This hotel has been around the block. The rooms are clean but dated. The bathroom has the 60`s look, but clean. You cannot open the window and the staff always have a electric fan waiting for me. The area is full of restaurants but traffic in area is incredible . Very dense and populated. The buss ride from the airport is either 50 minutes or 75 minutes, it all depends on traffic. The staff is excellent but the check out line is very slow ,up to 20 minutes at times. Hotel is a bit dated, it's pretty close to Hongqiao airport. The room is clean but small, I think this hotel is due for some renovation soon. It's an acceptable hotel for business trip, given its convenient location to airport and train station.

I took off a star because at check in I was advised that the non smoking room that I had booked was not available. They offered an "upgraded" room on a smoking floor. I said that I was concerned about smoke coming through the vents, but was assured that this room was thoroughly clean and filtered. I was tired and just took her word for it. Bad idea. I walk in and it had an odor, not smoke, but just a funk. Went to sleep and 4 hours later woke up with a super sore throat and was coughing. ... Read more

This is a very nice Sheraton property located in the Hongqiao area of Shanghai. The rooms were very clean and the staff had a good working knowledge of English. I was able to take advantage of their currency exchange services that were very reasonable. The rooms were very comfortable and had great views on both sides. The breakfast buffet was very delicious and had a good selection of Western and local foods. Likewise the bar had an excellent selection of whiskies from around the world. Ther... Read more

Had a terrific lunch with colleague today at the Emerald Garden Chinese Restaurant in this hotel. Really nice food, and such attentive service from Charlton. Overall very impressed with the whole dining experience. After spent some time to look around the hotel. Very classic and "olde worlde" in style and features. I will be sure to try a stay here next business trip.

The Sheraton Taipingyang Hongqiao Hotel is one of the first international hotels in Shanghai located in Hongqiao area in Puxi close to the main Yanan elevated street close to Hongqiao Airport and Train Station. Nice room, it was very clean and fresh! the view was nice too! But no free wifi on the room, that's not a good visit card nowadays! The conciers was very helpful and sympathetic all the time. They were always ready to help , with a good level of English which made it easier and consequently the stay more enjoyable.

Excellent hotel located in the centre of great shopping malls, restaurants & bars in Puxi, Shanghai. Just 20-30 mins drive from Hongqiao airport. Great service, friendly staff and nice rooms. Though the rooms are a bit old but still fine! The hotel has great breakfast and couple of restaurants both western and Chinese. It has a great bar also. Though the laundry service could be better.

While the Sheraton branded hotels can appear to be slightly dated, this one is quite comfortable and you get the feeling you are in a luxury hotel. The taxi card to take with you to know how much and how far things are from the hotel are a really good idea. Take one and circle where you are going and give to your taxi driver if you only speak english. Makes life easy. Central location, sleep quality was great, no problem at all. The service could have been better for a 5 star hotel

This hotel needs a new manager quickly - poor and uninterested concierge. No offer to take cases to room on check in! Is this really a Sheraton Hotel? - send staff to Hong Kong Sheraton for a week to see how it's done. Tired and in need of updated decor and rooms. Pay for wifi in room, come on Sheraton this is 2016. My Starwood preferred king bedroom is relatively spacious and tastefully appointed. The master light controls are a bit hard to navigate through jet lag, but something like this is found in most Asian hotels nowadays. I like the transparent glass bowl sink in the bathroom; I can see quickly if anything is dirty and it's easier to keep track of my toiletries as I place them around the sink. Also nice is the creative but funtional glass shelving unit next to it; versatile and can suit everyone tal... Read more

Have stayed here a few times now, mainly due to proximity to my office. Typical business hotel, rooms are ok...nothing extragavant. The italian restaurant on the top is good, and a great lobby bar with luxirous sofas and live band in the evening. What peeved me was the long queue for check in with just one front-office staff. I'm giving this a 3 based on my general expectations for a Sheraton as an SPG member. I recognize that of allll the places one can stay in Shanghai this probably deserves higher than a 3. Good hotel but it could need some refurbishment as the bathroom is not very up to date anymore and in general the hotel breathes "old times". Rooms are ok with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is good. Reception staff asked for my passport on leaving the hotel: very unusual and as I was arranging for a taxi, they forgot to give the passport back to me, so once I was on the road for the airport, I had to return back to the hotel to pick up the passport. Clearly the staff is not well trained. On ... Read more

The hotel was centrally located to the venue of business. The staff I met was friendly and professional. I asked her if the hotel would put in my Marriott Rewards membership number, but she refused to do it but didn't/couldn't quite explain to me why (I later found out that... Read more

I have had my ups and downs with this hotel in my close to 20 years staying here. On this trip most of my annoyances with this hotel came to the forefront. To begin with the check in process here is the poorest of all SPG properties I stay at in China. The sad part is this is an issue that goes back 20 years and no matter how many complaints received nothing ever changes. As long as they stay busy they could care less on this issue. Staff turnover is extremely high and training is poor to non ex... Read more
