Good location and very nice staff. Modern and grand lobby with welcoming feeling. Top floor Excecutive lounge is a cozy hangout with good choice of refreshments and food and worth to visit. Stepping into the room, however was a downer. It is very outdated and does not match with the luxurious atmosphere of the hotel. Bathroom is small with less then 1 spare meter in free floor space. To shower in the small bathtub is unpleasant as the shower head did not reach above my breast. Also very unsafe t... Read more

Very good hotel... I have been in this Hotel during a business travel. Staffs were very friendly and I had all support when I needed. Laundry, breakfast and dinning services very good as well. Swimming pool and gym good as well. I didnĀ“t had any issues during my stay. I would recommend this hotel in Shanghai.

Room slightly small and dark. Old styles of furniture. Lights with independent switch. You have to go to each light to turn on/off. No main switch to control. Ok to stay if you just need a room to sleep. Little bit far from subway station. Payment by credit card only in RMB. Breakfast...standard choices. Some days, will be crowded with tourists that comes in the group. Long queue to get a plate of omelette. If you're rushing, just forget it.

My husband and I stayed here on the last leg of an organised tour of China. One niggle but I liked this hotel and would stay here again. The room was great, average size and comfortable bed with spotless linen. Immediate outlook was rooftop but in the near distance was the highway (overpass?) and it and the high rise buildings beyond lit up at night with a wonderful, free light show. Restaurant-excellent buffet, great quality and value @ 228 RMB. They also do a la caret & lunch menu. Breakfast... Read more

Location is great, walking distance to a really nice shopping mall that offers everything from local food, clothing stores, supermarkets and restaurants. The train station for the number 10 line is nearby. The hotel lobby is nice and spacious, but the rooms are average in size and the decor a little outdated. A bit noisy as you can hear the noise from the rooms nearby. The upper floors offer a nice view of parts of the city and the TV includes several movie channels, as the wifi, like in most pa... The hotel is located conveniently near shopping and restaurants. The staff is attentive however the rooms are my main issue. There is an obvious issue with the heating and cooling. Either it is freezing or it's too hot. In addition the refrigerators are not cold. I usually have to bring my own food as I've been sick twice in Shanghai so a "hot refrigerator" does not work for me. Internet access is shotty and forget about using a VPN. Where as the Marriott had little issue with using a V... Read more

So firstly there are many cultural differences between east and west and I do have to take this into consideration. I was met at the door on arrival by an ex police man (a bit of a guess) who was somewhat rude and wanted to know if I was a guest. "Not yet that's why I have these bags with me". Check in staff were also very short and somewhat rude, on asking where the lifts were I was told "We only have elevators over there" - on walking across a very nice lobby area and through a Cafe i was fina... You simply cannot go wrong when staying at this hotel. The staff are courteous, efficient and wonderfully friendly. The accommodations are top notch and everything is just as you would expect for a Five Star hotel! Safe and squeaky clean!! I will be coming back for sure!

I've spent about 5 or 6 nights at this property, all one night stays. My reason for selecting the spot is its convenient access to Shanghai Honggiao transport center -- airport and railway station. About 25 rmb taxi fare, and 10 - 15 minutes ride. As always, Marriott staff are well trained and eager to please. Whether at the front desk, the restaurants, or room help, all are very gracious and helpful. Property appears to be relatively old in style but in good repair/ clean and bright con... Read more

Stayed here in Sept. 2014 during the OI China event. Staff were helpful, and the rooms were nice. It was brilliantly located near to the exhibition centre (about a 5 - 10 minute walk away) and would go back if I were ever in the area again

I stayed in this hotel as it is selected by my company. Check in and Check out was perfect , corteous and with good english speaking staff. Breakfast at lobby level is good too , with excellent fresh juice corner, staff is attentive. I add breakfast at 33 F lounge, but found the place outdated. Room deco is basic , and need to refresh to be more design, but well maintened and clean. Bathroom with bath tube with curtain...no walk in shower, as i prefer. Iā??ve now stayed at this hotel for 5 weeks in 2 visits and will be returning later this month for another 2 weeks. The Hotel is located within walking distance to my office which makes it a very attractive option. The surrounding area is nice with lots of shopping and restaurants and with the exception of the occasional proposition on the street, seems to be safe. I can truly recommend this hotel for any stay in the Shanghai especially Pudong area. Since I have been there for business purposes I had the focus on arriving late (after 7 p.m. ) which didn't cause any trouble at all. In Germany there usually is the rule that you need to call if you arrive after 6pm. The breakfast has a wide range from Western style to Chinese or Japanese. This reflects the range of guests mainly business people but tourists as well including families. The opening hours for t... Read more

Really nice hotel, very clean and very well staffed, most of whom spoke English. The restaurant was really good with lots of choice and quite good value compared to other hotels that we stayed in China. However drinks (as in these other hotels) was quite expensive. The hotel itself is only a short walk from shopping malls and across the main road from a nice park. The Shanghai Metro is very close also. The hotel is some way however from the city centre but close enough to visit by Taxi. There a... Read more

I travelled here on a mid-way stop to another cite in China. This hotel was excellent for the relaxation needed after the flight from the U.S. The room was ready, the bed was comfortable, and the wifi worked first time. Breakfast was pleasant and had everything I could ask for. It was similar to those at hotels throughout Asia and could be a good example for some U.S. hotels. Overall staff was great, room was nice and clean, and the set up of the room was just fine for the businessman.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel with a large group, which seems like what this hotel caters to. Our room was nicely sized, and clean; the beds were acceptably comfortable for American travelers and the room included an iron and a safe. Hot water plentiful and pressure/shower good. Adequate closet space & hangers. Breakfast buffet had many choices for all tastes, including both American and Asian options (or both!) and a good coffee machine. Stayed for a layover during the flight cancellation due to the terrible weather in a recent biz trip in Shanghai . The hotel is quite close to Hongqiao airport. It's dated from the decoration and the carpet, but properly maintained, at least from the look of the lobby, fitness and the lounge. The lounge had a lot to offer during the happy hour, which turned out to be a great deal for me as the close of the busy week. My friend and I spent most of the time there. One thing that the hotel mana... Read more

Centrally located to all I have to do in Shanghai. This is my fourth stay at this property in the last two years and the service and hotel quality stay very level, in a good way. Always a prompt and polite greeting, walking distance to shopping and services, clean and comfortable. Check out the Love Notes in the lounge. They were very entertaining. Walk to Starbucks for coffee. It's a short walk and good for you, and the coffee is better and less than half the price. Same for breakfast. T... Read more

I stayed in this hotel around 3rd week of July. Having stayed earlier in Renaissance Pudong, my hopes were high, but alas my experience was otherwise. The hotel appears old, the finishings are dated, the rooms have a weary look, and the staff canā??t care less. Even though if you reserve a King size bed, donā??t get surprised if you get pushed in a twin bed room. The rooms are dull, but well equipped with all the 5 star amenities with a working desk, mini bar, coffee maker etc. Bath rooms are ti... Read more

Its a well managed hotel and all services you may need are nearby (i.e. major banks, shopping centers, selection of good local restaurants are right across the street (try the Chinese grill restaurant at Jiadun Plaza), the center park is in walking distance which is very save for jogging and the close by metro line connects you fast to other parts of the city. The location and room are very good but what really sets this experience apart was the great lounge on the 33rd floor for the Gold and above members. We went to the club lounge where we had checked in and explained the problem and we asked if we could just cancel our reservation. We were afraid that if we got another room it would also smell musty because it smelled like there was mold somewhere. Without questioning us, the lounge staff gentleman cancelled our reservation and we appreciated it very much. We relocated to the Renaissance Puoto and were so happy we did. In my... Read more

For an international brand/franchise, I had a certain expectation of this hotel chain. Like its cousin in Malaysia, I found this hotel to be disappointing. Upon entering my room, I felt depression come over me. The room looked bare and dingy. The carpet looked like it could use a good scrub, or, better yet, completely replaced.
