Overall experience was fine except constantly experiencing wifi outage. Due to this issue which even happened with cable connection, web conference was terminated several times. Appreciate if this could be improved. ??LAN???????????????????議????????中??????? ?????????????便??場?????????????????貰???????????????

Chose an upgrade to a Club room, but disappointed. No soft surfaces in room - bed was very hard, an uncompromising vinyl couch, and air conditioning could not be adjusted. Room in need of a refurb. After 6 nights left hotel with a bad back and a cold. Staff did try to help with an extra layer being added to mattress each day - all beds in the hotel are the same I was told. Only saving grace was the Club lounge which was both comfortable and had good service. Jing'an location great.

Hotel is situated in central Shanghai in the Jing'an district next to the Jing'an temple, Jing'an park and metro station. A good location to explore Shanghai from. The hotel has all the amenities of a five star hotel. Room is of a good size with separate bath and shower, hot drink making facilities, a mini bar, separate seating area and desk area. Bed was super king size. Room was refreshed daily and to a good standard. Staff at the hotel that I encountered were polite and helpful especially the... Read more

A good business hotel in a decent area. Rooms are good but of course as usual in Shanghai not overly spacious. I did not try the restaurant; there are many places to get a meal outside the hotel, for instance in the nearby shopping malls. Pricing is moderate for Shanghai.

Can't really fault the hotel. Nice clean rooms. Quality amenities. The pool & spa are of a high quality also. Nice & close to the Metro with pretty much everything only a couple of stops away. Drinks in the lobby bar are on the expensive side but I guess that's what to expect in a hotel lobby bar. We didn't eat at the restaurant as there were far too many good local options all within walking distance. Its not anywhere near as busy at People's Square or the Bund which was also a relief. Excellent hotel with a very good service, the crew speaks good English and always help you immediately with any question or problem which is very unique in China. The facilities are also superb. This hotel serves Swissair crew and many foreigners in Shanghai. Even though, they don't have a shuttle to Hongqiao airport, only to Pudong one which was quite unfortunate.

I recently stayed in this hotel, who I believe needs some serious upgrade in terms of Wifi, air conditioning. The location is very good, the rooms are nice but noisy, do not take rooms overlooking the general air conditioning system, your nights will be be tough. The problem is that represents vast majority of the rooms. I had to face a wifi challenge, it took them 3 days to fix it and find the solution. I became almost ill due to the air conditioning system who did not work. The staff (concie... Read more

I stayed one night on my business trip to shanghai in this hotel. Very beautiful decorated with friendly staff welcome me. The lobby bar is quite convenient as I discussed my business with my client. Music was soft not disturbing our discussions. Offer variety of drinks. Service was great. Rooms were similar to five star with all the facilities. Hotel is in centre of shanghai. Breakfast was not satisfactory.will prefer to stay in this hotel during my next visit

I was out in Shanghai for a week on business and stayed at the Swissotel Grand. I arrived in Shanghai at 9.25am and had a car from the hotel collect me from the airport to take me to the Hotel. The car service is a lot more expensive than a normal taxi (cost around £60 for a 45 min journey). The car service was just fine with water provided. I checked in at the hotel with no problems. Typically in the UK you can't check in until the afternoon but I checked in at around 11am so could change... Read more

Stayed for 4 nights on business June 2016. Pros; - Excellent service - Comfy bed - Nice bathrooms - Good in room facilities Cons; - Fit and finish of the hotel not quite right for 5 star, a little bit shabby - Little to else to fault really, but missing the special touches expected from a 5 star hotel What I would say is if you can get a good price on the hotel vs. something in the 4 star category then you might well be getting a bargain.

It was my first time staying at the Swissotel and it proved to be a good stay. Located in the area of Jing An and very close to the stunning temple and heaps of excellent shops and restaurants. The Temple by night is a great sight and a 5 min walk from the hotel, as is the shopping and walk slightly further and you are walking down the street of Fumin-Lu where more dining is possible...........a limitless choice of options. I really like the Swissotel Grand Shanghai, it has the best location. Near Nanjing Road, within walking distance to shops restaurants & even a good salon with the quality as good as that of Hong Kong. When I arrive (flight was delayed for 2 hours which is normal in Shanghai since all flights into or going out of Shanghai is delayed either because of air traffic / weather / or military training) so one arrives at the hotel at 10 pm really tired & just want to go to your room & unpack & rest. The rooms are large ad well-designed. They pass my 'reading light test', meaning that there is an effectivereading light which doesn't/wouldn't disturb a companion. However, one of the windows didn't fit so that outside air came through the gap and noise from nearby rooftop aircon units was audible. On the noise question, the music (some sort of new age stuff) in the breakfast room was excessively loud, the staff being unwilling to attempt to have it turned down despite my saying that I would ... Been there for business and was impressed by the quite central location in Jing An, and the rooms were quite nice. Staff nice and helpful. Rooms were nice with plenty of little useful accessories.
