My friend was sent to Shanghai for 2 weeks for business and invited me along. His company put him up at the Regal Jeng Feng as it was close to his workplace. It's a nice 3 star hotel in growing business/residential area called New Pudong. We had a room with 2 twin beds. Room was clean and well equipped. The beds were about a foot away from each other and we both snore, so we kept waking each other up. Ha ha. Turning on the "do not disturb" sign brought s knock at 9am from Housekeeping. Managem... Regal Jinfeng is a very average and adequate business hotel in Pudong Industrial area. For biz travelers who are in Pudong for visit in the factory/industrial area, the location is pretty good. However, if you are looking for a hotel with good proximity to the Bund, the hotel is too far away by cab or any close by subway station. As I'm fluent in Mandarin, I did not face much problem with the communication. However, it does prove to be more challenging for many of my colleagues who are non-Mand... Read more

Truly awful hotel...almost no staff spoke any English, restaurant staff were rude, breakfast food was inedible, rooms were dark, bathroom mouldy, air conditioning broken...and I could go on...avoid this place! There is a Starbucks nearby which is the only saving I could find...otherwise walk about 5km to the nearby Marriott and never come back

I checked all the reviews about the Regal Jinfeng hotel before my visit. Some people complained about a poor breakfast. Being a picky eater, that thing worried me the most. As I was scared I would be hungry and could not find a place to eat near-by (also from the reviews). However, when I came to the hotel breakfast, it was much better than I expected. The hotel had a variety of food to choose of for breakfast - Chinese and Western style, eggs, vegetables, toasts, noodles, rice, sausages, ham, p... Read more

The newly renovated rooms on the lower levels are up to any 4/5 stare standard. The breakfasts are okay and typically what you would expect in a reasonable hotel in China. I think it lacks a degree of service. Staff are polite but lack an understanding of the difference between spontaneous service and following the text book. They just don't get it. Overall I would be happy to stay again.

Stay here for 1 night while visiting Shanghai with a tour group. Room was big and clean. Breakfast was decent, WiFi works fine. There are fast food place and super market for grocery. Staff hardly speak English.
