This hotel has been around the block. The rooms are clean but dated. The bathroom has the 60`s look, but clean. You cannot open the window and the staff always have a electric fan waiting for me. The area is full of restaurants but traffic in area is incredible . Very dense and populated. The buss ride from the airport is either 50 minutes or 75 minutes, it all depends on traffic. The staff is excellent but the check out line is very slow ,up to 20 minutes at times. But the concierge service is v... Read more

Hotel is a bit dated, it's pretty close to Hongqiao airport. The room is clean but small, I think this hotel is due for some renovation soon. It's an acceptable hotel for business trip, given its convenient location to airport and train station.

I took off a star because at check in I was advised that the non smoking room that I had booked was not available. They offered an "upgraded" room on a smoking floor. I said that I was concerned about smoke coming through the vents, but was assured that this room was thoroughly clean and filtered. I was tired and just took her word for it. Bad idea. I walk in and it had an odor, not smoke, but just a funk. Went to sleep and 4 hours later woke up with a super sore throat and was coughing. ... Read more

This is a very nice Sheraton property located in the Hongqiao area of Shanghai. The rooms were very clean and the staff had a good working knowledge of English. I was able to take advantage of their currency exchange services that were very reasonable. The rooms were very comfortable and had great views on both sides. The breakfast buffet was very delicious and had a good selection of Western and local foods. Likewise the bar had an excellent selection of whiskies from around the world. Ther... Read more

Had a terrific lunch with colleague today at the Emerald Garden Chinese Restaurant in this hotel. Really nice food, and such attentive service from Charlton. Overall very impressed with the whole dining experience. After spent some time to look around the hotel. Very classic and "olde worlde" in style and features. I will be sure to try a stay here next business trip.

The Sheraton Taipingyang Hongqiao Hotel is one of the first international hotels in Shanghai located in Hongqiao area in Puxi close to the main Yanan elevated street close to Hongqiao Airport and Train Station. Although the hotel has been renovated, it remains unqualified for international travellers mainly due to lack of language skills and training of the staff. The gym is equipped with old and not state of the art fitness stations, on top it s crowded with small kids playing and running makin... Read more

Nice room, it was very clean and fresh! the view was nice too! But no free wifi on the room, that's not a good visit card nowadays! The conciers was very helpful and sympathetic all the time. They were always ready to help , with a good level of English which made it easier and consequently the stay more enjoyable.

The hotel room has decoration with Chinese style, but the furniture and carpet look old. The hotel has a great grand lobby. The fitness room is good and there is an indoor pool with decent size and sky dome. The breakfast buffet is terrific with tremendous food choices.

Excellent hotel located in the centre of great shopping malls, restaurants & bars in Puxi, Shanghai. Just 20-30 mins drive from Hongqiao airport. Great service, friendly staff and nice rooms. Though the rooms are a bit old but still fine! The hotel has great breakfast and couple of restaurants both western and Chinese. It has a great bar also. Though the laundry service could be better.

While the Sheraton branded hotels can appear to be slightly dated, this one is quite comfortable and you get the feeling you are in a luxury hotel. The taxi card to take with you to know how much and how far things are from the hotel are a really good idea. Take one and circle where you are going and give to your taxi driver if you only speak english. Makes life easy. Central location, sleep quality was great, no problem at all. The service could have been better for a 5 star hotel

This hotel needs a new manager quickly - poor and uninterested concierge. No offer to take cases to room on check in! Is this really a Sheraton Hotel? - send staff to Hong Kong Sheraton for a week to see how it's done. Tired and in need of updated decor and rooms. Pay for wifi in room, come on Sheraton this is 2016. Swimming pool closed when we were there, (4-8 June) no offer of alternative. Will not return.

My Starwood preferred king bedroom is relatively spacious and tastefully appointed. The master light controls are a bit hard to navigate through jet lag, but something like this is found in most Asian hotels nowadays. I like the transparent glass bowl sink in the bathroom; I can see quickly if anything is dirty and it's easier to keep track of my toiletries as I place them around the sink. Also nice is the creative but funtional glass shelving unit next to it; versatile and can suit everyone tal... Read more

The rooms here are a bit dated, but overall, I thought this hotel was stellar. Friendly, helpful service; across the street from a nice shopping center--a few actually, including one full of luxury brands if that is your thing; and near a beautiful park. Great place for biz travelers or those who have hotel points to burn!

Have stayed here a few times now, mainly due to proximity to my office. Typical business hotel, rooms are ok...nothing extragavant. The italian restaurant on the top is good, and a great lobby bar with luxirous sofas and live band in the evening. What peeved me was the long queue for check in with just one front-office staff. Not a good start after a 10 hr flight.

Stayed here on business recently. The company i work for uses this hotel a lot at the moment. Usually a good experience but not this time. Gave me a room card that didn't work in the lift. So meeting colleagues was a pain but the front desk sorted this out for me. Only then to find out the card then didn't work in my room. Going up to the top floor where you check in to get this sorted out, seemed to be fine until yet again I get to my room and it still doesn't work. I'd been travelling sin... Read more

I recently stayed at this hotel again and my room was much nicer this time. Still homey furniture but the room felt cozy and home-like. I had a suite on the 25th floor and it was very nice. 1.5 bathrooms, two rooms, comfy furniture, pergo floors with Asian rugs. Took me a while to figure of the lights. The executive club was very nice for breakfast. Such a departure from the hustle and bustle of the breakfast room downstairs. I enjoyed my stay here. Even used the pool - which should be larger. O... This was a nice hotel and good location. The rooms were large. There were 2 double beds pushed together which was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and very functional. I had 2 issues - the first is I was on a non-smoking floor. However, the hallways always smelled of smoke - really need to enforce no smoking on those floors and the second was check out, which was very slow. If you like old wood furniture and mismatched sofas and rugs, this place is for you. Some hotel slum lord is operating this hotel and has only thought of renovating the common areas for the last 20 years. The guest rooms are in a time warp! Not a clean feeling. The hotel is dated with regards to furnishings as some have noted, but you don't stay at this hotel for the modern facilities. It is well appointed. The rooms are clean and the beds are clean and comfortable, which to me is the most important point when traveling.
