Very nice hotel but very far from the Bund. It costs us $60 round trip in cabs. The breakfast is out of this world. We had lunch and their spaghetti carbonate was among the best I had. Perfect hotel but too far away.

This is a beautiful hotel with extra large rooms and great views. It is far away from any attractions and things to do. In the free trade zone means there is also nothing open outside of regular business hours. Have to walk about 30 minutes to get to any stores or restaurants. There is a restaurant in the hotel but service was very slow and selection of food is low. Took 30 minutes to order a pizza. Tall building with 51 floors and no other tall buildings means you have a great view of the area ... Read more

We were put up in this hotel when our Air Canada Flight back to Vancouver was canceled due to a mechanical problem. It was a terrible experience, and as a result, we probably have an unfairly poor impression of this hotel. We probably experienced it at its worst when an entire planeload of people descended on it all at once late at night. The good news is that as a Starwood member, I was given quick access in the check-in line, which I was grateful for since many of the people in line would be... Read more

This hotel is located in a Free Trade Zone, in the northeast of the city, quite a distance from most of the attractions. The hotel itself is very nice, with an excellent buffet restaurant. Rooms are very nice with a flat screen TV that actually can be reversed electronically so it's viewed in the bathroom. They have large marble bathrooms. The location isn't to much of a hindrance as there is bus service and other public transportation. Taxis to the Bund or to the Old Town, for four people ... Read more

me and my boyfriend stayed here during 27th may - 29 May, hotel gave us club level room, it was a desirable stay :) the room we got was at the corner therefore we got the huge space for ourselves warning : taxi to go to the center of the city (Nanjing Road) cost around 100-148 yuan so be prepare. you can always use Metro but it will be close by the time 22.00-23.00 more or less. 5 mins walking from the hotel , so yes really close. I would say once again that Sheraton gave me a pleasant stay :)... Read more

Contemporary hotel with antique chinese furnitures, very stylish. Comfortable, very modern design that it feels like you're in a newly-built hotel. Near the airport but not walking distance, about 15-20minute bus ride to Shanghai Pudong airport, but I think it's in an industrial zone so this can provide good acommodation for a business trip in the area. We were billeted in this hotel after our flight from Shanghai was cancelled due to bad weather.

My first time to visit and stay at the Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao hotel with my husband. my first impression was hotel reception and main entrance. We like the entrance, lobby and the sitting area; very attractive. Upon arrival Sissi Sun the person who us check-In , was very very friendly, smile and charming . Our room is nice and quite, the bed and pillow are very comfortable. The club lounge we meet beautiful , helpful and friendly staffs Camella, Carry, Betty, Lucy , Rosey, Danny, chef O... Read more

Me and my team has been staying in this Sheraton for three weeks for business training. Overall experience was good. And here are comments to both Hotel and Services: To the Hotel: Most of facilities are new since it's only opened for 4 years. The Beds are big and comfortable. Other in-room equipment are modern and convenient as well. The only problem could be the location of hotel. The hotel is the only 5 Stars international hotel with in the Free trade zone. 30mins away driving from Pudong a... Read more

This hotel is for travellers purely on business in the area. It has nothing else to offer but 2 restaurants (japanese and chinese) and a sizeable bar to cater to your needs. The pool was under renovation and the spa was on holiday, whilst the gym was dingy and quiet. Looking on the bright side, work was fully productive and able to cut work travel short by a day! City centre is about 45mins away in normal traffic. Plus points great beds and pillows, clean bathrooms and a perfect concierge se... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel. The lobby is gorgeous. The rooms were large, comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was enormous, filled with many American, European and Chinese options. We were there as part of Sinorama Holiday tour group and was very pleased with the hotel. It is out of the way but it didn't matter to us since the tour bussed us everywhere.

A 5 stars hotel, and a competitive rate. Rooms are clean, and well designed. The downside is that food is average, and the location is within commercial building so one have to travel some distance for alternative food and amenities

Not only did we benefit from a really, really good price..but this turned out to be an excellent experience. Of course it's far away from the city, this isn't the right hotel to visit shanghai. Rooms look great, are really spacious and pleasant, services generally great (a few minor issues but nothing big), perfectly clean. For such a price, it's incredible that this one actually lives up (it does more than that actually) to the Sheraton standards.

This is a beautiful hotel located in a Pilot Free Trade Zone. The service was fantastic, the room was beautiful, and the food was incredible, but it does not serve as a good launching point for exploring Shanghai as the nearest subway station is a half hour walk away and it is about an hour in a taxi to see any sights. Now if you there on business with one of the numerous banks located in the free trade zone, this hotel is perfect.

The breakfast buffet had more variety than any place we have ever seen. Everything you could possible imagine or want. Not a lot to do around the area of the hotel, but easy to get to and from. Wonderful views if you are up high.

The hotel, the interior of the rooms and the breakfast bar all rate 5 star. However, the location in a "Pilot Free Trade Zone" (What does that mean?) left us remote from the City. When asked about the "free trade zone" it appeared that the hotel was unable to convert money to local currency. The location is rather suspicious. It is in a fenced in area that resembles an area that once was used for factories and slum existence but is now undergoing upgrading for commercial purposes. The window in ... Read more

The fundamentals of a good hotel seems to have been in place, but the maintenance seems to have taken a back seat. The room carpet had patches of discoloration, table tops were stained, bathroom flooring and walls was cracking and stained.

We had an excellent stay at this Sheraton. The rooms were large and our corner window had two different views of the area. The breakfast had many choices. It is in the free trade zone, so is a ways from downtown, but even with some traffic did not take us long. Had an enjoyable stay.

Stayed here for one night. The check in process was very long. The people working behind the desk seemed confused about everything. The rooms are nice and big. The gym and pool are very good, but they open late so if you have jet lag and get up early and want to work out make sure you talk to someone. This gym should be open 24 hours. The lounge also does not open till 7am. We had dinner at the lobby restaurant and it was not very good and has a limited menu.

We were booked into this hotel as part of a tour group. The hotel itself was very nice. Spacious lobby with nice bar. Excellent breakfast buffet in spacious dining room. The rooms were large and comfortable. Bathroom was large and well designed and even has a TV in the mirror. We were on a lower floor and the view from our room was mediocre - mostly roofs and parking lot. A subway station is located about a 10 min. easy walk from the hotel. This hotel has good breakfast and lunch buffet. The room is spacious and bed is comfortable, only it is too far to the CBD. However it does have a subway line nearby. I would recommend Mr Yin, the concierge manager. He is patient and very helpful. You should definitely go to him to ask for trip advices and how to go around shanghai, but don't book any trips via the hotel. I suggest the hotel to exam its associated tour companies and find out a good deal for the tourists. Overall, 4 stars to t... Read more

There is basically nothing around except for a convenient store within walking distance (and a Starbucks). The place is too far out of the city unless you have business around there. The room is nice with standard Sheraton feel. Toilet is spacious but the Aircon is a little weird being too cold most of the time. Although in the free trade zone, internet is still restricted by the 'Great firewall of China'.

I stayed there two nights and it was a wonderful hotel. But what made it even more amazing was Oliver Yin. He works at the front desk, as a concierge, and even helped us get a taxi one morning. Then that night when we came back and didn't have exact change for the driver he got it for us fast and efficiently. The hotel is one hour out of Shanghai but I had to give a shout out to Mr. Yin.
