Pros:Free wifi in room, affordable price Cons:old building, no breakfast/paid breakfast(not really sure) Actually there is a lot of long term stay residence here in the hotel. The nearest Metro is approx 10 mins walk. I stayed in a room with my family. There is 3 of us. I got two bed room and a toilet, which in that location isn't too bad. Staff are surprisingly quite helpful.

We stayed at Rayfont Celebrity with our three children aged 10, 7 and 5 during a four day stay in Shanghai. The outside of the hotel itself is not that flash but the apartment that we stayed in was clean and tidy and very large. There were two balconies - one that branched off the lounge area which had a glass panel missing so we did not even go outside. And the other was from the kitchen area. The kitchen was great and had a fridge but unfortunately there were no utensils or cooking pots and pa... Read more

Pros: clean room, secure, quiet shower awesome. Has a TV with a couple of English channels including the news so you don't feel totally isolated in a city where hardly anyone speaks English (even at tourist info!) Cons: very little space, this would drive you mad if staying more than 3 nights. only 2 power points in room and taken up by the TV and kettle (jug). Staff at hotel have v limited English and not able to answer any queries. Lift (elevator) is up a set of stairs from reception and staff... Read more

Hotel is in an excellent location in the Xujiahui district. There's a bus stop right infront of the hotel.. Bus 205 takes you straight to the shopping malls of Xujiahui, including Metro IT City, all for a busfare of RMB2. It is also within walking distance to Taikang Lu/ TianTzeFang. For those who are more adventurous you can explore the surrounding. A short walk into ChaLing Lu and you will find a small park where people do their morning exercises, a local wet market and lots of small local eat... Read more

In terms of location and convenience, this place isn't for foreigners who are visiting Shanghai for leisure, especially if you do not speak chinese. There isn't any visible eatery within walking distance in sight, no clear signage to the nearest train station which is supposed to be 7 minutes away. Nothing much to see as it is in a residence area with a mall of textile retailers. Cannot complain much for the kind of price I pay for the room, at least it is relatively clean (I have above average ... Read more

This place is good budget value. Rooms are clean & comfy with city views. Don't expect the ritz, but at the bargain rate they offer, it's a worthwhile stay if you're just passing through. 15min cab ride from the shopping districts and old French quarter.

Most famous for their little lobsters, most restaurant around this hotel serve this. Price varies from $20-$80 for 1kg. Delicious! This hotel is an apartment setting. Lobby not proper but Housekeeping is on time. For a fuss free accommodation.

We stayed in this hotel because my brother in law leaves close,by. We booked for like 9 days online and when we got to the hotel the room was better and larger than we thought. I must say that the lobby was a kind of small and old, but inside the room we had a kitchen, a big living room with a table for four at least . The sofas were big and we could have relations come . Quite unusual for a hotel room. The neiborhood is good. You have shopping , supermarket, etc. I would say that it is quite a n... Read more

We had a horrible experience with a budget airbnb and ended up booking this hotel for $40/night through hotels.com. For this price it is in an amazing location and great value. There are airconditioned rooms and a daily cleaning service. Granted that the lobby is not the nicest, the rooms are very clean and provide shampoo, soap, and toothbrushes. We also received two bottles of free water each day. We stayed here for eight days and found it to be very pleasant and great for the price. There are... Read more

Deep impression on the layout. You can stay with family with exclusive privacy. The layout can divide/ merge the rooms side by side. The MRT is nearby within walking distance. Above the MRT there is a shopping centre - Sun Moon Plaza. You can top up your needs there as there is a supermarket. AAA conservation tourist area is nearby. It is unique that conserve residential and retail in one. Oh almost forgot, the hotel has a Japanese restaurant in level selling cheap and good Japanese food. Go a... Read more

I stayed in Rayfont for more then one year on a long term lease in 2013-2014, it was recommended from my friend coz he was also on a long term lease and it use to be okay for the price and the location (mainly is the Location) and after I left Shanghai, I still came back for my shot stay in Shanghai, it happened on one of my business trip where I had a late check-in (around 10pm) then I went straight to bed and woke up shortly after... there was a millions of tiny little black bugs... that freak... This hotel was shocking. I would definitely not recommend it. We were booked into a king deluxe room and when we saw the room it was so tiny there was nowhere to put your suitcases and you would have to climb over the bed to get to the other side. It smelt terrible. We upgraded to a bigger room which gave us two rooms with a balcony. The balcony was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. The hotel itself is very dirty in the communal areas. The staff member that originally checked ... Read more

I was there for spending a summer holiday with friends. I thought that the hotel gonna be good enough looking from their rate and photo(s). I arrived there and do check in at around 12 o'clock in the afternoon. When I did the check in procedure, it a bit weird. The front desk man is not really good with english so since I was a chinese language student, I tried my best to speak with Chinese languange. Even though I did it with mandarin, the Receptionist still cant get my message (it was really f... Read more
