Decided to stay at InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin after extending my visit in Shanghai after a business trip. It was probably the best decision I took all week! I was greeted by the hotel team in the Club InterContinental wing and swiftly showed to my room. I was truly impressed by the warm service provided by the front office and bell team. The Club Room was spacious and featured a balcony overlooking the courtyard. It's really well decorated and feels very welcoming and warm with touches o... Read more

This is my 3rd stay in this hotel. Our room was in the main building compared to the club building from my previous stays. We had a mini-suite with a living room, a bedroom, a large bathroom (shower and bathtub) with a small dressing room. A separate toilet just at the room's entrance. The room was above the hotel drive-in giving a nice view on the nice garden and the city in the background: impressive. Windows were very dirty (probably due to pollution). They were cleaned during my stay but n... Read more

The hotel is beautiful with old colonial style. The room is nice and great. The staff is competent and friendly. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. Walkable distance to shopping area and metro station. Overall the service was prompt when requested.

The hotel has restored vintage mansions and created rooms with every amenity possible. The king room had an extensive amount of built in storage and a large bathroom with glass enclosed shower and a tub. Due to it's location in a park setting, the rooms are very quiet. Our room was in the Club Mansion with club privileges, breakfast, afternoon tea, and cocktail hour. The staff was eager to please and provided good service. The location in the French Concession is very appealing with tree lined s... Read more

I've stayed a lot of hotels in a lot of countries. China, by far, has the worst internet and the InterContinental Shanghi Ruijin must have the worst network in Shanghai. Almost every site I tried timed out. From the lobby, from my room. Gmail? Illegal in China. YouTube? Forget about it. Netflix? Keep dreaming. Text? Maybe.. Type slow. Now the hotel and the property are gorgeous. The staff is great. But if you are planning on staying here for business, bring paper and pen because there is ... Read more

Having such a great stay at this property, I really felt the need to write this review. I had the pleasure of staying at the IHG Shanghai Ruijin Hotel and want to share the experience with TA readers. This Intercontinental property is truly an oasis in the middle of Shanghai, surrounded by its own Chinese style gardens. It has the look and feel of an old world English or French manor house complex. I came here with my wife and daughter for several days, June 4-7 2016, and then by myself for ... Read more

This hotel is located in sort of a park making it very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are luxurious and it had the best bath tub I have had in a hotel. The staff is very friendly even if some of them do not speak good english they will try to accommodate your needs.Breakfast buffet has anything you can wish for from both western and asian cuisine. My only negative comment would be the very slow wi-fi making it impossible to work in the hotel.

This place is an absolute delight. It's like being somewhere far from the city, but with the beauty of the French Concession at your doorstep. The gardens are huge, the buildings not too high rise a`nd it feels like a hotel in the country despite being in the middle of one of the busiest cities on the planet. The rooms are big, clean and the beds incredibly wide and incredibly comfortable. Outside your window are grass and trees. And outside the compound is the rest of the French concession: ... Read more

This hotel continues the tradition of Intercontinental and other mid-level US brands having much more uspcale properties in Asia than at home. The decor and furnishings are of higher quality, the breakfast buffet is exceptional, but what really sets this hotel apart is the tranquil setting in an old mansion with a huge garden. It is really pleasant to come back to this oasis after a day in the bustling Shanghai. It is also in the middle of the French Concession with many preserved historic bu... Read more

I love this hotel very much, spaciest and green. It is just 10mins walk to the iapm for business and luxury shopping, another 10mins to go to ???for local food, special restaurant and local shop. In general, the service of the hotel is ok good. But not everyone can deliver the same standard. it depends if you are lucky enough to meet the good one. Some of them is really good. But some of them are really bad... Anyway, I think the service problem is the typical issue in China. I will def... Read more

Location: The entrance is hard to find. The taxi didn't know where to go so we had to walk quite a bit. Walking towards the main entrance, you will find that the property looks very European but it's becoming quite Chinese and not in a good way. This reflects in the decor as well. I was really looking forward to visiting this place because of the history and the pictures, and was very disappointed when I arrived. It needs major renovation, and by someone good, so it doesn't have the patchy new... Read more
