Across the river, a $4 cab ride to anywhere, this is great find. The hotel is used by tour companies but not an issue because of it's size. 27 floors and a revolving rooftop restaurant along with spa services make this a good three day stay. Funky window divider between bath and bedroom is interesting but found in many Asian hotels.

A decent hotel with good sized rooms. The location is reasonably central though in a strange neighbourhood. Nothing bad about it, only a bit difficult to find and no real shops or restaurants nearby, if you don't go really local. The breakfast was ok, but mainly targeted to locals with minimal selection of the usual suspects like egg and meat. The service was absymal. Asking for anything beyond the absolute minimum was just met with a blank stare followed by an unconditional refusal.

This hotel was a great find and the rooms are very affordable compared to the high quality. There is nothing weird about this place, just spotless, clean and comfortable rooms with a bath tub and great views! And no cigarette smells. There are interesting real-Shanghai style streets to explore and metro station is a 10min walk with good access to downtown locations.

Like other people on this thread we stayed at this hotel as part of a Mercury tour. We were pleasantly surprised by our first taste of Chinese hotels and found it to be very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities in the room (not sure if that is because we were part of a British tour or normal) breakfast was plentiful, with Chinese and western style dishes, we tasted both. We were on a tour so picked up each day, but the first evening we walked along the road and turning left we wer... Read more

Nights 1,2 and 4 of an 8 night tour spent here. Bedrooms are comfy with an interesting detail of a windows between the bathroom and bedroom, thank goodness for the blind! Revolving restaurant at top with great views and it would be nice to have had the chance of a meal up there. Apologies to staff for being a little noisy on our last night!

Stayed there for just two nights but it felt quite nice. Friendly and helpful stuff during check-in / check-out. The rooms are ok, just a bit old decoration. But they are kept clean and also bathroom was good. I had the breakfast in this hotel and the selection was great, ranging from the standard scrambled eggs, toast and so on to the Chinese breakfast including fresh noodle soup. The area around the hotel is quite with some small typical Chinese restaurants which I really like. To the famous B... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel closed to the downtown near a shopping and a lots more to do by walking! The rooms are large and all seems to be suite with a leaving room and work station as well as bar and the bathroom are large and very clean. A groups of 8 of us stayed here and it was a blessing for us. The room prices was reasonable since we end up getting corporate prices thru our contact friend in Shanghai! The city of shanghai is magnificent with its culture and modern beauty and its very cle... Read more

Located at a quiet spot which is probably why I didn't recognise the complaints in hotel reviews that I read upfront about girls in the lobby or in front of the hotel offering a massage. I did not see any of such thing so that's a plus. Turn just around the corner and you will find yourself in a typical Chinese downtown area with it's narrow streets and small shops, a little park where people do some sort of dancing and what appears to be Tai Chi, you can just blend in and experience the local d...
