This was the third hotel we stayed in during our visit to China. It was one of the worst hotels I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. I am flabbergasted to think it has been awarded four stars. The room we stayed in was tired and small by today's standards. The lifts seemed to work on some sort of lottery principal - stopping, starting, rising and falling randomly without any reliance on control buttons! However the restaurant holds pride of place for truly dreadful, The buffet breakfast wa... Read more

Im surprised by some of the poor reviews for this hotel- this was the 4th hotel we stayed in as part of a tour to China, and the most impressive one! The rooms were clean & spacious with an amazing street view from the 20th floor room we were in! They had an excellent choice for breakfast including a chef who made omlette/fried eggs as you waited. I didnt use public transport, but a taxi from dowtown area back to hotel cost in the region of 45-50yuan and took 20-30mins depending on traffic. Wifi... Read more

Room: super organized ; spacious; table for office ; fridge and various foods . Details: 12th floor was dedicated to women and was well decorated with utensils and dryer ; items for hair. We had a spa , hair salon, gym and ATM to exchange money . Staff: attentive and all speak English. Breakfast: spectacular with food from various locations ( French, Italian , American , Vegetarian , Chinese etc.) Restaurant : excellent food . Quick and with 24-hour service . Location : well located. Near Carref... Read more

Stayed here 3 nights. My average score is because I stayed in way better hotels in the same category in the same trip in Xi'an and Beijing. So this Hotel felt really small and unappealing in comparison. Maybe it's the best one can find in Shanghai but I have no way to make that comparison. The hotel is basic and fully functional with comfortable beds, some storage, tables and nice bath. The view from my room was really nice, especially at night when all the buildings lit up. The reception/lobby... Read more

Good location, courteous staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok , but difficult for vegetarian. Rooms are furnished well and we were surprised to find that they charge for luggage to be brought to the room.

Hi everybody. Thanks for liking my review on The Dusit Thani Hotel last time. However this time I am writing a review of a very well known hotel chain in great dismay. I just came back from my business come leisure trip from China ! Oh what a great place to visit!!! But my short stay of one night at the Ramada hotel as mentioned here was enough to spoil my entire vacation. The people do not understand a single word in English though they are working in Ramada?!? Mind you that though I have also... Read more

Stayed two nights for business at a University nearby (although not walkable due to the major highway right outside the hotel). The hotel is pretty well equipped, comfortable beds, clean, and for being so close to a major street, pretty quiet. Not so memorable, but for a short business trip, it just may be the right kind of hotel for you.

The rooms are fine, spacious with kitchen area. The hotel has nothing to offer in terms of facilities. Staff are unhelpful and at times rude. The hotel has a very "seen better days" feel to it. I stayed here because it was very close to the location I needed to be in for a work visit. There was literally nothing i liked about this hotel and I stay in hotels for about 50% of my life. I try to find positives in even the poorest of situations, but I seriously could not find anything positiv... Read more

our room was a 2 bed smaller room. clean , matress was on the hard side. updated bathroom. quiet no outside noise. everything in room worked. only biggest problem is the wifi signal. house cleaning serviced daily. great air conditioner. everyone was helpful in the hotel. speaking Chinese did help a lot. great breakfast selections. lots of American and Chinese food was there. good coffee, fruit, and desserts. we didn't eat lunch or dinner there. overall it was a pleasant visit. we stayed in ro... Employee's behavior needs complete makeover, people at reception are not there to help. Wifi doesn't work in rooms but only in lobby which not good for a person who might be coming after all day at exhibition or conference.

A 21 storey massive building, not at par with other hotels of Ramada chain. Breakfast spread is limited, with slow refills. Carpet in the room was torn with nails sticking out. Staff do not understand English, therefore, very difficult to convey one's view point. Internet was patchy.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. Overall it was probably one of the better hotels we stayed in. Room was very spacious but definitely needs a refurbishment. Carpet a bit dirty, furniture knocked about. Same for bathroom. But bedding was clean and comfortable, clean towels. Little kitchenette area with kettle, tea/coffee, sink. Room on the 14th floor was quiet at night. Breakfast buffet had the most western options out of all the hotels we experienced. Some decent pastries, eggs to ord... Read more

Out of age hotel, bathrooms have black mold/fungus. Had a seminar that took place in the hotel. Only stayed for convenience. If you are a smoker it's a perfect place as every public toilet inside hotel is full of smoke. Only few staff speak English. The highlight was the lunch as the food taste was good.

The hotel is getting old and warn. The carpets are dirty and the bathrooms are in need of a renovation. The air-con in the rooms worked well once you figured out the Chinese instructions. Breakfasts were very Chinese orientated and there was a huge variety to choose from. The lighting and air-con in the hotel public spaces was a bit to be desired i.e., too hot and dark. The gym was not something that inspired exercise. Two treadmills and a cycle [plus a yoga mat]. Give the gym a miss and head t... Read more

This Ramada is situated not near the Bund/Pudong but in Wujiaochang in the north of Shanghai. Nevertheless it offers stunning views of the Wujiaochang district (a mini-Pudong) and is quite close to Fudan University. The rooms are fairly spacious and have good-sized en-suites with the usual amenities, although sound proofing could be a bit better against the traffic noise. The breakfast is varied and plentiful and the staff are friendlier and more helpful than in other big hotels in which I've st... Read more
