 4 points but my sink was clo... Read more

Again I stayed here with some colleagues, the hotel is perfectly situated for our needs and I have no complaints about the hotel at all. I noticed some staff had been promoted which is always nice to see, food and service are great as are the staff. I understand the hotel will become busy or more busy than it is now due to the new rail or underground system being put in place, we did notice how busy Suzhou traffic has become so this rail system will ease the traffic system I hope. Will be back a... Read more

Stayed five nights while participating in a Global Leadership seminar at nearby Dushu Lake Christian Church. Food, restaurant and staff were great. Had numerous meetings in large lobby-lounge area with lots of comfortable seating... couches, chairs, etc.

Despite it's four points hotel, the setup of this hotel does not pale against it's other hotel such as Meridien or Sheraton. In fact, I'm quite impressed by the scale of this building. The breakfast variety is good, catered to the taste of both Western and local customers. i was being upgraded to a suite, facing the lake - great view. Definitely will be back the next time.

Stayed for one night during my recent trip in Suzhou. It's very close to the nano city and other high-tech zone in Suzhou. Check-in and check-out were very efficient, and the staff tried the best for greetings and services. The breakfast has quite a lot of food selections.

Located in this industrial park, this hotel is set up for international conferences and travelers. Almost all the staff speak English, and were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was plentiful with a really huge selection of Chinese and Western food - including soups and omelettes cooked to order. The small meeting we were had included catered sandwiches which were adequate though perhaps not as tasty or wide in selection as we would typically get from Australia. The rooms were spacious... I chose this hotel because it was close to my office in the SIP. While the overall experience was good, there a few small things that they need to do. For example, the Wifi wasn't working in my room and they just couldn't figure it out until I discovered the power adapter was unplugged. Secondly, not every item listed in the room service menu is available nor are they exactly as described, so keep a couple of back up choices handy when you order. That said, the breakfast spread is awesome. As SPG Platinum who has lived in China 10+ years, I know my stuff. Staff were lazy and talked loud to each other, HVAC did not work, food was bland and management had "attitude". SPG Happy Hour was a joke. STAY AWAY

If it wasn't in the middle of no where I would probably give it 4 stars and if the staff were a bit more helpful then could have earn potential 5 stars. I went to Suzhou for business and didn't manage to get a more central location near the Expo Centre. This hotel to Old Town or Expo is a good 30mins taxi ride without traffic. Pros - rooms were spacious and comfortable, this you cannot fault so if you don't mind the distance then this would be fantastic. Cons - staff weren't very efficient nor... Read more

Stayed for two nights on business in this fabulous hotel. The hotel is on a lake so I suspect in the summer is quite nice but it was cold there on my visit. The breakfast is simply out of this world. Wake up hungry would be my advice!! Every cuisine is available from Sushi through noodles to a full English with multiple chefs on hand to cook in the unlikely event you can't find something! Any hotel that offers bread pudding and ice cream for breakfast wins it for me every time. The location is q... Read more
