Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in October as part of a group tour of China so didn't use all the facilities but in the areas of the hotel which we did us it was spotless and the staff were really friendly and helpful but communication was difficult because they spoke very little English and we spoke no Chinese!! From what we saw there are not too many touristy facilities in the immediate area but around the corner is a supermarket and small arcade with a few shops/bars/cafes/restaurants and ... Read more

Small foyer with a shop, ideal for those last minute gifts. large bar area to the left which we were able to sit in and wait for our coach, not hassled by the staff, The room was a little tired looking and the carpet was well past it's life, stained and very dirty which not even a good clean could have brought back to life, really needed changing. The general cleanliness of the room wasn't that good, woke up the first morning to find a fine layer of dust over the bedside table which was glass an... Read more

I was on a 3 Star Hotel trip around China and found this hotel to be above expectations. (Arranged for me by Odyssey Tours) The Hotel had very helpful staff in reception, the shop and bar. It is a very busy hotel night and day as the restaurant is popular along with the Spa and Karaoke Bar on one of its many levels. The Spa is open 24 hours so I went to book in for a massage The receptionist young girl at the Spa counter was very rude and it didnt have a very welcome feel to the place - for thi... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in November 2015 as part of a Wendy Wu tour. - Rooms were dated but clean and therefore adequate. - Breakfast was a complete shambles! Firstly, the restaurant is on the top floor so you have loads of people trying to get to the top of the hotel using a set of really slow lifts so it took us about 20 minutes to get to the restaurant. Then the restaurant itself was really really busy with around 10 large round tables so, generally, people were sharing ta... Read more

We stayed here two nights as part of a Wendy Wu tour and were perfectly happy with the hotel. The room was spacious and well-equipped, including a kettle, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size, with two showers and a bath. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot food, both Western and Chinese, as well as cereals, fruit and yoghurts. Reception was helpful in changing large denomination notes into smaller ones. But while we were very happy, two fellow travellers... Read more

We stayed here for two nights as our first stop on our Wendy Wu Majestic Yangtse tour. Check in was very easy and the staff very friendly. We were on floor 23 of 26 and found that especially at breakfast time the three lifts get very busy so we actually walked on our last day. The dining room was large but got very crowded as there were some Chinese conferences or conventions there at the same time plus lots of tourists. The selection was mainly Chinese food but there were the likes of eggs,baco... Read more

This hotel was a smoking hotel. Smelt of smoke. Not pleasant. Carpet was tatty and dirty. Plucked. Bedside compartment dusty and not clean. However bed was comfortable and pillows also. Could do with a bit of a refurb. Not noisy despite being on 19th floor. Breakfast not too bad a choice. Chinese and English choice. Had to attract attention of waitress sometimes for tea/coffee

As with many people before, this was the first hotel we stayed in on a three week tour of China. Our fist impression of the hotel was not good. There was no attempt to help our group members with luggage on arrival. There was a distinct lack of porters and the staff at reception seemed completely disinterested. Our room was spacious and quite well appointed with a large bed and comfortable chair (just the one!). It would seem the staff have taken note of previous comments about hard beds as... Read more

Spent our first day in this hotel and was impressed very friendly and clean with the biggest bed we have ever slept in! It had a wet room and bath and the view was outstanding. We also stayed here on our last day and got another beautiful room. Lots of sockets for plugs with tea/coffee/ kettle/fridge all included.

Stayed here for 3 days as part of our Wendy Wu tour, the hotel is ok and breakfast was fine. However the hotel is out of the way and its a long walk or taxi ride to get to the important and interesting parts of Shanghai. We did find a good bar/restaurant down the road and a shop around the corner. If you do have a choice of hotel go for something more central.

we stayed here at the beginning of our trip and at the end, both rooms were ok, both clean, however the second was far better on a higher floor, carpets could do with a really good clean or replacing and the first room the carpet was not very nice, but slept ok in both rooms. breakfast was ok

This Hotel has the perfect location of you are here either for holiday or business. It's close to the bund (20 min walking), it's next to old shanghainese neighbourhoods, close to pudong, close the the city centre, easy to reach airports. It also has a decent breakfast, a smoking area, friendly staff. Close to the hotel are different restaurants, coffeeshops, art galleries Downside of this hotel are the elevators (only three): slow. And overpriced coffee in the lobby (why???)

I loved the beds and the room I had was large, clean and spacious. Happy with the facilities and the buffet breakfast. The negatives however are the staff. I'm travelling for several months and when I arrived at the hotel, no-one offered any assistance even though there was 3 people standing around. A little more of attention to service would go a long way. The elevators are painful!! Need upgrading!

On our trip to Shanghai, we didn't expect the hotel to be so nice as it was a little far from the city center. However, this hotel exceeded our expectations. We got a room on the 23rd floor and it was clean and cozy. When our Wi-Fi did not connect, they immediately sent an IT person to our room to check. Breakfast had many Chinese options but also a variety of western options too. Check in and check out was smooth.

Restaurant was terrible, two hour wait for a raw burger that was not edible, no attempt made to correct it. Room was moldy in the shower. Bartenders was not responsive at all. Window in room filthy from smog and smoke.

Let me start with a couple of positives - wifi was strong and room was reasonably spacious. The breakfast buffet offered reasonable choice...when the trays weren't empty. More often than not, you need to ask for the fruit to be topped up, the bacon replenished, more bread, etc. And you'll need to ask more than once. Zero customer service. There's no one to show you to a table, sit where you can/want and good luck getting a cup of tea or coffee! I ordered room service one night - food arrived and... Read more

We were placed in this hotel as part of a Wendy Wu tour of China. I must say I am not disappointed with their choice. The rooms were clean and well serviced. The food was good. I would have no problem with stopping here again or recommending it to others. The only reason I have not given full marks is its location. But as we were on a tour it was not really an issue to us

We too stayed in the hotel whilst on a Wendy Wu tour, and yes, it is both comfortable and convenient. The staff were pleasant and the room had all the facilities we would expect. The only problem (over which the hotel; has no control) was the traffic noise from the street outside. This continues virtually all night and the use of car horns appears to be obligatory in Shanghai - even in the middle of the night!

My stay at this hotel was fantastic. I will detail my experience in this hotel as follows: the positives: i. Room size: The size of the double room that we had was great. We had space for my family of 3, the room had two regular beds and we had a rollaway bed added. Even with the rollaway bed in our room, there was enough space for us to walk freely in the room. The room had a desk and a nice flat screen T.V. (we did not use the TV), the closet was very spacious and the beds were comfort... Read more

Stayed here as part of a Wendy Wu tour, along with many other tour groups. Rooms are pretty good for China with a good bathroom and selection of extras, tea, coffee, bathrobes, slippers, bottled water every day. Negatives; the lifts require you to swipe with your room key, sometimes it doesn't seem to register the floor number. Long waits around breakfast time and when a tour group arrives or departs. Breakfast is a reasonable buffet on the top floor but it's grab a seat, all sitting around on 1... Read more

On arrival we were checked in easily and quickly, there are 20+ floors with breakfast being on the top one. NOTE - in the lift if you want to travel on any floor you need to have your room key to be able to select a floor... bit annoying if you don't know this and take time to figure it out. The rooms are stunning - we had a twin room (both queen sized beds) bath and separate shower. however we couldn't use the bath as the plug wasn't a good fit to keep the water in. This hotel is a great stop for a short stay. The rooms are clean with quality linen. They have coffee making facilities in the room and there are terrific views to be had from the higher floors. Breakfast covers all tastes, including European, but the toast often requires a long queue and really does need to be improved. There is unlimited coffee and tea available which is served at the table. The room has a nice en-suite, but there is a large glass panel separating it from the rest of the room... Read more
