Very comfortable hotel. Food has been lovely vast variety at reasonable prices. Staff very helpful. Although this is a hotel near the airport there is a metro 15 minutes walk (cheap taxis) it gives you an opportunity to learn the culture and rural living which allows you to respect people's lives and values. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the stay.

Great hotel , 20 mins from Pudong airport for a rest between flights . Great staff , free airport shuttle but book in advance , I forgot my laptop charger and the concierge went and bought one for me within 30 mins of me asking if he could help. Great rooms and very comfortable and good value . Will definitely use again

The staff was helpful, and the room was Amazing, I had a Executive King room and it was VERY comfortable. It was a bit of a walk to the Metro, but easily doable. The surrounding neighborhood was a bit distasteful.

Hotel is very nice and so is staff. We bery accommodating and extended or check out time so we could be in the room until our next flight. Bathrooms are particularly nice. Restaurant Was spendy but good food. The free shuttle from the airport was very handy and worked perfectly. Was a nice way to ease into our long Asian vacation.

I chose this hotel for one night because it is extremely close to Pudong airport. The room was fantastic, and the breakfast was great, although a bit expensive for what it was. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because, despite giving my credit card info before arriving, I was still required to use a machine and put a pin in. I misunderstood the instructions, as the machine was in Mandarin, and locked me out of my card. The hotel does not have an ATM on the property. So, thankfully my V... Read more

I needed a hotel close to Pudong for the evening, as I has an early morning flight out. The choices were limited, it was either <250RMB or more than 700RMB. The reviews for everything low price were terrible, so higher price we went. 718RMB for the night. No idea as to the quality of the food, as I did not eat there. Pro's: Nicest hotel I have stayed in while traveling through Shanghai. The rooms were well looked after, comfortable, well equipped, efficient airport shuttle at 6:00am, no cigaret... Read more

I stayed here for an early flight home. The reception is beautiful and the check in was fast and very friendly. Remember to book your shuttle bus to the airport when you check in and also If you need a shuttle bus from the airport to make a reservation for the shuttle bus 1 day before you arrive. The room is very spacious. The bed is the most comfortable in all of China as well as the pillows. The room and bathroom are spotless and very clean. There are a safe, mini bar... The bathroom... The hotel is somewhat of a time warp back to 1980's Las Vegas. Neon lights, turn around driveway and water features. Alas, no casino inside. The rooms are surprisingly above average. My biggest complaint was room "service". After a very long road trip and a harrowing subway ride I was exhausted when I arrived. When I called room service for a bite to eat I was told to call back later, they were too busy. Seriously, that's what they said. Now that was a first. The saving grace of this hotel is it... I stayed here on a 24 hour layover through Shanghai and it was everything I needed to power up for my second flight. If you are a non-smoker ask for the 8th or 11th floor as those are non-smoking. My favorite thing was the bathtub, I took two baths in the time I was there. The AC worked well and the room was quiet, making for good sleep. The gym was bare bones, but did the trick for a morning work out. The free hotel shuttle was easy for getting back to the airport, but make sure that you book i... Read more

Had a one day stay at Royal International Shanghai. The hotel is very decent and offers comfort. Some problems faced - 1) lack of vegan food choices in menu / restaurants 2) lack of english speaking personnel 3) location was in a residential area having no other options like food court ,malls nearby 4) since i curtailed my visit from 3 to 1 day due to these issues i had to pay 60 yuan extra ;(((((

I stayed here because my flight was arriving late and I didn't want to travel too far. I was headed to Disney and wanted to be close to there for the morning. This hotel worked fine, though it's not surrounded by much. It looks like it was a nice 5 star hotel in it's day but is showing its age in the exterior and grounds. Room was comfortable and price was right. Taxis found it easily. There isn't really anything in walking distance, but it was about 10-15 min to Disneyland and 15 minutes to the... Read more

I booked this place since my flight from Hongkong arrived around midnight. It's actually not that close from Pudong airport, and it's quite a remote location away from traffic and other activities. Anyway, the rooms are clean, big and comfortable. Staff was courteous.

I used this hotel for an overnight between flights. It takes about 20 to 25 minutes from the airport. That worse thing is the taxi drivers don't know where it is. Once we arrived it was a nice clean hotel with modern amenities . They do have a hotel shuttle but it was unclear where they pickup and if you have an early flight the shuttle won't help as the first one leaving from the hotel is 6am.

The hotel is very nice: rooms are large and luxury. I could not try breakfast as we left very early in the morning, but we did try the Chinese restaurant. Excellent Chinese meal with very reasonable price in spite the very elegant setting! Staff very helpful and English speaking. Price very reasonable for shangai standards.

Stayed one night before going to another city flying out of Pudong. I have transportation so i did not reserve the airport shuttle. The area is pretty safe if you like to go out to Chinese restaurants a block away, left and right of the hotel. There are also McDonald, Burger King and pizza place. Room is clean WiFi was slow, but OK for email. I used the Howard Johnson sites and there is no P/W. Free breakfast was fine.

Room was very large, very good air conditioning and excellent bathroom. Booked an executive room and when going to lounge there was a sign that person was away for a few minutes. Went back later and still sign was up. Called front desk and they mentioned lounge is only open from 2 pm - 4 pm (?). They offered a drink coupon to be used in lobby lounge, but coupon was only for a soft drink, not good for a beer. Requested shuttle bus for 5:30 am but bus only starts at 6 am, flight was at 9 am, fro... Read more

Book the courtesy shuttle bus as the hotel is about 30 mins from the airport. When going to airport make sure you leave with plenty of time as check-in/security at Pu Dong is s-l-o-w! Not the hotel's fault and staff advised that an earlier shuttle bus rather than a later one would be sensible. Room was big but trendily gloomy to the extent that the numbers on the combination locks of the cases couldn't be read without the (provided) rechargeable flashlight. Bed good but sleep not easily come ... Read more

This hotel is situated in the Chuansha district of Shanghai. If you have an early morning flight out of Shanghai PuDong (or expecting to arrive very late at night). This hotel has all the modern amenities you would expect. The rooms are comfortable and staff are helpful. I would definitely recommend it for a short stopover before or after a flight. Chuansha is still being developed, so can feel a bit isolated from the usual buzz of Shanghai. A new shopping mall is being constructed (which can b... Read more

This is an amazing hotel for a stopover near the airport. The shuttle service runs frequently, the stuff speaks English and is very accommodating. Their rooms are quiet and the beds are very comfortable. The only drawback was that it's a bit way out from the city to go out to eat somewhere and the options for eating that they have are not impressive. I mean, you won't be hungry, there is always something and it's ok but still...

We had a flight out of Pudong so I booked this hotel based off fact that it was close and provided 24-hour airport shuttle, at least that's what Expedia told us. When we arrived we found out that the shuttle WAS NOT 24-hours service but started at 6:00 AM. This did not affect our flight out but it would have been nice to have accurate information. Also our room was on the 11th floor that was non-smoking but the entire room smelled like smoke due to the floors below us were all smoking. We left f... Read more

Only 50 RMB taxi ride from the airport. Great location for our first night when we just wanted a nearby hotel to crash and sleep. We had a couple of drinks at the Lobby Bar, service was excellent but selection of food and drink was pretty limited. Breakfast was included with our rate and it was a fantastic buffet with something for everyone. The only reason I can't give it a higher review is that the air conditioning wasn't working in our room and it was uncomfortably hot. Considering a good nig... Read more

I stayed over night to connect flights at PVG. I thought at first about convenience and considered staying at the Ramada. But it seemed overpriced and run down. So I looked a bit further and found the Royal international. I took my chances and I'm very happy about the choice. The hotel lobby is a bit gradiose. The service is impecable. All staff puts enormous effort in being helpful. The only con is the infrequency of the shuttle to teh airport. That is more cumbersome getting to the hotel, but ... Read more
