The Bund is a mere ten minute walk from its namesake. The hitel is on a busy street but very quiet on the upper floors. We had a corner room on the 16th floor with a geat view. The breakfast was pretty good, but a little light on the Western menu. Check in was slow, but friendly. Internet sporactic.

Well situated with a walk of around 6 blocks to the Bund. Very clean and well furnished. We were on the 22nd executive floor with a lovely view. The staff were efficient but not over friendly. Complimentary water in the rooms. Rooms very large and well furnished. Very clean..

You get what you pay for, and you'll see that not many Americans stay here. If you don't mind the defects of this hotel (read on, dear user), and are attracted to the location and price, then this could be a great choice for you (and that's why I gave it three circles instead of two). But for most visitors, it won't be. Everything about this hotel reminds me of the 90's, the "China is still a developing country" stage: the vast wasted spaces, the large numbers of uniformed and not totally com... Read more

Quite a good hotel , food and rooms and bedding fine. We were on tour with 22 other people, one couple had to be given another room because it stank of urine. A one night stay I sat on the toilet in the morning and as I lifted my head , right in my face was a big brown dollop of dried something on the wall, it was the 150 mm diameter ( no prizes for guessing what it was !) Whilst waiting in the lounge for our tour bus we noticed the carpets were filthy. Hopefully they will learn how to do better... Read more

Not really close to much. I had to get a new room key everyday (sometimes more) because mine kept deactivating. Concierge didn't ever want to help call cabs. The room was decent.. Price was decent and service was decent and breakfast was decent. The staff wasn't the most helpful

We have spent 3 nights here and and have had a pleasant stay. Found the staff helpful - logged both our phones onto their wi-fi no problems. The breakfast was adequate - we had cereal and toast and jam - there were bacon and eggs and beans and plenty of other Chinese dishes - we didn't try these so can't comment. The room was clean and spacious - all toiletries provided (robes and slippers too) and also tea/coffee making facilities - had to pop to restaurant for some milk but they were OK with t... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a larger tour of China arranged through out tour company. The rooms and public areas were nice enough and I thought the location was reasonably located between Nanjing Road and The Bund but I enjoy walking. For those not into walking you need to know that the hotel is about a 20 minute walk to The Bund and 5-10 minute walk to Nanjing Road. We even walked about 25 minutes south to Yu Garden from the hotel. The included breakfast was well displayed and s... Read more

We stayed here two nights while touring with China Odyssey. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was nice - both western and Chinese choices and the staff was kind. For breakfast, we enjoyed omelets made fresh every morning and they had waffles which my kids loved. It was also nicely located. We took a 10 minute walk down to the Bund one night - so worth the walk! It's absolutely spectacular at night - don't miss this opportunity if you are staying here. Right outside the hote... Stopped and lunch here while on our China Trip. I have to say it was the best cooked and presented meal of the trip, mind you all the meals for lunch and dinner were the same food. Boiled rice, sweet and sour pork etc. Found the staff were ok, lobby areas are clean, toilets were clean but locked until someone complained.

First I must say 50% of Staff are wonderful. Little English but they tried and was helpful. My first stay was for 3 days, June 21-24. Room (1710) was a smoking room however upon check in it had a fresh aroma and was very clean. Minor shower leak but was fixed immediately. No complaints on first stay. Now the disappointment ; ( I had to stay an additional two nights for visa issues to Vietnam. So I figure no big deal I'll re-book the hotel from the airport. When I returned I was told its was... We booked a tour through China Highlights that included three nights in Shanghai and a Yangtze River Cruise. Our hotel in Shanghai was the Bund Hotel. Itâ??s an impressive building with 31 floors and a large marble atrium. Our corner room was 20 floors up and had an impressive 270-degree view. The room was large, well-decorated and maintained while the bath was medium-sized and was showing some minor signs of age. Knowing the level of accommodation for tours in China, I felt very fortunate t... Read more

We booked this hotel though China Highlights. It is within walking distance of the Bund and many restaurants. It is a large, impressive hotel, and the room was large and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet was lovely, with both Asian and Western choices in an airy second floor area.

Tourist locations can be reach from the hotel in 1-2 subway stops. Mostly guests are travellers so you may see foreigners walk by this area. Twin room looked good but old. We felt strong smell in the room.

We spent two nights at the Bund Hotel in July 2016. They have no connecting Rooms in the hotel so we split our family up. Our rooms were on a curve so it was a little further apart than I expected. But the rooms were huge and it was nice. The rooms were really hot. Like the air con did not help much. We had to close the draps on the windows and close the bathroom door but both rooms were very very hot. Be prepared for that. Located near Shanghai museum we walked there. Not actually ... Read more

It is a 4 star hotel. The room is small but clean, bed is really comfortable, bathroom with separate tub and shower, tv has english channels (like hbo and us series), and breakfast is delicious - with many american-continental choices. It is a good choice for a hotel stay in Shanghai.

The Bund Hotel in Shanghai is conveniently located. It is just 15 minutes walk from the shopping stores on Nanjing Road and around 30 minutes walk from The Bund. Its complimentary buffet breakfast at The Bund Cafe offers a good variety of choices. The cafe staff are efficient and so are the hotel's other staff. There is an automated machine in the hotel for exchanging dollars to yuan.

Every time I visit Shanghai I stay at this hotel. This hotel is in an EXCELLENT location that is within short walking distance to the area known as "The Bund" which is the river walk area where you can see the magnificent city skyline. It is also within short walking distance to the area known as Nanjing Road, which is a pedestrian-only street that has lots of modern-day stores, world brands that are familiar all over the world.
