I have strayed in this hotel for the first time during my last visit to Shanghai. Although my stay was not long - only two days, it was very pleasant, I should say. All my requests concerning the room, such as high floor, non-smoking room were met by the staff. The breakfast in the restaurant on the second floor was very good and the selection of dishes they offer was quite wide. The location is perfect. The area is peaceful and quite, so you do not fee the pressure of the crowed center. The hot... Read more

The hotel has good room facilities, neat housekeeping, a friendly frontdesk and an amicable restaurant captain at the Blue Moon by the name of Andy. The development areas are (a) the bellhops; they should help to call cabs for guests (b) wifi; almost non existent. There is a mall behind with a carrefour convenience store and a Nike factory outlet. Nearby the hotel is a mall called Sun Moon Light (?????中?广?); cab fare at about RMB15. Visit a hip alley called ???? just beside the ... Read more

Lovely hotel , staff so friendly , would advise paying a bit more for the executive floor , Tracy and her lounge staff are so attentive. Corner room with a great view of the river and bridge , all lights up a night , but turn off by midnight. Pool and Gym very good , and a happy chambermaid. Pay no more than 300 RMB for a cab from the airport, all local my local trips ( 30mins) cost no more than 40 RMB. Would definitely stay again

It was nearly 1 year ago I stayed here was surprise the team in the executive lounge still recognized me. Immediately I felt welcomed. Rooms are nice and cosy, Service staff are great. 2 Issues to note. 1. location is not great (transportation) can be hard to get 2. they didnt have the compressor on so the air in the room was piped in from outside so at 26-28 degrees it was hard to sleep and it got stuffy at night.

Was here for several days with meetings in the hotel and everything went well; no exceptions. Only points for minor improvement: 4 people in reception and 3 on the phone; bit of a wait to check out. Only one coffee machine for breaks; made a long line. But the person running it was very polite and the coffee was good.

I stayed there for 11 nights in May/June 2016. As one who didn't speak any Chinese, I really appreciated their willingness to help & to communicate. Everyone would try, and they always had someone in the lobby who could speak English well. They also have an executive lounge, to which I got access with my room. It was worth it. The complimentary items included the following: + Breakfast buffet (mornings) with a wide selection of Eastern & Western foods, including made to order eggs + Beverages (... Read more

Restaurant serves good Japanese food. It would have gotten rating of 4 if not for the way it levels hidden charges. The all-you-can buffet is good value if you have a RMB100 discount voucher as it brings the price of RMB238 to RMB138. That was what I thought I got except that when I saw the bill - they slapped a 10 percent service charge if you use this discount voucher. My dining partner who paid full price did not have this 'service charge'. I thought it was unethical to level a charge when ... Read more

Stayed here several times - was known as the Marriott Luwan until change of name to Riverside - and this has probably the nicest Exec Lounge I've found so far in Tokyo, Shanghai or Seoul - big floor to ceiling glass gives dramatic view of the Hunagpu river - hypnotic to watch all the shipping. Great food and drink. Rooms are large, nice bathrooms, great gym (best also that I've found in Marriotts or Courtyards in China/Japan/Korea so far) - staff are great, lounge and bar on ground floor large ... Read more

This surprisingly busy hotel faces the quiet side of the river a few km south of Puxi downtown. Yes, its walkable to downtown - and mostly thru the French concession area - but make sure u have a map - and that its not mid summer. If u want a walk, there is a great walk along the river - two actually: the short one and the long one - and in the evenings its a great place to see people out doing their thing (jogging, kites, music, climbing, dancing) and enjoying the cool breezes the rooms r goo... We stayed in Shanghai Marriott Hotel Riverside for three nights. My feeling toward this hotel is complicated. On one hand, I appreciate the river view outside the window, the service we got (very good service in the lounge, and well organized buffet breakfast at the second floor), the spacious room, and the fast elevators; on the other, I have to say I hate some defective room designs, e.g. the bedside lamps (we bumped our heads into them many times), the towel hanger in front of the sink (the t... Fabulous corner room overlooking the city, including Shanghai Financial Center, World Financial Center and Jin Mao on one side, the China Pavilion on the other from 2010 World Expo. Staff of Executive Lounge is the best! Each member of team goes out of their way to provide friendly and professional service, at all hours of the day. I've stayed at this hotel many times on business. The service is always excellent, fast polite and efficient. Rooms are very good, well furnished & equipped, light & airy. The only thing I can't really recommend is the buffet dinner. It always seems to have sat out waiting just that bit too long and is not very appetising.

I booked a twin bedroom, but when I checked in, no more twin room available. Eventually they upgrade my room and add a foldable bed in the room. Somehow has to accept it without any choices. Fridge is locked (duno why) even I paid deposit. Good: Bathroom is clean and big. Has a little duck in the bath tube which you can take away for free. Room is big too. Just a standard 4-5 stars hotel. Bad: not close to subway station, will need to take a taxi if wanna go out. But next block has a ... Read more

Chloe, the front desk manager, was a model of professional service. She quickly helped resolve a booking problem when I first arrived, and she and her colleague Demi gave me good advice and directions about restaurants, Shanghai night life, taxis, etc. Chloe also helped me resolve a billing question after I had returned to the US by promptly responding to my email. The hotel itself is also in a good location with a nice view of the Huangpu river, away from the busier tourist areas. Room was clea... Read more

I stayed in this hotel 4 nights in hotel and I recommend it. The room was very good and big with all the necessary facilities, the internet connection is fast and room service efficient. The hotel location is not the best for who is visit Shanghai for leisure, but is not so far from the city center and less noised. The lounge in the last floor is very good, great breakfast and good drinks on the end of the day. I didn´t used any other facility, but as business hotel definitely I recommend

Thus, out of goodwill upgrade me to Presidential Suite for a night and the next day i will have to move to deluxe room. This is a typical Marriott, nice gym, nice indoor pool, good breakfast, big comfy room. WiFi was fast, not sure if it's free; breakfast was quite nice; it's in a quiet neighbourhood, there're a few restaurants, a Costa coffee, a bar, and a small Carrefour near by.
